When in doubt…

Your team got blown up on both lines of scrimmage, you finished the game with a 97.97 passer rating, but if only the refs had been fair:

Nix lobbied with a referee after the play, and proceeded to sound off further in his postgame interview.

“The guy completely grabs him,” Nix said of the sequence in the end zone. “I thought it should’ve definitely been a pass interference. It’s just stuff like that that we don’t ever get that changes the game.

“Obviously, if that would’ve been them, they probably would’ve called it. But that’s just part of the game and part of the rivalry.”

When asked to elaborate, Nix said it was par for the course that Auburn would be denied a pass-interference call in a big game, and that maybe his teammates in the secondary should have played more aggressive on the ball, if penalties weren’t going to be called often.

“I always feel like there are some questionable calls in big moments,” Nix said. “Obviously, there were a few today that I thought could have gone differently. I thought the one to (Capers) there at the end of the half, that was just kind of one of those judgment calls that was tough. It’s hard to make a play on the ball when they’re that aggressive.

“So I guess the officials were letting us play today. We should’ve been more aggressive on our end, I guess, and seen how they would’ve responded to that.”

Makes sense, Bo.  After all, your team was responding so well to everything else in that game.

They wanted targeting called on our QB? Wtf.
Somehow now the refs are FOR the Dawgs? When did this occur.
Holding. Holding. Intentional grounding… not called.

When you need targeting called on the other team’s QB to win a game, you’ve hit rock bottom

When Barners, who along with Bammers are almost always the beneficiary of bad calls that go their way thanks to the Birmingham-based SEC refs and replay crews, are complaining about calls… you know you really fucking kicked their ass and embarrassed them.

    Nice.

Really? Auburn players saying THEY never get a favorable call? This guy lacks self-awareness more than anyone I’ve ever seen.

If Aubie and Bo really want to blame those responsible just say we lost to a much better team.

Pat Dye took their rabbits foot luck with him.

Please don’t let realignment take this game away. Still feels strange playing before FU.

  12. The officials didn’t bothering reviewing that James Cook catch inside the 5. Could’ve swung the game for the good guys. Refs must have been in Auburn’s pocket on that play. (On a serious note…why didn’t they review that?)

Just off the top of my head I can think of the following

2013 Penn wagers special Auburn vs UGA
Unsportsmanlike conduct flag against richt for arguing that no an Auburn player can not recover a fumble with his ass
Helmet to helmet spear from Dee Ford to Aaron Murray at the end of the game

Replay ruling of a catch against Georgia state so egregious, Auburn fans in the stand are seen as visibly surprised

One last one that people forget because the Dawgs won, go replay the first blackout game against Auburn. Penn wagers is literally trying to make every damn call for the tigers to the point on one very obvious roughing the kicker against Ely kelso wagers runs over to our punter and warns him against flopping.

Fuck Auburn, fuck sec officiating. Auburn is truly a cult and complaining about sec officiating when you’ve long been a beneficiary of it’s crookedness and incompetence is one of millions of data points about the delusion of said fan base.

Great points. It wasn’t Ely-Kelso in 2007 though. Also, you left out one of the greatest moments of that game. Marcus Howard absolutely trucker Wagers’ narcissistic, interfering ass on an interception return when Wagers was dumb enough to get in his way. It was glorious.

Assume Harsin gonna Mullen-style use stats to defend his ass beating since he called a damn timeout and a run blitz when Kirby was giving him mercy. What a fuckwad.

I loved that Kirby took a shot on fourth down after that TO. Absolutely an FU from Kirby. It would have been even more glorious if we had hit it.

Oh, how I wish the receiver had just looked up! The ball was right there. I said at the time if that fucker Harsin is going to call time out with 43 seconds left then Kirby should throw to the end zone. And Stetson delivered a dime. Would have been a glorious cherry on top.

Bo sounds like a whiny little bitch. That’s why I never complain about the refs (except the phantom offside). If you look at the game day comment board of any team they are saying the opponent is holding on every play and our OL never holds. The opponent’s DB’s are practically tackling our receivers before the ball get there and our DB’s never touch their receivers. Everyone complains about the ump and I guess it’s part of the fun of being a fan, but I don’t to be in the same category as Bo Nix.

Wait. They wanted the targeting call on Bennett? That’s some crazy shit right there.

Oh, and reading Bo’s whining just confirms what I already thought about him.

I could write a page on how unimpressed I am with Bo Nix. He is selfish, arrogant and takes no responsibility for his own actions. 34-10 and it’s the refs fault? OK…

But I am curious… The catch that wasn’t a catch against Georgia State? Didn’t hear Bo complaining about that one. What about the two calls that cost Arkansas and Ole Miss in losses to Auburn last year? Does he have a problem with that?

I usually give 20 year olds a pass. But considering that this kid still doesn’t know how to pass a ball with touch or will stay in the pocket to let a play develop or look at a player and point to himself and stay “my bad”, in his third year as a starter – well, that makes it easy… This kid is a selfish player. He wouldn’t last 10 minutes at Georgia and it wouldn’t take Kirby to toss him off – the players would.

He should move to back/WR – and learn to be the back coming out of the backfield for a short pass and work on route running and catching the ball. He has no future as a QB in the league, but does have ‘at least’ back-up NFL talent in another position.

Auburn has benefited from so many egregious laydowns from refs over the years – I practically spit my coffee out on my shirt when I read his comments. You have got to be kidding me. The rabbit foot cult lives on in the Plains.
I love watching Auburn fans make up excuses why they lose. And it is never sweeter than when they do.

That’s not a guy pointing out bad calls, that’s a quarterback giving a “woe is me, the refs always hates us” answer. That victim mentality is the last thing you want in someone who’s the nominal leader of your team. They’ll never win consistently with him at quarterback.
