All of the guys who are deciding to stick around are raising expectations for ‘21. Davis is a freakish combination of size, power and quickness.

They’re likely to put it together and win the national title at some point. Might as well be next season.

Could there be a Richard LaCounte the 3rd kind of a buy in rubbing off on teammates that have listened, understand and have heard/seen of past UGA student athletes stay for One More year…is it the “process”…

I didn’t think I could love this kid anymore than I already did. This news is tremendous in both a talent and leadership perspective. Let’s Eat!

Other than JT staying, Davis’s choice might be the best news yet.

Easily the second most important returner next to Daniels. I’m a little shocked by this, but it’s a big deal for the defensive front in 2021.

As someone who whined before the bowl game about all the bad decisions that juniors had made at Georgia in previous years, I am very relieved and happy to see these players returning. Ojulari was a no brainer to leave. And assuming Tyson Campbell has heard he is gonna be a first or second round pick, can’t blame him either.

Word is Campbell’s been told he’s a likely mid to late second round pick.

Right, and even that is questionable, IMO.
He really needs another year.

I don’t feel like putting together the table, but mosey over to cfb stats and look at sack rate this year, 3.2 a game (good enough for 1st in SEC and 11th in the country). In last 10 years next highest per game avg was was 2013 at 2.54. Most recent years down in the 2.2 range or lower. I would say the mission to increase havoc rate was accomplished, and big part of that is the double teams that Davis consumes. We of course are losing Azeez as top sack getter, as well as Jermaine, but no reason to think that Davis, Adam Anderson, Nolan Smith, etc can’t exceed this already unprecedented number.

With Davis and Carter getting a big push up the center, the havoc rate will be very nice. And we shouldn’t have to blitz much to get it, either, meaning the secondary will be protected.

He was a big factor in the nation’s best run defense as well.

Hard to imagine anyone in the conference will have a better lineup on the D Line than DE Travon Walker, NT Jordan Davis and DT of Devonte Wyatt. Maybe Bama but then you got to figure out what to do with a Jalen Carter. This is what proper recruiting looks like. I am a little less worried about the back end of our defense with these guys coming back.

Man, I can’t wait for next season! Put this weird season behind us and leave a scorched earth in our path to 15-0.

Yes!
Now if Zeus will do the same. I hope our O is ready to score early and often next season because the secondary kinda scares me. Gotta replace a punter, too.

Zirkle is also a punter. I’d bet Hot Pod can punt as well.

Why do we need a punter. Is Camarda leaving? I had not heard anything about him declaring. Did I miss something?

False alarm. I thought he was a senior. 😆
I also thought Jordan Davis was only a sophomore, which makes the fact that he’s actually returning for his senior season rather shocking.

We may not even need a punter!

The announcements thus far truly have the feel of Chubb, Michel, Carter, and Bellamy back in 2017. We know how that turned out.
Not sure this year’s group as a whole are as dominant as that group, but with Daniels and Davis in the mix they’re probably as important.

I think the key is now we have a top notch OC and a 5* QB that can take advantage of that. 2017 we lost Eason first game and then had to learn/figure out what we had in Fromm, meaning we couldn’t use him as much early on. I think having JT from the get go will help us throughout the season.
LikeLike
I think if we went the whole season with Eason we end up maybe 10-2 for the season, lose the SECCG and end up in the Sugar on the outside looking in.

Jordan, how do you make all those plays in the backfield?
I grab-up everybody then I throw them out one by one until I find the one with the ball.
