There will always be diamonds in the rough occasionally but you sure as hell can’t count on that unlike what Mullen seems to be using it for.

You make a point there, PTC..but Kirby is recruiting on a high enough level to sustain the program’s success without relying on the portal. Mullen is dependent on it. Subtle difference with some exceptions for sure.

Name the last 5* out of HS that Kirby signed at UGA. The player must have signed straight out of HS.
Now do the same for Mullen as the UF head coach. See the difference?

Kirby has used the portal in ADDITION to recruiting not IN LIEU of recruiting (ala the Portal Master). His own fan base is giving him hell for his lack of effort in recruiting. Check out what his own fan base thinks of his recruiting and portaling

Kirby Smart is tough as a pulpwooder and as intelligent as a nerd. He’s driven and performance-oriented almost to a fault. Cousin Eddie Mullen is not. His lackadaisical attitude will be reflected on his final record versus CKS.
