TFW you get asked one too many obvious questions at the presser

This is amusing.

It’s funny, ’cause it’s true.

His team played hard and didn’t quit. Beamer might work out if they give him enough time.

Time will tell how his HC career plays out, but you can see why he’s such an great recruiter and player’s coach. The Beamers are good people and an asset to college football.

They didn’t look soft like 10RC. On tackles they would stick their head in there and lay the wood (I mean – beak) on every play.

Let him play us close or beat us once and that compassion will fade.

That’s right, Moe. Some of the boys need to learn the hard way I reckon. If he ain’t wearing Red n Black he’s the enemy. If he is wearing Red n Black and drinking red liquor then don’t turn your back on him.
All this man-love for Sam Pittman will fade rapidly 2 October.

I really hate to admit this. Coming into the game, I didn’t like Beamer. Not great explanation as to why. Maybe it’s just because he’s coaching South Carolina, where the 2nd dumbest and 2nd most annoying fan base in the SEC resides.

But I came out of the game with a lot respect for the guy, how hard those kids played, the over-all schemes they ran. He was enthusiastic and showed pure class after the game.

And when I saw this video – it kind of sealed it. I like him. Right now, he has the 22nd ranked recruiting class in the nation, 8th in the conference and ahead of both UT and Auburn (the other two schools with new coaches).

FWIW, seemed like there were as few as SCar fans in Athens as ever – usually you can’t swing a dead chicken without hitting one, but they seemed pretty few and far-between… Even as delusion as they usually are, guess they knew they were in for a whoopin (but like other’s have said, they really could have laid down towards the end of the third quarter but did not)….

Sports would be more fun if everyone talked like this.

  9. He’ll probably be a good college HC, if he can recruit. I like him as much a I can like anything SC related.

Honestly it was the “damn” at the end of the quote that made me laugh. I think what stuck out to me was how damn fast every one is. The whole defense can run like no defense I have ever seen at UGA. I am not sure we have ever had this volume of talent on any side of the ball……..ever.

Having married into a Hokie family and gotten to go to the Natty when they played FSU I’ve always liked the family. I still do.

If the press doesn’t want a truthful answer don’t ask Beamer. LOL

I could write a thesis on this, but I’ll be brief.

My son, who I have mentioned here is a D1 recruit (senior), verbally committed to South Carolina. This has all been imperfect for me as it relates to UGA. We are huge fans – a seminal moment in my son’s life was the 2018 Rose Bowl, which I attended with both my boys. But, alas, it was not to be at Georgia. I’m a “Double Dawg” and my dad played basketball for Georgia in the 1960’s. My family overall has 1,000 UGA degrees. Seriously, probably 50.

All that said, South Carolina has a wonderful staff – as far as we can tell right now – my son will have to live it out and then we’ll know for sure. Shane Beamer is a big part of that. He’s real. He’s the least weird, most genuine college football coach I have met – and I met a lot of them during my son’s recruitment.

So Go Dawgs (forever) and Go Cocks for the next few years, at least.!
