So what’s so bad about that?

It mentions Jesus and the mentally unbalanced on Twitter are largely God-hating atheists that only practice the cult of Wokism.

Right. I don’t see anything wrong with what he said. He said if they talk about Jesus they are gonna talk about him too.

Its only hard to understand if you are dense on purpose or don’t believe in his sinless existence.

        • Don’t think he was comparing the degree of suffering he was undergoing to Jesus. Just pointing out the pattern of reality we all live with. When we put ourselves out there, we are going to get criticized. Just part of engaging and playing the game of life I guess. Doesn’t hurt to follow the example of Jesus by forgiving the haters….otherwise you just carry around resentment all the time, and that’s a bitter pill only you can swallow. [Kicks off the soapbox and slowly walks away…]

Remember being 21, and being so self-absorbed and ego-centric that you you could compare yourself to (depending on your belief system) the Savior of all Mankind without a hint of irony or humor?

File this under “Youth is Wasted on the Young,” give a big sigh, and move along.

No. But, I was lit a lot of the time. But still… I think no.

It’s a generalized statement about how full of shit we generally are when we’re in our teens and early 20’s.

I can’t remember comparing myself to Jesus, but I do remember being so self-absorbed and ego-centric that it was certainly possible, and if you can’t admit to that you’re lying. 😂

    • I didn’t take it that way. All I thought he was trying to say was, if someone as great as Jesus was criticized then, anyone below that level is going to be criticized, as well, and you just accept that as a fact of life/being in the public eye.

My favorite comment was, “Jesus didn’t throw thee picks against South Carolina!”

Jesus has way more patience in the pocket than Bo Nix.

I had to read the “posted without absolutely no comment” part five times to make it work in my head. But yeah, the “if they criticize God then I suppose they will me too” attitude is something to behold.

wait i didn’t realize that an auburn QB “suffering” was on the same level as JC? It must be in Revelations.

I don’t know, wearing those uniforms could bring about that level of suffering. Nailed to a cross or wearing an au uniform, pretty tight race.

If they criticized the only perfect man to walk the earth, how much more do you think they will criticize me, an imperfect man.

    That’s not comparing, that’s contrasting.

I don’t think Jesus was too concerned about people talking bad about him at that point. If he was concerned about anything it was probably having nails driven through his wrists, his body weight then dislocating his shoulders and slowly suffocating. I’ve had my share of pain, like everyone, but not once have I compared my suffering to that of Jesus on the cross.
As far as advice to Nix on handling criticism. A friend once told me: “What someone else thinks of me is none of my business, so why should I give a shit.”

Nah, Jesus was sitting there thinking “this is nothing compared to what Bo Nix is going to go through. Good thing he’ll have me as a frame of reference.”

I think the consequences to Jesus for people criticizing and not liking him are just a tab more life altering than what poor little Bo Peep has to deal with. You got to hand it to him though. He does not lack self confidence while still managing to lack self awareness.

  11. Remember a post from yesterday when we opined about media access to players and coaches? Kids do say the darnedest things…could be a reason Kirby has a vice grip on his staff and players…maybe the War-tigers should follow suit. I’m not offended by what Bo said…I think he meant well, but it just landed flat…like some of his passes. I don’t get the sense he was trying for a Beatles moment.

  14. I think you guys are being too hard on the lad. He didn’t compare himself to Jesus. He compared how people treated Jesus, with how they treat others. He was saying that if people critisize someone who was perfect, like Christ, then they would most certainly critisize Bo, who is not perfect. Sounds like a humble thing to say and a great truth to embrace. Keep your head down, ignore the haters and march on.

  18. You evangelicals have no sense of idolatry at all. it’s mind-blowing that a group so devoted to the scriptures and to Jesus could miss the obvious – you are the 21st century’s Pharisees. Bo is just channeling that idolatry. The same idolatry that empowers Evangelicals to defend Donald. The same idolatry that has turned the United States of America into a big fat golden calf.

  20. Im so happy to see so many that no bo nix heart.

    Let’s break it down.

Hes absolutely insincere. Just playing it. Not sure how id know. But hes bailing out, pussy

Hes young, and trying to go to what he believes, maybe poorly. Or maybe repeating what hes heard.

Or, he actually is saying christ was critized. And if it happened to the son of G*d, it can happen to anyone.

Now, for those here without grace, you think hes an asshole. You get option 1.

But for everyone else we get option 2 or 3.

Everyone hates G*d until they need him. posts about grace, but don’t give it, but by lord, when you need it, you sure want it.

Of course, once Jesus got to the Plains and shut down the money changers (bagmen?) I’m sure that the Auburn family would turn their attention towards him and forget all about how much they can’t stand Bo.
