Envy and jealousy, Slap Shot edition

David Hale still has the touch.  Here’s what he had to say about his number five choice on his Heisman favorites list:

5. Georgia defensive tackles Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt and Jalen Carter

Auburn ran for 46 yards on Saturday. It marks the fifth time in six games that Georgia’s defense held the opposition to less than 100 yards on the ground. Sure, it’s unfair for us to add three players to the No. 5 spot, but how do you pick just one? It’s like naming your favorite Hanson brother; they’re all essential parts of one magical group.

The narrative this week will probably focus on how the wheels are coming off defensively after UGA allowed a TD

I love that he says “the best team in the country are being led by Stetson Bennett and Ladd McConkey seriously I’m not making that up”.

I’m confused because I was told that Kirby can’t develop talent and relies entirely on 5 stars that get hand delivered to him from Atlanta private schools

    He still can’t run,
    He still can’t pass.

Got a screen grab of the bloody Hansons right by a photo of mother Teresa on my desk at work. “I’m trying to listen to the fucking song!”

That would be three star recruit Jordan Davis. Tell me again about how Kirby can’t develop players?

If they keep this up, they might make it into the top ten Defensive Lines in PFF.

  10. Jalen Carter is one of those guys from central Florida (Apopka) that SOS and Corch would have that would make us miserable for 3-4 years before heading to the NFL. The fact Kirby and Tray Scott took him out of prime Handbag recruiting ground should make their fan base’s heads explode at Dopey/Goofy.

I don’t care what anybody says, Trevor Lawrence had an angelic voice when he was younger

2009 was a much more innocent time

Devonte Wyatt’s emergence this year is what’s put that defensive line over the top. You expected Davis to be dominant and Carter to continue to rise, but I don’t think anyone foresaw the leap that Wyatt’s made.

I’m sure the whole defense is pissed as hell that they gave up ANY points, let alone the TD. You love that attitude they have. They don’t want to just win the game, they want to dominate and destroy the opponent. Enjoy, because we may not see this level of talent on the field for some time. They remind me of the dominate defenses (and teams) that Miami put on the field back in the days of Warren Sapp. Brutally efficient offense and suffocating defense but without the self aggrandizing attitude.

Let’s not forget devonte was a 3 star left out of major recruiting conversations like Davis. Jalen was ranked highly and his film showed every bit of why. If memory serves he took handoffs and played tight end also.
