If I were CBS, I would put Ark/Ole Miss at 8 and put Bama/TAMU and UGA/AUB on the 6-day window. I’m pretty confident we’ll get the noon slot–especially if Ole Miss wins.

There is at least a decent chance both ole miss and arkansas lose this weekend, so not sure why you would do that.
If auburn beats LSU and all the above happens that ole miss arkansas game loses a lot of hype comparatively.

Exactly. Once we beat Arkansas this week, the buzz around Ark/OleMiss will fade. The deep south’s oldest rivalry will be the marquee game

That’s true. I just think that Auburn and TAMU are paper tigers at best. Ole Miss vs Ark will probably be more entertaining than the other two options.

imagine if we weren’t the number 2 team in america and dominating defensively. They’d probably have us playing games Tuesday evening, or at 10;30pm on Fridays. Doesnt matter. All we have to do is keep kicking ass.

I give up, I was trying to post a picture from Saturday…a buddy of mine was at the Auburn/GA State game…during the 4th quarter to rally the crowd, their Jumbotron flashed an image of Aaron Murray getting sacked…with the caption “Get Loud”…that’s why I still hate those fuckers

They are a horrible fan base. I never despised them like I do now until the Cam Newton year. The way they more or less would admit without admitting it that they knew Auburn was guilty as sin but didn’t care and then had shirts made that said, Admit Nothing, Deny Everything, Make Counter Accusations, turned my stomach. And then the way the Auburn fans that I know acted about Newton himself. One guy told me, “You might not like it but Cam is the feel good story of college football this year.” They acted like they couldn’t believe everyone didn’t just love their darling Cameron. After that they surpassed Florida as the fan base I despise most. I don’t care for Auburn.

If Auburn loses to LSU, guessing that it will not be a full stadium and not a very excited stadium, especially with a 11AM start.

Clearly, there are a lot of moving parts to where we are getting slotted on the 9th. How close the Georgia/Arkansas game is, how close the Bama/Ole Miss game is, and the result of Auburn game. What is best for getting the 3:30 slot? I honestly don’t know. Auburn winning in Baton Rouge for the first time since 1999 coupled with Georgia and Bama blowouts?

We beat Arkansas, and Bama beats Ole Missus, and we’ll be on at 3:30. Of course that’s two ifs, but they are both doable.

The flip side is that if Auburn gets beat, especially badly, in Baton Rouge then the Ole Miss and Arkansas game has some intrigue since Arkansas still has to play Bama.

Dawgs control their destiny here. Win and get the 3:30 CBS slot. Even if Ole Miss beats Bama, CBS is going to want to show the #1 team in the nation playing a major rivalry game.

This has to be deliberate by ESPN. They’re trying to take the wind out of Fox’s sails after Fox has made such a big deal about their noon game each week.

Maryland at Ohio State really gets the public’s juices flowing, I’m sure.
I think most folks are going to leave it on ESPN this Saturday instead of flipping over to… Michigan at Wisconsin (man, that coulda been a good game if Wisky had a QB)

Remember the 2006? We came in unranked; Auburn was #5. Tra Battle picked off Brandon Cox about 20 times and we rolled before they could wake up, 37 – 15. That was an 11 AM CST kickoff and Auburn literally sleepwalked all afternoon. That is a brutal kickoff time for the home team. Auburn’s crowd is virtually dead these days anyway. If this happens, we’ll roll ’em by 40 points.

We’re going to be the national focus with the Gameday broadcast this Saturday. That’s free publicity for CBS if they have sense enough to jump on the hype train. Never fear. We’ll take care of business with arky and snag that 3:30 slot.
Does a national audience really care about an arky-miss game? No. It’s the equivalent of CBS handing the 3:30 slot to Mickey and saying they aren’t using it that week.

it is brutal when you have to wait all saturday and then wake up in the early morning hours on Sunday to watch the dogs kick some ass and be very quiet in the house.

I’m all for playing every road game at noon Eastern, especially in when we’re playing in the Central time zone. We want the opponents and their fans to be half asleep.

Don’t look now, but the following week is a CBS noon/3:30 DH and it’s homecoming. There’s a very good chance the Kentucky game is at noon.

The quality of the losses makes a difference. Not saying this is going to happen at all, but Ole Miss/Arkansas might be more attractive to CBS if they played good, close games against the #1 and #2 teams in the nation and lost than UGA/AU would if AU got curb-stomped by LSU. If UGA and Bama win convincingly it’s us at 3:30 no matter what happens in AU/LSU.

I’m telling y’all, get used to it. ESPN wants to put the their first choice after CBS on the flagship network at noon. It’s definitely a ratings thing.

Agreed…at least until ESPN takes over the entire contract. Then they’ll have the option to put the SEC in that 8 PM ABC game. That may end up happening more often than not, because the 3:30 window is split up regionally.
At that point, the pecking order will be:
8 PM on ABC if it’s the biggest game in the country that day
12 PM on ESPN
3:30 on ABC/ESPN
7/7:45 on ESPN (probably not a SEC slot if we get the ABC game)

Other than the inconvenience that it imposes, I don’t worry too much about the nooners with this bunch. They are focused and driven. I suspect that they could have a 6 AM kickoff and they would be ready. The defense is like a shark circling. Once they smell blood in the water they go into a frenzy no matter the time.
