Over/Under on when the Senator has to close it down is 100 comments. Place your bets.
No chance it makes 100 (not counting this one). I’m hammering the under.

Hang on guys, we can DO this. We can have nice things. We don’t have to burn the whole thing down.
Here, let me distract you with some Herschel Walker highlights:

you got any of them pixels?
Remember how for years everyone was worried about protecting the sanctity of women’s sports because it was important for women to have the space to compete and find success in athletic competition against other women where they would not be compared to or be forced to compete against men? While I am 100% sympathetic to the biological men and women who transition or who haven’t transitioned but feel trapped in a body they reject, and have no problem using their preferred pronouns out of common decency and respect, this is where we as a society have to draw the line.
The two non-transitioned transgirl track athletes in CT have obliterated the biological female competition and now own all the records in their events.
Transwomen playing rugby against biological women are dominating their sport and hurting those biological women.
Fallon Fox went out and caused extreme damage to woman in MMA because she has the advantage of being a biological male, meaning she has greater skeletal and muscular density and strength to give her punches and kicks more speed and power.
At the end of the day, how far are the Wokeists going to take this? Because if I’m a woman’s CBB coach, I’m looking to recruit a starting five of all transwomen who are good at basketball to play for me. Or maybe just get one to play center or power forward and allow her to completely dominate with above the rim basketball skill. Same with track. Or swimming. Or softball. If I’m a coach, I’m salivating at the possibility of getting one or two transwomen on my team to be the difference maker to leading us to a national title at the expense of biological females, because at the end of the day if the Wokeists keep telling us there’s no difference between women and transwomen (when everyone with a brain and a cursory understanding o biology and anatomy knows there is), I’m going to take them at their word.
I never thought I’d live to see the day where people are actively campaigning for the end of women’s collegiate sports. Up is down. Black is white. Cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria.
It’s so inspiring to hear people who never cared about women’s sports (Corch, I’m speaking generally, not directly at you) suddenly become passionate about them.
Just like it was so cool yesterday to hear an outpouring of concern for black Americans.
What a country, eh?

I think that misses the point. Just because we aren’t consumers of women sports doesn’t mean that we can’t recognize a violation of fair play. I’m very progressive on most matters related to gender issues (two kids in the LGTBQ community), but in my mind, they have to find a way to solve the natural biological advantages that males have to create a level playing field. I like Martina Navrotalova’s stance.
I hear what you’re saying, but after seeing the legislation introduced in North Carolina that includes this doozy…
Senate Bill 514 would also compel state employees to immediately notify parents in writing if their child displays “gender nonconformity” or expresses a desire to be treated in a way that is incompatible with the gender they were assigned at birth…
… I’ll just say that I lack your equanimity. Most of what is out there now doesn’t have jack shit to do with leveling a playing field, because most of the assholes pushing this crap have never seen the playing field. It’s just more culture war posturing.

That’s the crazy from the other end.
We are beset from all sides by assholes.
Wow. Yeah, that’s ridiculous. Thank you for the response.
I have three daughters who all played sports in high school, so I definitely get your side. I just believe most of the folks raising this stuff aren’t acting in good faith, which makes me skeptical about the debate as a whole.
I’ve been noodling this a lot. Whether an opinion or legislation is raised in good faith or bad faith, should that affect if I agree with it? I lean toward no, but I know many who vehemently say yes.
Unless intent is obvious, we must look to the outcome because intent can be difficult to judge. Again, Realpolitik.
NC legislature famously tried to strip power away from the governor once a D was in office, so general assholeness from that bunch isn’t unusual.
Realpolitik is the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Right now, as someone who continues to be aghast at the lunacy of the Woke, I’ll take any friend I can get. Any port in the storm as the saying goes, but really, we as a society need to repair and put back up the Big Tent, Senator. It’s the only way to beat the crazy.
I’m ready to put that Big Tent back up, and if that includes people like Ben Shapiro and Bill Maher and Thomas Sowell and Bari Weiss and Jordan Peterson and Sarah Silverman and all manner of disaffected liberals sharing space in there with centrists and conservatives, then so be it.
My kid plays soccer at a university, she’s a freshman. Hopes it doesn’t FOCK things up….
As a matter of a fact, watching her now…
You heard it hear first. If you didn’t air your concerns in the Senator’s comments before now you never cared in the first place. 😂
We have been creeping into this landscape for a while. Shame on anyone that doesn’t see the harm and injustice being perpetuated on women / girls.
What if I told you that you could succinctly get your point across without writing a novella?
It’s your choice – read it or ignore it.

I’m sure I could’ve been more succinct.
I’m not. 😉
I mean, as we see in the blog, “could’ve” is carrying a lot of weight in that statement.
I’d say he fucking nailed it.

Brevity is the soul of wit. 2,000 word diatribes in comment sections is the sign of a blowhard.
Or, as said previously, I used the exact right number of words to say what I needed to say and not one word more.
YMMV, of course, but there it is.
Says the man with sand between his toes.
“According to Drs. Marci Bowers, MD and Sherman Leis—two transgender health experts interviewed by Bloody Elbow’s Stephanie Daniels—Fox should biologically have no natural physical advantages over her fellow female opponents due to her years of gender reassignment and horomone therapy.”
Fox fought in 6 matches, 7 years ago, won 5 lost 1. Ive seen other “Born-females” do just as much damage to other “born-females” in MMA fights.
Except those reports have been thoroughly and laughingly discredited.
Transwomen who transition after the onset of puberty will always have denser muscular and skeletal structure, will always be faster, and will always be stronger, than biological females.
I’m sorry that science is so difficult for trans-rights activists, but we cannot change the fact that home sapiens is a sexually dimorphic species.
I would love to see your scientific sources – genuine request being made here.
The studies trotted out by trans-activists and Wokeists always deal with the amount of testosterone in the blood as opposed to the actual, biological differences that exist.
Also, here’s another consideration: Why, if there are no biological differences between trans people and people who stay their biological sex, is it that no one cares about or opposes trans men playing men’s sports?
The fact that the trans activists and Wokeists never have a good answer to that question is all the answer you ever need for why it is important to protect women’s sports for biological women.
Should Oscar Pistorius have been accommodated or excluded?
I don’t know the answer to that question, but he definitely shouldn’t have murdered his girlfriend, lol.
Man, your logical fallacies are so consistent and psychologically pernicious, Dr. Freud would label them “phallacies” given your need to constantly spew them everywhere.
Pistorious competed in the Special Olympics. If trans women want to develop their own divisions for competitions, then they should. They should not compete against biological women because they have a scientifically-proven advantage in muscular, skeletal, and even vascular and respiratory advantage. Period.
Not to go all Google on you again, but Oscar Pistorius ran in the actual Olympic Games.
And then he killed his girlfriend.
Also, if we’re picking nits, he also competed in the Paralympics, not the Special Olympics.
Paralympics is what I meant to say. Thank you, guy.
Oscar ran in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
You sure are wrong a lot.
No, I am wrong about that, sure. It all boils down to: Does the blades he wore give him an advantage over the other men running or do they approximate their ability to run? The answer is no.
Trans women have a scientifically proven biological advantage over biological women because human beings are a sexually dimorphic species. They have the skeletal and muscular structures along with the respiratory and vascular systems of biological men, all of which give them a distinct and undeniable advantage against biological women in sport.
Tell me I’m wrong about THAT, Derek. Please do. We already know the kind of person you are in your heart because you told us yesterday. Now tell us all you’re 100% completely in the bag for ideological activism over scientific fact so we know what is (or isn’t) in your brain.
Yesterday you wrote how you like to laugh at people, but what you’re not hearing is the rest of us laughing at you.
Many people feel that not having calves and feet that have to be trained, get sore and/or get injured is an advantage.
These are people with the ability to think.
That said, the real issue isn’t absolute fairness anyway. Its a question of degree, proportionality and inclusion.
I mean couldn’t you take the Jimmy the Greek historical observation and decide that the field between the races isn’t level?
Somethings you just don’t make a big deal of you just move forward.
One of those things is not investigating whether Sally the tennis player was born a hermaphrodite and had the dick removed.
We’ll all be ok not knowing. We really will.
your usa today link is an opinion (echo chamber) paper, not a scientific article. do you have anything else?
your rugby reference has data but does not cite the source of that data.
If you have a scientific journal paper that would be great. I can search for one if you don’t. You just said science a lot so I thought you might have some scientific articles.
The links in the article are linked to studies. Nice try.
Same statement I posed to Derek:
Tell us all that biological men do not have more dense skeletal and muscular structure than biological females. Also tell us that biological men do no have larger hearts and lungs with which to better process oxygen and then increase the ability of fast-twitch muscle fibers (of which they also have more) than biological females can or do.
Tell us all you reject the scientifically proved fact that human beings are sexually dimorphic and that there is no difference in being male or female sexed.
Because that is what you’re saying when you drone on about disproven studies that only talk about hormones as to why there’s no difference, and that ignore that actual differences that provide a distinct advantage.
Tell us you deny science.
Speaking of hormone therapy, as this issue progresses, will it also open up a new can of worms as far as PED testing is concerned? Will there have to be a separate set of parameters for trans athletes? I can see where testosterone supplementing could be an issue for trans males, but I’ll admit I’m totally ignorant on what other substances may raise concerns.
If you’re paying attention, no one other than religious nutjobs has any issue with trans males competing in sports with biological males, because they know no matter how much testosterone they take, trans males have less dense skeletal and muscular structure meaning they’ll never be as fast or strong, and their vascular and respiratory systems mean they don’t process oxygen with near the amount of the same effeciency as biological males, which again, puts them at a disadvantage.
Again, there is a reason why those with common sense and without an agenda to agitate on behalf-of are saying trans women should not compete in the same sports as biological women, but don’t care about the inverse.
So the big kicker here is “naturally occurring.” Caster Semenya has naturally occurring higher levels of testosterone, yet she is now required to take medication to reduce her testosterone levels if she wants to compete. This is odd because lots of athletes have natural advantages that allow them to excel – Mike Phelps for example. Why should Semenya be subjected to special provisions?
The international governing bodies have all the data on normal ranges of various hormones. If something is out of sorts, it will get noticed. Thus, no special requirements are needed.
The testosterone is not what gives them the advantage. Y’all really need to read more.
The advantage does come from hormones. The advantage comes from the scientific fact that homo sapiens are sexually dimorphic, which means that no matter what, all things being equal, men are stronger and faster than women, and can process oxygen with more efficiency than women, all of which provides a trans woman with distinct advantages over biological women in sport.
Again, why does no one (but religions nut jobs) have a problem with trans men competing against males in sports?
The advantage DOES NOT come from hormones.
Wanna buy a bridge?
You need to add a few more thousand words…
I’m fairly certain I used as many words as I needed to use to say what I wanted to say, and not a word more.
I can understand how you would feel, however, though I don’t believe you are going to hell and I would respect your personal pronoun preference, I would not want you to take away from biological women because your advantages are always there regardless of hormone treatments.
Not everyone who wants to protect a biological woman’s space to safely and fairly compete on a level playing field is a religious nut job, and the concerns are valid. Thanks!
The phrase “political wankery” always makes me chuckle a bit when you tag that way.
As for the rest, not a damn thing we can do about it.
I look forward to the future when one of these male transgendered athletes has to take a season off because they got pregnant! lol…
More like, “Oh, girl.”
Hmmm…nobody’s mentioned the “voting legislstion” part of this tweet.
Quoting Han Solo “I got a bad feeling about this”
I thought that would get the lion’s share of the comments, tbh. Shows what I know.
I’m so far cautiously optimistic we have weathered the storm.
(Did I just talk about a no-hitter, while a pitcher is throwing a no-hitter?)
An admirable and unexpected show of humility and class, Senator!
That horse got the bloody shit beat out of it yesterday.
With MLB already feeling instant regret about the lies and Woke rage they allowed themself to be hoodwinked by, the NCAA can pound sand and they better be ready to look at the 30 or so states with more restrictive voting laws than Georgia has.
Where are the signs of regret?
You understand that “restrictive” and “racially motivated” are different right?
Isn’t it like saying: “well sure in Georgia if you’re black you cant eat inside the restaurant, but in Montana everyone has to order delivery!”
Atlanta missed out on the 2020 Final Four due to the pandemic and can’t be considered hosting it again until 2027 due to contractual obligations. The could lose the opening rounds in the next few years.
Will be interesting if the NCAA goes ahead and makes a statement that they will move future tournament sites if other states follow Georgia.
Also, I thought the GOP was in favor of keep politics out of sports?
I think my brain moves faster than my fingers.
The only thing more tiresome than “woke” is seeing it repeatedly capitalized.
I think you mean Awomen.
You have been noted for your privilege. Expect your cancellation to be on its way.
There are some things that are so cut-and-dried wrong that it makes me wonder have we lost all common sense. It’s not a morality, decency or religious question. Just plain old right versus wrong. This “so open minded your brains fall out” attitude will lead to a bad end. It’s simply out of control.
The costs of freedom are too great to bear.
Ah, so we’re doing catch phrases are we? How ’bout this one, leg.
Ruck up or shut up, boy.
I’m pretty sure you haven’t experienced any costs for your freedom. Just the benefits.
The chances Derek has done any uniformed service, civil service, soup kitchen work, non profit work, paramedic, nurse, are extremely slim. Its true of every Marxist.
Okay, and now we arrive at the ad hominem portion of the discourse.
It would be a real shame to close this comment thread down. Just sayin’.
We were so close!
Well, with Derek’s entry into this discussion (it was going so well) we’ve basically entered into the part of the story where it will all go to hell.
But, at least like with yesterday, we now know that Derek and others like him also don’t believe that Homo sapiens are a sexually dimorphic species with distinct advantages in sport given to biological males over biological females, so, that’s something.
You made it
Based only on the Senator’s considerable patience.
Under 100. Seems like the perfect time.
Right now, somebody out there has their index finger hovering over their mouse, to press “post comment” on a remark that they know is going to burn it all down. Don’t do it! I feel like a hostage negotiator.
“Here’s a little secret of the biz…they all jump…they always jump…”
(Best in Show)
I love Best in Show, but I feel like, because of the wonderfully beautiful musical soundtrack component, that A Mighty Wind is Christopher Guest’s magnum opus.
I would pay actual money to go to a concert to listen to Mitch & Mickey and The Folksman.
Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara are absolute treasures. Canadian Treasures to be sure, but treasures.
Second City TV makes a movie. I loved that show and that movie.
FYI I don’t think Marxist is necessarily either a pejorative or personal. It’s a political ideology like Democrat, progressive, or Republican.
Depends on how its used:
I asked the guy in the tomb of the unknown soldier to say “yes” if he was FOR the NC transgender bill and to remain silent if he was against it.
I suggest you all respect his position. After all, he’s earned it.
When I visit the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier I don’t say anything.
You don’t converse with the dead audibly Russ.
I mean come on.
I bet those transphobes can’t even identify the transgender athlete here.
Maybe transgender women are just better women?
Nappy Boner, you’re the best! I mean it!
This is the most pathetic post I’ve ever read here.
A new low….
The misanthropy is confirmed. There is no hope.
Someone turn off the lights and hit the self-destruct button.
Time to shake the etch a sketch and start anew….
…. made all the lamer by the self-Like. Peak Lame.
“oh boy” ….. Given that the Senator has the most creative headline mind no way that’s a coincidence! 😁
I have about as much confidence in the NCAA as I have in any state legislature. Which is to say close to none.
This the best take on the comment thread. If it gets shut down now, at least we’ll have that victory.
No faith in state legislatures, huh? Or irony abounds.
I’m posting a reply to this statement in the playpen, because if I posted it here, it will ge the thread shut down and now I’m personally invested in getting us to 100 posts.
I won’t be reading it. My comment speaks for itself, re: state legislatures.
I’ll go back there. (Posted to help the thread reach 100)
Hah! Good man. Definitely not a brokedick malingerer, squad bay lawyer who never got promoted to NCO during their 4-year enlistment as I imagine others would be. We had a couple of those guys at The Stumps.
Now, that’s not to diminish all 4-year Lance Coolies, because some of those guys are exactly who you want next to you in a foxhole, it’s just maybe they got a few NJPs on their record where they had to stand before the Full Bird and get spanked so their cutting scores could never recover.
I would love a translation of that, Corch!
Hah! I don’t even though if Ranger got all that, because a lot of it was Marine-speak, and even though we’re cousins Army-speak and Marine-speak are like French and Italian. They’re similar, and come from the same root, but they’re different branches of the tree.
I read you lickn’ chickn’ there, leatherneck. I served with a few Marines in schools, had a few swapped branches and worked for me as Doggies and somehow a retired drifter E-8 was in my employ for a couple years before he left to build ABMs in Alaska for KBR. Significant increase in salary.
From them I learned that Rangers are like Marine Recon, only with adult leadership and newer equipment.
Hah. See, we think Rangers are Marines who jump out of planes considering that they teach us dumb Privates and PFCs stuff in SOI that only Army platoon leaders and Rangers get taught.
Check this out:
My table mate at the JOC on balad was a marine f-18 pilot from top gun. Once we did our bonfides, Im like, ok, im about to ask some questions. Lol. He was used to it , he knew I was about to rag, he was the epitome of fighter pilot, bc he never gave me shit, bc he knew he was cooler than me. I miss killing people with him.
Even though Marine fighter pilots can be attached to carrier groups, I always liked the fact that they don’t refer to themselves as AVIATORS.
Always reminds me from that scene from Top Gun, I know completely unrealistic except for this one part which was totally realistic where Kelli McGillis says, “Oh, so you’re a pilot,” and Tom Cruise corrects her, “A Naval AVIATOR.”
I was air and he was fires. 2 guys that had more authority and power than any commander in garrison. That’s why I went to spec ops. I mean, he was a top gun marine, theres been like 25 of them ever or something. We hit it off so good, I was older and more rank, he was smart and quick. That dude and I could probably run any air ops anywhere.
As an ignoramus I thought pilots were pussies. Then I worked closely with some. They’re like most at the tip of the spear. Tough, dedicated and intelligent. Except more. It takes a special kind of human to be a pilot one tour and then get on the ground with us Grunts the next. Many of us wore silk and later polypropylene booties slathered in Vaseline under our socks
Silk underwear though? Fuckn pilots.
You how now you could distinguish a pilot’s wife?
They were the real pretty ones, the 10s if you will, hanging out at the NCO Club trying to pick up the Rangers.
That’s opposed to the Ranger’s wives that were still working the brass pole at the basic Enlisted club.
Lol. Right on
My ex was so beautiful it hurts. My last tour she hooked up with someone from 7th group. The rest is me ruining my life and money. This hit way ro close bra
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I’m forced to fish and vacation with folks from out of state. My apologies, sir.
Somedays I really miss putting on my cammies in the morning after PT and a shower, going to morning formation, and then sitting around all day in the barracks waiting and waiting and waiting.
It was a much simpler life, that’s for sure.
I have a neighbor who was a squid in the Carter years. He stated how he missed the Navy and eight hour days and weekends off, good chow with nobody fucking with ya. Didn’t I miss that?
He did not believe when I told him the truth of Grunt life. Weeks turning into months in the field, C-rats or MREs most meals, two or three hours sleep per day, bathing and shaving with cold water from a steel pot (I don’t know how they bathe with Kevlar helmets now) and hump, hump, hump and hump a 100+ lb rucksack. Best job I ever had.
Tony did some research and all he had to say was he was glad he joined the Navy. He got to sail around the world in the beautiful ocean shitting all over Marine life.
I’m paying for that now. Damn near falling apart. But I’m happy and optimistic for the Dawgs future.
You sound like Uncle Dave, my former Company First Sergeant, who was in Marine Recon.
As much as I enjoyed it, it was time time to go. I have mad respect for anyone that can spend 20-35 years doing that. That goes for all you civilians putting on a tie every day also. That was where I headed as an RA officer. An office job behaving as the gentleman I was raised to be. I never wanted the discipline it takes to succeed in that environment. I liked being an independent asshole that could say, “Fuck this shit! I’m going somewhere else.”
After twenty years of dealing with the vagaries of .gov lettered agencies I finally said that despicable phrase that ain’t a Ranger word.
I quit. I have “Fuck You” money and it’s time to look after my health. I can’t do that and run my business and hang out on GTP all day.
This piece of this thread may be one of the best sections of comments I have ever read on here.
Mu best story is how i got a medal from the naval captain in the battle of fuluja
Hurry up and wait.
We hated it at the time, but man, I’d give just about anything to be 20 again sitting around the barracks, listening to music, and staying off the skyline so we could get through a Field Day Thursday early.
I’m sure I had a lot of wait time. Just don’t remember it because I was asleep. Waiting for a dental appointment? Sleep. Anywhere, anytime. The most egregious snoozing was in Ranger School before jumps. Those droning aircraft engines were hypnotic. Sleep until the six minute warning. Then back to sleep. One minute. Back to sleep. Outboard personnel stand up! Now by God your ass is awake. If you ain’t you will be when you put your knees in the breeze and that opening shock sends your testicles up past your liver and into your throat.
Got paid $150 extra per month for too.
Hahahaha. I’m such a civilian pu$$y.
I believe reasonable people can be open minded, progressive, and respectful to the gender issues in the world today while still being against trans male athletes competing in women’s sports.
Exactly. To use someone’s preferred pronouns is all about not being a dick.
This is Jordan Peterson’s view exactly. Sincerely. If the individual is making the request, it should be honored. But not at the end of the state’s bayonet! I feel like I should some awesome Latin phrase to use here but my heart’s just not in it, lol. Not on Friday.
Yep. At the end of the day we all must have the freedom to be a dick if we so choose. Making it illegal to misgender someone or not use their preferred pronouns is tyranny.
The mayor in Ghostbusters 2 had it right. To paraphrase, “It’s everyone’s God-given right to be assholes to each other.”
But we don’t have to be. If we so choose.
Pretty sure it’s time to start a National divorce. It can and should be an amicable one but probably won’t be.
IF you’re a Male, you play Male sports, if you’re a Female, you play Female sports. Damn, this ain’t that hard. We are finding solutions that didn’t have problems.
If only Branch Rickey viewed the world with such simplicity.
Okay, now you’re not even trying with your logical fallacies as this is laughably bad even for you, Derek.
Derek… Branch Rickey DID view the world with such simplicity, exactly as PTC Dawg described it.
Unless your’e telling us Jackie Robinson was a trans female.
Also, this conflation with trans activism, specifically about sports, and Civil Rights as pertains to sports as a gross misunderstanding of history as well as biology.
But you do you, dude. We’ll be over here having a chuckle. LOL.
There was a time when people of your ilk thought much differently about those things:
Which is why there had to be a Branch Rickey and a Jackie Robinson.
Without those retrograde and inaccurate views of the world, human progress would happen much much quicker.
Watch that video closely. Can’t you see Corch-like confidence in his delivery despite the complete nonsense being spewed?
LOL. “People of my ilk.”
As if we all didn’t see you expose yourself for who you really are yesterday Derek, and now you’re speaking about Jackie Robinson after that is just… wrong.
Here’s what I have on my side: Not bullshit, disproven eugenics like the racists who tried to keep black people out of baseball but actual biological science that proves human beings are a sexually dimorphic species in which biological males have distinct advantages over biological females, and that it does pertain to trans women competing against biological females in sports.
Again, your logical fallacies are so easily refuted it’s a wonder you continue.
So here it is, everyone. In two days Derek has let us know what’s in his heart and what’s in his head, and the answer is… not much.
My point in this context is a simple:
Who cares? How often will it come up? Just let people be. It’ll be ok.
We’ve had transpeople for as long as we’ve had gay people.
Did the Kinks’ Lola end western civilization?
We made it past 100!
Who had the over?
We have a serious Mental Illness problem in the world today.
Lil Pat can be a lizard paraplegic if that’s what his/her head tells him/her.
Transgender is no different than people who chop off their limbs because they felt like the limbs shouldn’t be there. It’s Mental Ilness.
Substitute “gay” for “transgender” and you have centuries of religious enlightenment on the human condition.
Maybe we can pray the trans away?
#Sience is on our side.

While gender dysphoria is real and trans-activists and the Woke have made it impossible for psychologists and psychiatrists to even attempt to treat people, especially children, who are suffering from this because to them their activism and ideology is more important than anyone’s mental health, no, not all trans people are suffering from mental illness.
While you’ll never hear me say “gender is fluid” or there are “78 genders” or any of the other ideologically-fueled soft-science bullshit that doesn’t have one medical or scientific bonafide behind it, there is room to acknowledge that for the people who are trans, being trans is somewhat analogous to a spectrum. Not a spectrum of mental illness, but a spectrum in how someone’s brain is wired either neurologically or chemically to make that person not view themselves as their biological sex in large or small ways.
The biggest problem with your belief and the beliefs of trans-activists and the Woke who will cancel and ruin the lives of any doctor or psychologist who try to treat trans people who are really suffering mentally is that all of you create a stigma around being trans or having gender dysphoria that only hurts people. It never helps.
Trans people are the subset of human beings who have the highest suicide rate, and the Woke lie to us and tell us it’s because they can’t or didn’t transition or whatever, but then we see that the suicides occur in a higher rate from those currently transitioning or even post-op because the hormones and gender reassignment surgeries didn’t “fix” them like the trans-activists and Woke people promised them it would. What would help these people the most is dealing with their gender dysphoria if that is what they have as opposed to a need to transition, but again, the Woke have done so much damage to the kinds of mental health professionals who would’ve helped these people that there are too few or maybe even none who are willing to handle that any more.
We need to be more understanding, not less. Less stigmatizing, not more.
I think they need to play more soccer.
But you don’t want to let them…..
When did I ever say I’m for barring trans women from competing in sports?
Trans women can definitely compete against the biological males they are closest to in sports aptitude. Or they can create their own division.
Playing against biological females does the biological females a disservice.
So the real question is Derek: Why do you hate women?
Your premise is false.
I just haven’t seen some post-dick athlete hurting any women’s interests. Until I do I’m not worrying about it. At all.
We get it. You don’t believe biological women should have a safe space to compete against other biological women. That they should have their own sports records an accomplishments that stand apart from biological men.
We get it, Derek. You hate women.
Can you name a post-dick athlete?
So not only do you hate women, but your reading comprehension is just as poor as it always was.
Ill take that as a “no.”
You spend a lot of energy on it anyway which is curious.
What if a dude wanted to compete as a dog in the Iditarod?
Have you worked out the numbers?
Or, as I suspect, do you hate dogs?
Again, I already have. So your question is moot.
We get it. You hate women.
Please answer my specific question. I will not play your straw man bullshit.
Prove you are who I know you are, or prove me wrong.
Remember when Fallon Fox beat Tamikka Brents, gave her a concussion, and broke 7 orbital bones in her face? Never happened.
Remember how a team of 15 year old boy soccer players dominated the greatest women’s soccer players ever assembled in the history of the world?
And this wasn’t even an All-Star team of the best 15-year old boy soccer players from around the world or a country like Brazil that produces the best soccer talent in the world.
No, this was a regional team of AMERICAN soccer players from Houston, TX beat the shit out of the best women’s soccer team that has ever played the game.
But sure… tell me how trans women who are biologically male should get to compete with biological women.
Why do you hate women, Derek?
Your post has been labeled “misogyny” by wapo of all people:
Seems you’re tour of bullshit continues unabated.
Where will you be wrong next?
LOL, okay, Derek.
We get it. You don’t believe biological women deserve a safe space to compete against other women and must be FORCED to compete against biological males as well, who will dominate their sport because biological science is undefeated in reality, just not in your little Woke fantasies.
We get it. You hate women. So by all means, use the power of government to force biological women to compete against biological men. I can’t imagine a more misogynistic or hateful thing than that.
I’m not the one insulting our World Champion Women’s National Soccer Team. You are.
Why do you hate America?
I’m not the person who wants our government to force biological women to compete in sports against biological males.
That’s you, Derek. Why do you hate women?
Force? Where did I say force?
It’s your side attempting to use the police power of the state to force certain things.
There’s your force you america hating misogynist!
Why do you want to force biological women to play sports against biological men?
“Sides” you just reek of tribalism. You’ve done it to me to. I’m not even republican. I don’t know why your so hurt, but theres help.
I asked you first, and I’m not the one posing straw man answers to questions that haven’t been asked.
Rapinoe, on wapo of all places, has been quoted as saying Corch should be cancelled for misogyny as well as a gross lack of patriotic spirit.
Dude, you know we got you.
We know exactly who you are, now. We know what’s in your heart and in your head. You told us. I think we’ll all take you at your word.
Eventually Derek, people can’t help but tell on themselves, and now we got you.
Wapo, of all places, has sent your posts to a cryptographer and confirmed that you are, in fact, the Zodiac killer.
Now the world knows what a monster you really are.
It’s funny seeing you rage against the dying of the light, but you screwed up, Derek. We seen behind the curtain. The mask is off. Insert other appropriate metaphors or analogies here.
You’ve told us who you are and no one here will forget it. You have no power here.
You can have “power” here?
That’s a pretty weird and bizarre thought to have and express.
I guess Wapo, of all places, was right about you.
LOL. You have no power here. We see you, Derek.
We see you.
“We” have drugs for Schizophrenia corch. “We” thought all of you folks in there should know. Maybe one of them will agree to take the pill.
It’s slightly more complicated than that. Waving your hand and dismissing this as “Mental Illness” is ill informed and unproductive.
Nah. It truly is mental illness, otherwise the suicide rates wouldn’t be so high.
As I said, the suicide rates are so high because trans-activists and the Woke have made it impossible for doctors to treat people with ACTUAL gender dysphoria without having their professional and personal lives ruined in part because of people who think the way you do.
It’s a vicious circle of ideology devoid of actual compassion.
Wut? Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder/illness. It needs to be treated by a Psychologist, period.
But right now it’s one of the least-treated serious diagnoses there is because trans-activists, the Woke, academia, and the media will go after and ruin their lives, in part because for so long most people looked-upon ALL trans people as having a mental disorder and not just those with gender dysphoria. So in the face of one kind of ignorance they enforce another kind of ignorance, and people are dying.
That is what ideology does, on both sides.
Its like in the dsmv even
Chromosome lives matter
Chromosomes are a social construct!
Liberals are on the side of science with their concerns over climate change. Liberals are opposed to science on this issue because their social concerns have overtaken logic. Given that the liberals want to revise their view of historical figures in light of current ideology, should Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner be retroactively awarded the women’s decathlon gold medal from the 1976 Summer Olympics? Oh, wait, there’s no women’s decathlon event.
I agree. Conservatives are very consistent in being aggressively anti-science which is superior to be pro-science almost always or something something something….
Tribalism. Sweeping generalism. And bunk. Its all you do. Endless tribalism.
500 climate experts would disagree
(Sorry, Senator, can you remove my duplicate comment above? Thanks)
You might be surprised to learn one of the pioneers in transgender people in sports is a UGA grad. Dawgs come in all shapes and sizes.
I play soccer. And I was pretty good (semi-pro, club-pro, ODP, and international level competition). Was I good because I had some kind of competitive advantage? Maybe at first. But after medical treatments, the overwhelming majority of those advantages are not present. And if a trans-person has the family and community support to transition earlier in life (as many do today), there is no advantage. I still had to run miles and miles, train endlessly, and learn.
I actually got to be a better soccer player during my years on women’s teams. There were women who were bigger, as fast, more purely skillful, and much more aggressive than I ever was. But I was a student of the game, and I knew how to play. I never quit.
Because of greater opportunity and investment of resources ($), by the time I ended the majority of my amateur competition, women were much better than my generation. This is the era of Title IX. It matters.
I shouldn’t have to say this to anyone who has played sports but… sports are important to trans-people, the way they are important to other kids. Being a part of a team, friendships, cooperation, confidence, etc. has alot of positive outcomes that allow trans-people to live healthier and more empowered lives. I can only guess those of you who might not care about that probably don’t know what that means anyways.
Trying to force a trans-person to play on a team not in alignment with their gender identity is cruel, degrading, and emotionally devastating. Anyone who pushes that has no heart in my book. And it’s always the “mature” parents and adults who cause the problems – 99% of the kids (unless they were raised by those parents) are just fine and understanding. Maybe we should be listening to the kids more instead of treating them as objects in political culture war games.
Finally, most people speak on this as if there is only M and F. Well, you should read up on the various intersex conditions that blow that false-hood out of the water. And as for “genders” – you might want to read up on all of the various peoples around the world who have acknowledged the diverse genders of human beings for thousands of years.
These bills being introduced are just political games to keep a certain segment of the voting public engaged while catering to a minority of ignorant, prejudiced people who really believe I’m going to hell. Don’t worry, I’ll be bringing my sunscreen and bikini.
Please be healthy and safe Dawg fans. ❤
I totally respect this response, and I truly appreciate your willingness to weigh in. I have two kids who are part of the LGTBQ community. If everything you say here is true, I will back you 100%. I just want to be sure the science supports your position. In amateur (a cynical term, I know) sports we measure the advantages gained from red-cell-enhanced blood in cycling, to hormone therapy or HGH to within the tiniest amounts, just to ensure a level laying field. On the emotional side, I can’t even imagine what that’s like. I totally salute you for wading into the debate, and for being so gracious in the manner in which you did. Much respect. And yes, Go Dawgs!
If anything I’ve wrote helps even one parent, a child, or anyone else – then its worth all of the crap that follows. And yes, everything I’ve wrote here is true – I could have actually written much more. Like how a huge crowd of friends and fellow players cheered so loudly for me to play against the Women’s German National Team, that the coach finally put me in (even though I was a guest player). 🙂 A really great memory.
Also, for those of you posting photos of people you believe “don’t fit” in the picture because of their size or whatever – doing so really says alot more about you, than it does the situation in the photo. No one in the photo can tell their stories – so it seems like you just want to create reactionary shock – a frankly dishonest way to have a conversation.
When it comes to the health and emotional well-being of children and people, don’t we owe them more than reactionary provocations? Or are some people just expendable – like a fast food wrapper – in your worlds?
Be well ❤
I suppose some of your comments were intended for me. But I’m on your side. As a hardcore leftist, I can scientifically state that anyone who claims that one of the athletes shown here has a physical advantage is just ignorant of psychology.
Hey, if everything has gotta be equal, then this should be fine. Equal is a double edged sword though. Reverse wokeness in effect. Love it.
It’s not reverse Wokeness, but it is the Woke eating each other, which is hilarious.
You just have to understand the lunacy of their dogma.
So intersectionalism rewards points based on “victimhood status” and ranks groups of people on the ladder of victimhood based on how much of a “victim” they are.
So a woman is more of a victim than a white man, but less of a victim than a black man if the woman is white. Trans-people are to the Woke about as high as you can go on the ladder of victimhood, but of course, that ranking increases if they are a trans woman as opposed to a trans man, because remember, women are more a victim than men. Now, even though the Woke will tell you there’s no difference between trans women and biological women and trans men and biological men, that logic doesn’t apply to their intersectional Dogma. Trans people still retain their victimhood status.
I am not shitting you, this is literally what’s being taught in sociology and gender studies and racial studies classes across academia.
Now, this means it doesn’t matter if biological women are disadvantaged by trans women playing sports with them, because as trans women are higher on the ladder of victimhood, EQUITY demands that their wants and needs come before biological women.
This is the kind of crazy we’re up against, man.
Literally post the title of the literal textbook or links to other literal materials that you are literally referring to or it will be literally clear that you are literally fos.
You have no power here to demand anything of anyone, racist.
I only have the power to underscore that you’re literally fos.
There’s a nicer way to say that. I understand your position, but if you have anyone close to you sorting this stuff out, it’s totally fair to disagree. I just don’t like to mock people. And you know I respect you. This shit isn’t easy. There aren’t simple solutions, as tempting as they may be. I would have been in lock-step with your remarks until I watched people very close to me struggle with it. Just take my word for it as a father, it’s not easy for people struggling with these issues. Maybe our culture occasionally makes it more difficult. I’ll fully admit that. But that’s they world we live in.
Again, it’s not a matter of civil rights, because you and I would assume are in complete agreement about that aspect of being LGBTQ for likely many of the same reasons, with common decency and compassion being at the forefront.
This is an issue of where does one person’s right to play a sport as their chosen gender infringe on the rights of others who are biologically that gender.
In this specific case, the safety of all must be paramount, and the fact is no matter how much hormone therapy is done a trans woman wi always have a denser skeletal and muscular structure making them faster and stronger than biological women as well as larger respiratory capacity and heart giving them the ability to recover quicker and also process oxygen more efficiently to better engage fast twitch muschle fibers. These are biological facts. There is no disputing them. It’s not about testosterone in the blood it’s about the literal differences between biological men and biological women that come with being a sexually dimorphic species. To argue against that is lunacy.
Then after that you must consider the psychological effects of watching trans women dominate biological women in sport, setting records, and even receiving athletic scholarships at the expense of biological women. Look at what happened in CT in their high school track meets. That is what will happen if biological women are forced by our government to compete against trans women.
At some point, intersectional nonsense has to end and common sense has to take over.
Look at the arguments they make, and then look at how it is only about women competing against trans women. They never make the reverse argument because they know their arguments are bullshit. They know there still are differences between biological women and trans women, but ideology won’t allow them to admit what anyone with a few brain cells knows.
It sucks to have to say we must draw a line here, because I want people to be treated equally but in order to also treat people fairly, biological women must have a safe space where they can compete against other biological women. Where the records they set have meaning and their accomplishments are their’s alone. Common sense must win out.
My point is just that it’s not easy. For the kids. I know I don’t have the answers.
I guess that’s where you and I disagree then, because at the end of the day, we have to decide should trans women have the right to force biological women to compete against them in sport which if they have the skill, the trans woman would almost certainly dominate the biological woman.
This is why Serena Williams once said she would be the 200th-ranked player on the men’s tour. She understood there are biological advantages even the strongest, fastest, best woman can’t overcome.
That’s not what I meant. I just mean kids wrestling with sexual and gender issues. It was hard enough for us. All we cared about was getting to second base or if the stars aligned maybe to third. And I had my share or heartbreak with that. I’m not even talking about sports. I just mean in general figuring out what what you were into. In 1950, if you were gay, you knew you had to keep that under the cone, period. But now, in a more enlightened era, but not necessarily accepting by all generations, you have to think about what Grandma will say when you introduce her to your boyfriend. And that decision can lead to heartbreak on both sides. And I’m the generation in the middle. I say, live and let live. But I’m a preachers kid. Let’s just say my views are not universally held, lol.
No, I get that. I talk to my cousin a lot about his struggles with things like his first kiss or even approaching a boy in high school in the early 90’s where if you’re not 100% certain the boy is also gay you will be outing yourself.
You assume though – that all “biological women” are the same. They are not. 1) They have different bone densities. 2) They have different levels of hormones from low testosterone to higher. 3) They have differing levels of assertiveness and comfort with physicality. 4) They have different body shapes from short and wide to tall and thin – and everything in between.
Most trans-athletes fit within those ranges, which is how the current ‘regulations’ around the sport are being made and considered. But you argue some kind of biological woman purity and uniformity that doesn’t exist. Sorry.
Like I said before – I’ve played women who were six inches taller, 50 lbs heavier, and knew how to use it. I’ve also played women in other sports who would knock you into next Sunday. Watch flat track roller derby and tell me what is “normal” for a biological woman.
And let’s not forget what this is really about. We are being asked to clutch our pearls because of a few trans-athletes who seem to stand out from others – the shock factor. But from the legislation that follows – this is about denying rights to trans-people all together, including their right to what amounts to life-saving medical care.
First it was scary gay men. Then it was scary gay weddings. Then it was scary men in dresses in the bathrooms. And now its abnormal transgender kids playing sports hurting normal kids. Okay.. okay. we get the playbook by now. ::sigh:: ❤
We began with a place of respect even though we disagree, but I guess that’s over. I won’t let you gaslight or straw man me here or anywhere, I don’t care who you are.
I never once said anything about “scary gay men” or any of that other nonsense, so stop conflating my argument with that kind of bigotry and nonsense, which is exactly what you did there at the end.
What you say about skeletal and muscular density, as well as what you ignore about respiratory and vascular system differences, is simply not true. Yes, there are biological women who may be closer to those characteristics of a man, but they are few and far between. The fact is, the vast majority of biological men, including trans women, will have those biological advantages over the vast majority of biological women. It is not bigotry or prejudice to say this, it is common sense and scientific fact.
You get to have “your truth” for you and you alone, and I respect your struggle and I would do my best to not misgender you and would always use your preferred pronouns. But your truth is also known as confirmation bias and it doesn’t change the reality of what is.
My argument is that biological women must have their own protected space to safely and fairly compete in sports with other biological women without interference from biological men and trans women, and government should never take away this space and force them to compete with biological men.
If you disagree, can disagree respectfully with that other nonsense.
I’m a Ronald Reagan conservative. I still love the man, in spite of the perspective of his time. I am now a father of five, two of whom are on the spectrum. Children on the spectrum are much more likely, statistically, to be non-binary from a gender point of you. And I have two. There’s not anything anyone could throw at me that I haven’t used as bullet points before. But I have lived with this with my kids as they have matured. And regardless of my preconceived notions about gender or sexuality, all I can say is it is not easy for them. We can get all blue in the face and stamp our feet, but no matter what, it’s much more difficult for them. And they often feel like pawns in the culture wars. Some of you just have to take me word for it. I’d say I wouldn’t wish it on you, but my kids have made ME a better person. They are the best thing that ever happened to me. I’m not taking a side for our purposes here, I’m just saying that for the kids involved, it is so fraught and so scary to be transparent about their sexual and gender identity, if it goes against the grain. And I’m sure I’ve screwed this up a thousand ways to people more enlightened than I. But I’m still learning. I’m a total newb. 🙂
And while I understand all of that, and even made a similar argument above to someone who said being trans is only a mental disorder, none of what you’re saying here is in conflict with the point I’m making, which is we, as a species, are sexually dimorphic, which means there are only two sexes, male and female, and there are distinct biological differences between those two sexes with the male of our species being generally stronger and faster and bigger than the female of our species. That’s the thrust of what I’m saying. I recognize that because someone is born a male doesn’t mean they can’t find themselves knowing they want to live out their life as female gendered, but even in knowing that, there will always be biological differences and we can’t ignore that simply because they may hurt people’s feelings.
Worrying about hurting trans activists feelings is keeping people with actual gender dysmorphia, who can’t simply transition to be happy and live a full life as their true self, from getting the help they need in order to be happy, and people are dying and it makes me sick. I hate the politics and the ideology of all of this, not to mention the religious nut jobs.
I care about the people. As I know you do.
May we pause, for irony’s sake, to appreciate your statement, “that’s the thrust of what I’m saying…”
We can still be light-hearted, Corch. Love your posts. Except you still didn’t get me that translation! Lol
Okay, a brokedick malingerer is a guy who’s always going to the Battalion Aid Station for bullshit reasons to get out of PT or humps or field exercises. A squad bay lawyer is a guy who will tell you every which way you can circumvent the UCMJ, but he’s always wrong.
An NCO is a Non-Commissioned Officer. That is generally the first leadership position one achieves as an enlisted man either as a Fire Team Leader or even a Squad Leader. The first NCO rank for the Marine Corps is a Corporal. Most good Marines achieve this rank somewhere between their second and third year. Shitbags never get there in their first enlistment.
A Lance Coolie is a Lance Corporal, which is the rank right before Corporal and after PFC (Private First Class). Everyone gets a promotion from Private to PFC to LCPL based on time served, but to get a promotion to CPL, you have to have the cutting score to be promoted and your cutting score is based on things like your PFT (physical fitness test) score, your annual review from your superiors, your KD (Known Distance) Range (rifle range) score and rating, and if you’ve done the required learning and tests in the Marine Corps Knowledge to be able to be promoted.
Now, good Marines can have their rank reduced or have their cutting scores reduced if they’ve made stupid mistakes and get sent up for NJP (non-judicial punishment) which is punishment for non-court martialable offenses. Minor in Possession of alcohol is usually the big one here. I had a bunch of guys get taken down for that. Anyway, when you go up for NJP you bypass your Company Commander and go to battalion, which is headed up by a either a Full Bird (Colonel) or Half Bird (Lt. Col.), which is itself a weird nickname because a Lt. Col has a Silver Leaf Cluster not a bird, but anyway.
Hope that helps!
I am so in awe of that response. I weighed the military for a while before I went to college and there’s a part of me that regrets going straight to college. I think it’s invaluable experience, not just for the discipline but to grasp chain of command and what freedom costs. I’m 45 with a bum leg, which branch would take me now lol? I do have a law degree but who cares. I think there’s a part of every man who wonders if they could have cut it. Such a short season in life when that is an option and I respect the hell out of those who answered the call.
Thanks for being a good parent and going on a journey to be a better one. It matters more than you will ever know. ❤
Correct. And very sad. I’m mean, what’s next, girls joining the Boy Scouts? Oh wait………
When I was a Boy Scout I would have been all for it, camping trips would have been more fun. 😉
That’s what church youth groups are for!
See, I can still be cool, lol.
Girls could be Boy Scouts in the 70s. I was an Explorer in high school.
Could a boy be a Girl Scout? And why not?
Why have a boys and girls team? We are all the same so just have 1 basketball team or 1 golf team, just don’t water down my football team with a female kicker.
I really wish we had a different font to use when we type in sarcasm.
“It’s not like we’re saving ourselves,” quarterback Stetson Bennett said. “We’re going every play like we’re trying to do something. I don’t really know how to answer that. It’s not like we just flip a switch.”-- The Athletic, 11/13/22
