Today, in evergreen moments

If the Dawgs are doing well, postseason wallet time must be just around the corner.

It’s the NOTE that really makes it special.  Same as it ever was.

Dammit we’re gonna flirt with fate like this the day before the game?

I think UGA gets about 17,000 tickets to distribute. Do the math. Top tier all will buy their six and nobody else gets a shot. $$$$ for the win!

I know folks who fell for the “make a contribution now to apply the points to make you eligible for 2017 SEC CG and post-season tickets ” scam in 2017. They learned their lesson.
If you do not already have a high enough score to actually get tickets then contributing now to put you over the threshold to order will leave you with less immediate cash to spend on StubHub for tickets to the game.

At least in 2017, you could still take a substantial tax deduction for donations. It’s basically impossible to make a logical case for “buying” tickets via donations with current tax law. Your money goes way further on StubHub.

I bet if you peeled the onion back on all these schools “partnerships” with Stubhub, that is a feature not a bug. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Stubhub is less of a fan-to-fan marketplace than an off-ramp for schools to tweek supply and demand.

There’s no doubt. StubHub fees are enormous and part of it is definitely going to universities. It’s great for the universities, who used to be cut out of the secondary market. Now they can sell out the stadium at face value and then collect a market value adjusted commission on resold tickets.

  7. Wandered over to Stubhub the other day. Tickets for Indy (what a shitty location…is Detroit next?) running $1800 – $3000. Guess who’s getting a new TV for Christmas!

While I fervently hope the Dawgs are playing there, I have zero interest in any game like that at some place like Indy, Mercedes Benz Stadium, Jerry World or any of those other NFL palaces. I was lucky enough to go to the Rose Bowl and it was everything I’d hoped it would be from a CFB standpoint.

I’d like to go to the Orange Bowl this year. Only one of the (original) Big Four I’ve never been to. Glad I got to see the original Cotton and Rose Bowls. I’m not old enough to have seen the original Sugar Bowl.

I went to the old orange bowl a few times. Place was crazy but near the end it was creaking like the old Gator bowl did before they redid it.
Still glad I got to experience it before they tore it down.

Also note the fine print Cumulative TGBC priority points necessary to be eligible to request… Wouldn’t it be helpful to list past year cutoffs? Just saying. 45k seems close on SECG and the number is similar on CFP.

Bluto is right. This was just the first pitch. The Dawgs will keep winning and these nudges will keep rolling in until the deadline. – No wait – we’ve moved the deadline to allow for the increased demand we’re seeing for CPF tix – don’t miss your chance….

Really infuriating that despite having donated a ton over the past 10+ years, we are still like….another 4 years from being eligible to buy nosebleed SEC Championship tickets.

Actually they will keep raising the minimum.
I have had seats since Vince Dooley was coach. Used to get 2 to the SECCG but that ended about 6 or so years ago. Now the goalpost keeps moving further and further out. If you give the minimum to keep your seats I wouldnt count on ever getting SECCG tickets.
