The Portal Master™ isn’t a nihilist.

Shorter random GatorsTerritory writer:  I mean, say what you want about using the transfer portal as a crutch for mediocre recruiting, Dude, at least it’s an ethos.

Don’t know why, but the pic of Valentino, made me think of Rock Perdoni…….maybe because it has an o somewhere in there – 😏

If there wasn’t a transfer portal, Sideshow Dan the Clown’s apologists would’ve had to invent it for him.

“They come out, they have a maturity and an understanding of how to mature, how to prepare, and how to work every single day.”…the port-o-let master was amused by such, as these are topics of no concern for the FU hc…#FTMF

That link was worth clicking to see the phrase “portal combat.” Is throwing a shoe a legal move in that sport?

Going heavy Portal has got to backfire at some point.l on mullet. “Me First” dudes transferring in & playing ahead of those who put in the sweat equity just cant be good for the jort culture.

I agree 100% I think it is the main reason Kirby doesn’t do it.

Building your team through the portal is like building the nicest double-wide possible.

It doesn’t matter how much granite countertops and tiled walk-in showers and big rooms you have in there. It’s still doesn’t have a foundation.

Consider five O linemen with a “team” spirit. They’ve worked together for at least a couple of years and have each other’s back. Along comes a portal prince that left his other team for some reason or another. He displaces one of the five. That’s not going to go over well in the trenches. Human nature dictates a mixed reaction of resentment towards the coach, a belief that they don’t really matter as much as the bottom line (even if it’s true anyway, that’s kind of “in your face”) and at least a temporary resentment of the new player. Back home, the parents, friends and HS coach of the kid that was displaced are pissed. Yeah, there are exceptions where a portal infusion is a great thing, but mostly, if a coach like Mullens is using the “Bass Tourney Culling Plan”, he’s courting resentment and discontent from his team, all the way down to the HS coaches/parents that thought he could be trusted.

Love it! Let him do what he does. It won’t stop the ass whipping in October. Give it two years(or less) and it will be UT 2.0.

Love these puff pieces on transfer players, they are always great people and wonderful players. Would love to hear one coach say “I know why they let him go, the kid doesn’t know how to practice and has no work ethics. Now I know why his ass was in the portal to begin with.”
