Well played, Corch.

Gotta admit, leaking the news you’re not taking a job offer from Texas may be an even more effective way of kneecapping Tom Herman than taking the job outright.  Now Urban can sit back and enjoy the sound Herman makes twisting in the wind for the next couple of weeks until the end mercifully comes.

Urbs has it in for his former OC? That’s some Donald Level Loyalty right there.

Pretty sure it is a by-product of Herman disavowing his fellow Meyer acolyte and serial wife-beater Zach Smith, forcing Coach Point-and-Stare to choose sides in a family squabble.

  2. Corch is a prick whom I would never want coaching at UGA, but these guys from Texas were nitwits to think he or his representatives weren’t going to let this get out.

Just more proof that winning is all that matters, not how you go about doing it. I’ve no doubt that Meyer could win a national championship there, but there would also be some off-the-field scandal to follow.

And Corch once again shows he is oblivious to every single living being in the world, except Corch. His Twitter pronouns: me, myself, and I.

And he is exactly the type of guy that would do such a thing. With that said, I think he’s waiting for the USC job to open up. Think about it. PAC 10 is just a bad conference. He can go out there and ‘rule’; be in the college football play off every year and dominate that conference like Saban has the SEC for years. Strokes his ego, increases an already large bank account. Wins one Natty, destroys the integrity of the program and walks away for health reasons. ESPN hires him as an commentator/analyst – and he tells himself that he was greater than Saban. It’d be the place he could dominate for years with much less stress Pete Carroll sure did well there, and would have been every bit Saban’s peer if he had stayed … or stayed clean?

I have it on good authority that Corch is to be USC coach in 2021…

Nah, Herman knows he’s gone and so does everyone in town. It would have been much more painful for Meyer to take his job. Corch let him off easy not waiting another week.

If you think Urban has hit rock bottom on his sleaziness. Think again this guy has no shame or consideration for anyone except himself and how it makes him look. Texas deserves to end up with Bobby Petrino.

    • No school deserves that. I wouldn’t even wish Petrino on Georgia Tech.

But now that I think about it, wouldn’t that make an effective NCAA penalty? Get caught doing something bad enough, you have to take him as your head coach.

This guy is the absolutely worst. It’s like the only reason why he did all the clandestine meetings and wife looking for real estate in Austin is so he could make a big show of turning down a job someone already has, that someone being his former OC who led him to his natty with the Suckeyes.

As the handsome cab driver said in Ghostbusters, “What an asshole.”

  11. I have absolutely no love lost for Herman, but this is a bush league, chickenshit move, even by Urban’s standards.

Coach Letterman already beat you to turning down the job at Texas. And Michigan. And the Jets.

I think he has he eyes on the Lions job so he can coach Stafford and Swift.

  13. How can Texas not take their former HC in waiting? Boom, Bobo, Brown and throw Trooper Taylor in for good measure.

Never liked Spurrier much either, but they both have multiple rings on their fingers. I’d rather be a winner who’s not universally liked, than a really nice guy with a bunch of second tier bowl appearances. I like winners. And so do fanbases.

I’ll take a total d—khead coach and a natty for $500 Alex. Anytime. Any day. Any year. It’s a cutthroat biz gents, not a church softball league.
