“G-Day made it obvious that Clemson football will be better everywhere else.”

I’m grateful to Graham Coffey for a thing or two, one of which is being the source for discovering the treasure that is Jeff Benedict, who posts at the Clemson FanSided site, Rubbing The Rock.  I think I linked to this post from a couple of months ago for a quick chuckle.  Now, Graham has pointed out Benedict’s latest work, a detailed study entitled, “Clemson football: UGA Spring game shows Tigers are further ahead“.  Dude brings the smack:

With four and a half months left before kickoff, we all will have to pace ourselves as we look to compare and precisely predict how this game turns out but one thing was clear after watching both teams spring scrimmages – Clemson football is far better than UGA at this point and the score will reflect that UGA is once again nothing more than pretenders instead of contenders.

I was worried how I might fill the gap this summer with the likelihood of a dwindling number of Your Daily Gator posts, but it looks like Jeff is volunteering to step up and help.  Enjoy.

That reads like the sort of shit we would talk amongst ourselves drinking beer seeing who could make the most outrageous boasts on how we would destroy whatever team was next up.

If Georgia beats Clemson, will Jeff Benedict come by night and poison our hedges? I ask because he seems to be so much like Harvey Updyke.

If one believes they are better cause they ride around in circles on a john deere tractor without a license/library card, good for you, should you feel like you are better when the grass gets cut and it grows back day after day, well good for you and if you feel good about the streaming haired qb that left klempson with his 10000 yards and 90ish T.D.s, plus that other badass taking his 5000ish rushing yards and 70 T.D.s to the next level….well feel good about that also, feels like a ton of acreage to replace, your taters may vary….

How did you not quote this gem?
“The Tigers are deeper and more talented at receiver, tight-end running back, linebacker, and special teams; they also have a better coaching staff.”

He actually typed Clemson is deeper and more talented at RB.

Hey Jeff, 42-18-4. How’s that for domination. On 4 September it will be exactly 7 years to the day that we won by three touchdowns. Love ya, mean it. Douche Canoe!

Wow maybe Kirby should cancel the game. “Clemson football will feature seven receivers who will all play on Sundays when their collegiate careers are over.”

In his defense, there are a lot of high school has-beens who play football at the park down the street from my house on Sundays, too, so this might be accurate.

I grew up across the Savannah River from those taters in the 60’s and 70’s. Lot of sidewalk Clemson fans painting tiger paws on everything in that obnoxious urnge color they wear to the game on Saturdays, hunting on Sundays and picking up trash during the week. The Clemson grads I know are a bit more reserved from the sidewalk crowd as they’ve been humbled and know their place. That’s the difference in taters and gators. All the gators I know are trash, degree or not. Hell, they even look alike. Faded purple and blue are remarkably similar colors, especially when stained with piss and puke. With that obnoxious orange and the same Sunday-morning-Bourbon-Street odor even the visually impaired can hate ’em.

I imagine a full ACC schedule + cupcakes makes a lot of ‘urnge players look like they’ll play on Sundays.

That’s the thing that makes hot takes from these G day type games dumb. Can’t take it as a “oh man, we’re awesome”. Admittedly, I have no idea who this tater is, but come on. Think of the ACC and Dabo – their spring game is probably all fireworks to get everybody fired up with some personnel groupings on the side. I am comfortable saying that Kirby and staff put a lot of work into who matches up against who in every position and will analyze all of the data they could possibly milk from it.

Can’t we strap this guy down like Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange and have him watch the Ohio State game over and over while tiger rag plays on a loop?

Clemson better get a lot more physical and quick or they are gonna get run in Charlotte.

Graham Coffey sits around watching Clemson’s 44-16 drubbing of Bama on a loop, chain snacking Cheetohs and then goes to his urologist complaining of an orange pecker.
      The boy ain’t too bright.

We get that punt block up 13-0 and that’s a beat down.

Yep. OSU just really smacked them around.

They looked soft. Soft is a difficult thing to fix.

I’m reminded of the time UF was 4.5 point favorites over Nebraska. Oh how I laughed and I laughed…

The good news is that with JT, now they get to pick how they want to get that whuppin.

I’m impressed by Jeff’s restraint. Only his laudable modesty kept him from mentioning that Clemson is also better than Ohio State, Bama, Brady’s Bucs, the ’72 Dolphins, the ’85 Bears, the Mean Machine, and the West Canaan Coyotes.

I mean, they’ve won two National Titles in the last five years. They’ve won three national titles since our last. At this point, they can say whatever they want. Obviously, their shitty conference isn’t a deterrence to them winning it all.
