  1. I mean, why should we expect anything different at this point. We are the most snake-bitten program in the history of college football.

I’m betting we never see him play another down in Athens. Even if he is healthy late in the season, I would expect him to be preparing for the draft.

And I fully expect him to be a star at the next level, which will just further the narrative that Kirby “wastes talent”.

I hate it that a talented young man is injured, BUT, it’s not the end of the world for Georgia football. We have a wealth of young receivers who, with a talented QB will keep us in the national picture. The gloom and doomers of the fickle fanbase are all from the Henny Penny School of football. Too bad for George but look at the talent that is sitting on the bench! Go gettem Jackson et al…GATA!

I agree that his days in a Georgia uniform are over. Even if we don’t skip a beat on offense and win the title, I will still feel robbed that I didn’t get to see George maximize his talent here. He’s a unique marvel to behold.

I often wonder what his take on the CMR and CKS eras would be, as well as the game as a whole. I think he’d love the two former and hate the latter. I also think he’d love this space and would give as well as he could take. I miss that man like I miss Munson. The sad part is the millennials, et al, have no idea who he is. The death of locally owned, locally written, locally sourced newspapers is a tragedy. The digital age has given us many great things, like this blog. But it came at a cost.

I have often said that the ultimate proof that life is not fair is that Lewis Grizzard died a year before the Braves won the World Series.

He should have been alive to see that happen.

Yeah, but here’s the thing about curmudgeons (coming from a curmudgeon):

Sometimes you just flat-out need the win, man. Part of the reason you’re a curmudgeon in the first place is having something or many things annoy you until your only recourse is to become a curmudgeon. Getting that win every once in awhile is balm for a curmudgeon’s soul.

How the fuck does Bama get all these WRs and not just WRs but all these other players, but they NEVER get hurt???

Our guys get hurt in games. They get hurt in practice. They get hurt in NON CONTACT DRILLS!!!

But Bama players, they never get hurt. Devonta Smith is 120lbs soaking wet, and he never gets hurt. We lose our two best WRs in back to back years. Paragons of muscle and height and athleticism. We have guys who constantly deal with nagging injuries, but Bama’s guys, they never get hurt.

What are THEY doing that we’re not? Ron Courson may be a whiz at helping players rehab, but what the fuck is that guy NOT DOING TO HELP PREVENT ALL THESE FUCKING INJURIES???

Can someone tell me that? What is Ron Courson and our Strength & Conditioning Staff NOT DOING that maybe Bama’s Medical Staff and S&C Staff are doing?

Maybe we need to fucking copy what they’re doing. Anyone thought of that? FUCK!!!

Was really looking forward to a full year of Daniels to Pickens. Glad we have some talent in the position like Jermaine Burton who I think has the potential to have an outstanding season.

Dude. You don’t lose a player like that and not miss a beat. We’re still very good and will still be a major contender… we even have a lot of good receivers, but this is not a “next man up” situation.

This is losing the one player who keeps DC’s up at night; who affects the way all the other receivers have to be defended. Who affects the way they defend the run. Who affects the size of our QB’s target downfield. This is a MAJOR loss.

Not as big as Newman opting out, but as close as any other player could get to being as bad as losing our starting QB.

HUGE loss, but it could be worse. It could have been Daniels. We have a lot of good proven receivers (and yes tight ends) to throw to, but we only have ONE PROVEN guy that can get them the ball. We may have to have a little more man ball than we were hoping to this year.

And looking for the silver lining plenty of time for Daniels to develop chemistry with our other receivers. I hate it but it would be worse right before the season started.

Have any of you doom and gloomers taken a peek inside the WR room? We are stacked like cordwood at that position. Losing Pickens hurts like hell, but we have options. How about the Big O? Even without Pickens we can still field four WR “and” two TE’s in every play. Plus we have RB’s who can catch the ball. This is where Kirby’s recruiting and depth pay off. Opposing DC’s won’t know whether to shit or go blind. Dawgs will still get it done.

Bama lost Waddle mid season and still won the Natty. All of the stacked talent Kirby has worked on should insulate us from this snake bite. Yea it still sucks but we have catchers everywhere and our schedule sets up nicely to provide a long enough runway to develop the young guys enough in time for post season.

Yeah it sucks and yes my first thought was here we go also followed by why cant we have nice things. That quickly ended the pity party next man up is a 4 or 5 star we are stacked at WR. Its part of the game and he won`t be the last man hurt.

No time for feeling sorry for us. Time to reload and go get some.

Just going by what Kirby said it sounds like there is a reasonable chance to still play this season. It`s his money season he needs to prove he is worthy of a high draft pick. Of that I have no doubt it will be drilled into his head. The NFL does not care about potential. Production matters if you want a life changing contract.

I don’t think that he’ll play this season. Remember how bad Saban got killed by the media and some fans because he allowed Waddle to play in the championship game? And then really got killed when Waddle limped off the field?

HE B GONE, NLI is gonna be the thing, that’s gonna be the thing, that’s been the thing away longer than we ever thought. Deservedly as this may be the horse is out of the barn. Hate it for GEORGE, talented, character ehhh, TBD. On to the NFLer’s where all you gotta do is show up and perform ask Isiah Wilson, cut, cut. Show up do the right thing and be a millionaire. Somewhere, we lost the fact it’s about actually going to class, being a good guy. Ask Malcolm Mitchell ! Yea, I wanna see the Dawgs win a natty but somewhere there is a correct order to go through. If you believe all those 3 deep at Bama, are there for a degree, education I got a tropical island home in Nevada that for sale. I am not against NLI, just forgo the imagery of those kids being students. Good Luck, George, see ya, naw I don’t watch the NFL till a few of the wild card playoffs narrow it down. Speaking of playoffs, playoffs, cut to the Jim Mora commercial. Of which there is gonna be 300 or so per half and don’t look for the Dawgs on the radio dial cause you gonna pay a internet fee, which don’t align with tv. Just gosh darn it, we lost our minds…… keep them donor $$$ coming, we love ya’ll at Butts-Mehre.Will post the student athletes on the Dean’s List after this commercial break.
