“I thought it was going to be a very tightly contested ballgame.”

Northern Illinois went 0-6 last season and was a big underdog to Georgia Tech.  So what was the secret to its success last Saturday?

“After the first couple drives, I said, ‘Let’s get in ‘22’ and see who’s the tougher team,’ ” Hammock said Saturday night following the Huskies’ 22-21 upset win over the Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium. “We wanted to be physical and get after them and keep our defense off the field.”

In other words, to paraphrase Pat Dye, Tech wasn’t man enough to handle Northern Illinois.

  1. If they can’t handle NIU, we’re going to look like an 18-wheeler bearing down on them.

    Kirby, no mercy.

Tech under ole 404 isn’t man enough to handle anybody. Those guys think they are sooooo smart and in reality they are sooooo stupid. Bad hire after bad hire. I’m curious who the next third rater they will get as their next HC. The problem is at the AD and AB level though. Tuck Fech and that shitty old car they rode in on.

There “might” be 3 wins in there. And this is the critical year for Jeff. I know he has 4 more years on the contract after this. But recruits are not going to care. He will have basically shown no improvement – none. And while l Jeffery has benefitted from the transfer portal; that puppy cuts both ways. All it takes is for his RB & QB to cut and run and that’s it.

Finding out Coach WaHo 404 and the Bugs lost this game was the cherry on top of the awesome sundae that was the first Saturday of the CFB season.

Then I started Munsoning, as most Dawgs do when good fortune smiles upon us and wondered: If the first weekend is THIS good, it must be all down hill from here.

    On second thought,
Geoff the CAPRIS is working out very, very well. Losses to the Bulldogs from Citadel and the Huskies from Northern Illinois in back to back seasons!!
I think the bumbling bees don’t do well against canines!!
