I’d love to have him, but I was expecting us to run a Patriot’s style destruction of your soul with tightends up the seam offense with McKitty and Washington, and honestly, we still didn’t utilize the awesome talent we had.

What’s the pitch to Gilbert? I hate admitting this, but if you’re Gilbert wouldn’t you rather go to Floriduh where Sideshow Dan the Clown will actually feature his amazing tightends?

Of course you’re correct. But don’t give the guy any ideas.

BAH!….he’s just getting started, Kirby is next up, the day is still young:

Can’t coach, can’t let coaches coach, can’t develop players, can’t game plan, can’t win the big one….can’t grow any taller.

Your continued obsession with me is noted.

I’m flattered Greg, but I’m not interested.

            Obsession??…crazy talk.

But I do admire your “sticktoitiveness” on Kirby. Sooner or later he has to listen to you. He can run, but not hide….it will catch up with him sooner or later.

It sux that the players pulled this one out for Kirby, got to live with that ALL offseason.

But stay on it, Sweetie. Somebody gotta keep him straight. You’re doing the Lord’s work…

I hate it too Corch, but I agree with you that side show knows how to make good use of TE’s. Now the thing that we have going for us is that we’re in the running to win it all while the turds will take a big step backwards next season.

Somebody has to throw it and somebody has to block. Losing 4 of 5 of their starting linemen.

I keep hearing this nonsense. Sideshow Dan did not turn Pitts into a great TE because he forced his QB to throw to him. Pitts is an unbelievably good TE, which is why he was featured so prominently in FU’s offense.

If Pitts played for UGA, he would get the same number of touches. Just look at how we feature Pickens. Would you say Pickens gets so many passes because of scheme or is t that Pickens catches everything you throw at him, so he keeps getting looks?

Pickens gets so many targets because he isn’t called a TE.

        OR

George told Kirby his real name was “Man Ball” and that he only caught really long handoffs.

Kirby then told Monken that he was to handoff to George a lot.

Also kirby is stubborn. And doesn’t get “it.” And never will get “it.”

I don’t have an original thought in my head as my default factory setting is to go in the direction of wherever the wind is blowing and then tell it the sky isn’t blue.

          or

I’m so pedantic in leaping in to correct any perceived error that I completely suck the joy out of any room I enter.

          or

          I’m a fatuous gasbag.

          or

I think I’m so clever by not responding to the person I want to respond to that I instead am so passive aggressive that I could give 15 year old Mean Girls lessons.

We get it Derek… you’re ALL these things. Now kindly fuck off.

Bama apparently finished second in his recruiting process, and Forristall is a senior. If he saw Emory Jones throwing against Oklahoma he ain’t going to Florida.

We’ll see where he goes. It could be us. Kirby can sell anyone. It’s literally what he’s best at doing.

But also, I wouldn’t expect Emory Jones to be Floriduh’s starting QB in 2021, either. It’s gonna be big No. 2, Anthony Richardson.

Agreed on all points. Richardson looked really good when he entered the game against Oklahoma. It was disheartening as a dawg fan. I was looking forward to Jones leading Florida to a sub .500 season.

I don’t think the smart money is on Gilbert to Athens, and honestly I’d much prefer to get Ojulari’s brother, but I’ll take both if we can get them. I can’t think of a single good reason for Gilbert to come to Athens over Tuscaloosa, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

Richardson has talent, and he has the height, weight, and strength to be a huge Tebow or sCam like problem in the QB run game. If he can become even a competent passer, he’s going to be a huge problem for Kirby and Lanning the next couple of years.

If it’s true, and he missed home, Gainesville is 6 hours from Marietta. Baton Rouge is 7.5 hours. That’s not an upgrade.

What evidence do you have that McKitty is any sort of awesome talent? He was a consensus 3 star, that had ok production at FSU and transferred to UGA and produced ok.

Washington had 7 receptions for 180 yards in 8 games despite having Stetson Bennett and D’Wan for the majority of the year. In fact his #’s with JT looked pretty damn good, finishing with 5 catches for 106 yards in his last two games.

I agree with your premise that Mullen will use an elite TE, and your premise that our previous OC’s would not.

I think your meme is basically out of date. Monken is an elite OC and Daniels is an elite QB, the results show up in every statistic you look at including TE production.

The Kirby won’t let his offense win meme is dead, it’s acolytes just won’t accept it

I think guys like Gilbert make a business decision about where they want to play. They’re not swayed by photo shopped pictures or co eds. It’s how they fit and how they will get used so they can get drafted higher. With that said, here are his options….

Bama- Everything is great, but they lose their QB and OC. I’m sure Bama has another solid QB, but what about OC?

UGA- Everything is good but he might have to share touches too much.

Clemson- This is the sleeper in my opinion. They do a great job of coaching up WRs, and have a solid QB taking over. Plus the ACC will make him look good.

Florida- New unproven QB and WRs. He’s going to be double teamed often. Plus the OL is meh, so they might need an extra blocker. Mullen is good at using his talent though.

Auburn- New everything, so I doubt he looks here.

  5. From what I’ve read over the last month, I have to think Georgia has been and still is a frontrunner. Maybe THE frontrunner. He was originally committed to us but our OC and lack of throwing to the TE likely made him go to LSU. That and what LSU was doing. A year later and the two programs have nearly swapped places. What could be working against us, though, is how loaded we already are. We’re already looking at the very real problem of keeping people fed/happy, and that’s before adding Gilbert who would expect immediate action. No way he comes here if he has to spend a season proving his down field blocking prowess.

You also don’t want to burn bridges with current guys, especially local recruiting pipeline. Transfer, recruiting and eligibility rules are really going to make HCs earn their keep or more than usual. I imagine the value staffers and analysts are at an all time high.

Has always been my opinion that losing Gilbert was the primary reason Coley is gone. It is all about recruiting with Kirby – and I don’t blame him – and Chaney and Coley’s lack of TE production was the main reason Gilbert went to LSU as stated above.

Not sure how bringing in a 5-star Marietta product could hurt local recruiting though?

Dang how many coaches besides Urban Meyer get credit for Hernandez. Better question would have been how many was mullen the head coach of.

Mullen has had two TEs drafted in 12 seasons as head coach.

Kirby has also had 2 TEs drafted in 5 years as a head coach.

If mckitty gets drafted, they will remain tied at 3 with mullet having 7 extra seasons.

If your an AD and have any bad news today is the day to release the news.
It will take a lot of bad to get noticed right now.

If Gilbert is looking to win championships in the SEC that narrows the field down to two schools for 2021. If Sark is leaving Bama I like Kirby’s chances to close the deal.

1 free year of eligibility + 1 free transfer + less room for early enrollees + 1 year 85 Scholly cap waiver + roster management + highest # of bowl opt outs ever = college free agency on steroids.

Oh my, transfers galore. Meanwhile, I am feasting on 4 slices of bread, butter coated, 4 slices of ham, 4 slices of cheese, made into grilled goodness. Then add homemade chicken noodle soup. I’m in heaven. Hot ham and cheese, soup. Done deal. Chili from scratch tomorrow.

Y’all need to relax. Have a beer, get laid, kick your dog, go for a long walk. Something. It gets very personal between some of you. The seasons over. Differences of opinion are great. Why the predictable childish character attacks? I agree with each of you on different topics. Doesn’t mean you are dumb or I am dumb. It’s my opinion. Jeez. A lot of sexual tension here. Ha. Kidding . Free speech, right?

Lighten up killers. And enjoy the offseason. Go dawgs.

Guys… MULLENING is now an Urban Dictionary reference, much like Clemsoning used to be pre-Dabo.

I definitely think it should also enter the Lexicon!

  17. Contrary to believe, the way to win an NC is when your opponents are down. And look our 2021 slate with everyone in the east on fire and Clemson with a new QB

I hope Kirby can learn destruction over ball control.

What are the odds we can pick off a transfer RB if Zeus or Cook decide to declare? I’d love to keep both, but I can’t blame either if the “tread on the tires” argument swayed them
