LSU Chizik’s Coach O:

It’s an attractive job, so I’m sure we’ll see all sorts of names circulate for the next few months.  And Orgeron recruits well enough he can find employment somewhere else if he wants.

Also, Kirby needs to call Coach O and have him come be an analyst next season. Don’t let him to the Saban School. Come to the Kirby School, instead!

When Lanning leaves for a job, and I’d put it at even money he leaves after this season, how awesome would it be to have BOOM! as our DC and Coach O as the ST Coach?

You think we recruit now? That’s Ludicrous Speed Recruiting! We’ll go to plaid!!!

That’d be nice except for the whole sexual assault coverup stuff that’s still being resolved in Baton Rouge.

May be wishful thinking but if I’m the D coordinator at surging Georgia, i probably engage in tighter scrutiny of head jobs than a head coach trying to move up the ladder. That is if you think the ultimate career goal is (1) head coach at (2) a power program for a (3)long time and (4) hopefully win nattys.

I hope he doesn’t go to LSU.

Bluto any chance you still have the video of Coach O hollering (a rebel yell kinda holler) in the locker room from one of your preseason posts a few years ago? I thought it was funnier than hell (but I am easily amused).

How much longer did Gene Chizik last at Auburn?

I think it’s about both. They’re only 9-8 – and haven’t been improving – since they won the CFBPO. To put it Dawg terms, if Orgeron was more Richt-like in his general demeanor and behavior, he might be able to stay on despite the recent stretch of mediocrity. But, he sure doesn’t seem to be as thoughtful or sympathetic as 2009-10 CMR.

If your his employer it’s better to get this out before the team does something crazy and start beating the good teams coming up.

He’s a character and if he keeps coaching I hopes it’s in the SEC just not at Georgia. I didn’t say he had character.

So, first chip to fall and it’s not even silly season. Does UF look at the landscape and think they need to call Sexton and see who’s available? I don’t see how they don’t. IMO, it’s 50-50 that Mullen is gone if they think they can land a savior.

When is a big time football school going to give Coach Stoops from UK a shot?

Maybe he would do a better job of adapting his blue collar style to a big time program than Mullen, but I’d need to see some proof before I hired him to run a premier program. The Mullen/Stoops model is perfect for Kentucky and Miss St, but not so good for the premier programs.

I think this is right. He’d be a fool to leave Kentucky.

If you loaded UK up with 4-5 stars on D and O they would become damn hard to beat.

If the premier program you’re thinking about is UF, you’re right. Not because Stoops is too blue collar but because the Bull Gators would ruin his health too. Spurrier had enough, Urban nearly keeled over, McEllwain lost his mind and Mullen can’t take much more. Seems I remember that Mullen moved somewhere closer to Orlando to avoid hogtown because his wife knew what was in store. Brutal program for head coaches.

            Steve was all good until…
He didn’t win a championship in a year he was picked to.
He saw Miami on the schedule after a long layoff (Canes were good back then. Real good).
Washington was damn glad to get him and he wasn’t going to have work any harder, plus no recruiting.

Gel me more about McElwain losing his mind. I vaguely remember some sort of odd ball behavior but for some reason that seems like a long time ago and I do t remember it beyond knowing something happened. I don’t care about the stupid shark picture for anybody else reading this. I remember something else happening too.

I haven’t been able to take Coach O seriously since he went all Rambo while an assistant at TN and tore his shirt off while pumping up his troops. He’s got his natty, and good on him. LSU, stay away from Dan Lanning.

Ahem…..writing was on the wall after 2019 “GREATEST TEAM OF ALL-TIME”. Talent depleted. No QB. Then the bullshit started leaking; Ed was a whore. Divorced his wife. Rapes swept under the rug. Recruits girlfriends sexually assaulted. If Art Briles was sent to purgatory, this bitch deserves similar!!! Fuck him. And fuck LSU.

All right. This going to sound far fetched, but hear me out…

I’ve always felt that Dabo is similar to Corch Meyers. Full of shit coach that only his own fans believe he has an ounce of integrity.

So, what if Dabo looks around the Clemson practice field and decides it’s time to move on to greener pastures? LSU would be perfect for him.

Clemson? How about Corch gives up on Jacksonville and rebuilds theor program. It won’t take Urban long to get talent, and his ego will love the ACC competition.

Far fetched. I know. But I could totally see these two slimy coaches pulling it.

Ed hitting on the wife of a higher up LSU official (at a gas station,no less) did not help his cause.

I don’t think Orgeron looked the other way ala Joe Pa. I think there are some endemic issues at LSU in the athletic department. Ed O is being bought off.

  17. Coach O, not a class act by any means:

    2019 won the natty
    2020 signed $42m contract
2021 divorced his wife of ~30 years.
2021 dating a 28 year old blond hottie younger than his own daughter (he’s 60)

Divorcing your wife when your career finally peaks (after she followed you around the country, moving every couple years for decades) is bad enough.

But taking $42m and then mailing it in while you chase tail 30-40 years your junior? Weak.

This has to do more with the sexual assault cover up right? I haven’t seen that brought up much if at all.
