How lopsided was the Vandy win?

Let ESPN count the ways.

The Bulldogs scored twice as many touchdowns (eight) than the Commodores had first downs (four) — talk about a complete team performance.

Oof.

I was there…. Forget where I read it – but me thinks this is correct. Georgia’s Scout Team would have given them a better game than Vanderbilt did…

By the way, Dawg Crowd that was there was bigger than two years ago. I know there was a lot of speculation that there would be less – not true. There tickets available right up to game time. Took a sampling, and there were a lot of people that decided to drive up on Saturday and drive back the same day.

We made a weekend out of it. Sitting in the Gaylord hotel typing to y’all…

  2. Would’ve been #nice if we’d scored another TD. That’s the only negative thing I’ll say.

“We gotta pack 2 games worth of ass-kickin’ into one.”

    Mission accomplished

The box score DID show how badly Georgia beat Vandy. FOUR first downs. But I have to admit, I made a joke yesterday about a running clock in the second half, and I’m still stunned it actually happened. That’s definitely not in the box score.

No one will be able to dawg-grade this week’s game, at least…Arkansas is clearly, objectively good.

Heh, don’t underestimate them. They have reversed course on team’s better than Arkansas when the Dawgs have beaten them. I don’t care about Dawg grading or what the chatterverse is selling. None of it means anything it’s mostly bull crap. The Dawgs keep playing like they have been and they can’t be denied and no narrative is going have any relevance.

So true. All you can do is keep knocking down the pins that they stack up in your lane. Keep rolling strikes and it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

At the end of the 3rd Q I took a screen shot of current stats. We had 501 yards through 3Q (Vandy had 54). Our average starting field position per possession was on Vandy’s side of the 50. That’s absurdly magnificent.

Sometime soon we need to have a conversation about wtf is going on at Tech. Kinda wish we could play them this coming week and put a massive 62-0 whipping on their happy asses.

One more thing came out of yesterday’s ass-whipping and last week: “kirby is keeping the hammer down!” If they can score he is letting them do it. That’s a massive improvement. Now we can get the style points that the CFP claims they don’t look at, but they do. So far, Kirby’s checking all the boxes this year.

I only worry that if Clemson doesn’t get any better, people will start wondering why we didn’t beat them by a lot more.

But it’s cool. The schedule is tougher than originally thought. Win out and we’ll be in a good spot regardless of point spreads.

Been waiting on this for some time. Glad to see the time has arrived. Lots of those guys that got a lot of game experience yesterday are going to most likely be needed at some point this year. If not this year, then we are ahead of the game for next year.

we may have taken the starch out of the fighting ‘taters (pardon the pun) – you are right, they don’t appear to be very good

I honestly believe we killed their QB’s fighting spirit. He’s now shell shocked with PTDS (Played the Dawgs Syndrome). Maybe he’ll get his mojo back (if he ever really had it to begin with) in a game or two.

Yesterday’s score could have been pretty much what ever Kirby wanted. It was nice to see the offensive depth get meaningful playing time AND continue to run the offense and not just hand off to kill clock. With the defense, I was had tell that the starters were not in. I’ve said for some time, that this defense has 2 if not 3 first teams. MINIMAL drop off on that side of the ball when they substitute.

Never in my 61 years have I seen. UGA team more focused week in and week out as this one. Kudos to Kirby and company. Get them ready cause our season starts this Saturday.

I would have liked to be in the room when the admiral blower had his hand on the button when Vandy missed that FG. That was there only shot.
