“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23

I’ll do it on the cheap: football’s a physical game, players get hurt. That’ll be 40k please.

$40K? That’ll be $4,000,000 please!

Saban has already got consultants to improve PT so that there are less “Soft Tissue Injuries”. I know MCL isn’t a soft tissue injury but something is causing all those ligaments and muscles to get pulled. Turns out most foot injuries are caused by the shoe they wear. Light weight shoes with no leather = less support.

I don’t know what the answer is but UGA has injury issues seemingly every year. Yes injury bugs happen but… I have family that went to another SEC school and we follow them closely. UGA has more injury issues. UGA has a team that is very capable of winning out if injuries don’t derail it. Smart needs to figure it out, shoes, IPF turf, S&C, or just the way he practices. You need guys healthy enough to play to win.
Yes I am a fan of Edwards. I hate to see any kid get injured but from a roster stand point, it could be worse. I hope Milton has a full and complete recovery.

Reminds me about how John Wooden would teach all his players how to properly wear their socks and tie their shoes. Different sport, I know, but….. details matter.

Actually it makes a hell of a lot of sense to instruct folks on how to properly wear shoes/boots and socks to prepare them for the task at hand. Most foot injuries are incurred from plain ignorance.

I was a construction worker for 10+ years. I learned quickly it was worth every penny to drop $200 on a pair of Redwings fitted by a professional, rather than by some cheap steal toe at Walmart (especially since I have an A-width foot). Some of the best advice I ever got.

I have been pleased with what D. Edwards has done. Next man up! Or, maybe let 99 tote the rock to give him some Heisman hype. Jk, I think.

Darnell. Put him in motion and toss sweep it to the MAN!

Or Bowers, with 0 leading the way, then vice versa. 👍🏻

And here I was sighing in relief at the bye week just in time for our guys to get rested and healed up at mid-season. Of course, injuries can happen in practice as readily as on the field and this year’s pre-season has been a reminder of that. Is it my imagination or does this year’s Dawg outfit have an unusually high number of hours lost to injury for a Top 5 or #1 contender?

The 2017 Alabama had a string of injuries among starters and went on to win the championship (as you well know). Something like 30+ starts missed among various players. The 2019 Alabama team had a whole bunch of costly injuries as well (both starting middle linebackers, a 5 star running back recruit, and a bunch of others). Difference in the 2017 and 2019 Bama teams was that the back ups for the 2017 team were more experienced than in 2019.

Ok, now I’m starting to agree with someone who posted “what the hell is wrong with our IPF turf?”. They better get that shit worked out.

We are only one injury away before I really start to worry about the offense. (#19, #84 or either RB #3/#4). We are down so much talent at WR, and some of the ones we have back, aren’t fully healthy.

Believe it or not my biggest fear is a season-ending injury to none of the #s you mentioned, but rather to JT or Stetson. As long as one or the other can play I like our chances against the field.

I believe it, I’m worried about our QB health also

Still have 3 scholarship RBs and KMac should be coming back soon too I thought. Edwards runs like a bowling ball. Small and hard to bring down.
We are fine.

Fully understand the theory of position rotation, some times when you see #3 & #4 get to their feet after being tackled, their response seems like “o.k., that was fun, lets dance some more”, so more carries for those two doesn’t really scare you, UGA “OC” will have the “O” ready no matter who is suited up, which might signal #18 starting against FU to relieve some RB pressure…would like to see Dr. Courson’s portion of the UGA football budget (knowing he covers all UGA student athletes)…

Ill happily trade McIntosh for a health Pickens.

I think we all would. But I’m not getting my hopes up for Pickens until the SEC championship game at the earliest. I’d take a healthy Jackson, Burton, A. Smith, or Blaylock right now.

K-Mac should be back by next week, according to UGASports. That helps.

Something is rotten in the state of Athens.
Seriously, I don’t know if it’s our S&C program or our turf in the IPF, but something needs to be fucking done.
Yes, football is physical game, but this is an alarming number of ligament injuries during practice.

See above. Equipment guy needs to get his head out of his duffel bag and get the right shoes and braces.

Rumor is Dean is also banged up but planning to play. The vast majority of these injuries are on the offense. I wonder if it comes from playing that defense. I’d be surprised if it was S&C because Scott Sinclair has always struck me as very good at his job.

I don’t get it. Nakobe looked anything but banged up against Kentucky.

This is just the kind of thing that will cause the offensive line to play with great disdain towards the salamanders , and will have Zamir looking for someone to bowl over.

OR… it could be fucking Nike. Remember Zion’s shoe? Nike’s shoes run narrow, and they’re generally shit; poorly-designed and poorly-made.
It’s time for Georgia Athletics to reexamine their relationship with this honestly godawful company and take a look at Adidas.
Too bad Asics and New Balance aren’t in the market of big time college athletics apparel deals, because their shoes are so much better.

And it looks like McIntosh probably won’t go against UF as well. This team is definitely the polar opposite of the 2017 team on the injury front. Other than the secondary, I do think this team is deeper and more talented overall, though.

We have players lost for season, coming off of, or, playing thru injuries, a backup qb, freshmen WRs, underclassmen & transfers. All that and still #1 in nation. Dayum.

Edwards is gonna show everybody something. I predict he’s our feature back next year. Passes the eye test for sure, and looks to have the traits of a few of our all-time greats.
