Sometimes, you can smell fear right through a header.
Dude, your team is on a three-game losing streak, with a very good chance to run the table over its last three games. That would mean GT would end up losing more games in 2021 than it did in 2020. But the problem is people stubbornly refusing to see your good work?
Allow Clay Davis to retort.
Any day Tech loses is a great day for America!

My best friend in the world is as big of a Tek fan as I am a Dawg fan. He crowed quite a bit during the Fish Fry years about how smart Johnson was and then later began referring to Kirby as “Kirby Dumb”. This year myself and my other Dawg buddies haven’t heard much crowing from him. Reckon why?😂

Oh yeah, Fuck Tek and the mule they rode in on, as the great Erk Russell said.

A Fech fan who refers to Kirby as Kirby Dumb is pretty damn stupid. All you have to do is watch those last 2 games where Kirby absolutely stymied the triple option and sent Fish Fry to pasture.

EE, he just said that to get under my skin. He knows different and that Tek has a tough row to hoe against Kirby. Another favorite of his is calling us Thugs every time someone gets into trouble, but hasn’t said a word about Anderson. I tell him that there’s plenty of good players in our great state, we can’t sign them all, and we’ll leave them a few scraps. He ain’t got shit to crow about other than calling us names. It must be a miserable existence being a Tek fan. FTMF’ERS

He’s not wrong. From the article:
“There are clear markers that the Jackets have improved. Notably, the average margin in their six defeats is 9.7 points. It was 24.9 last year. In 2019, it was 22.4. In five of the six losses this season, Tech led in the fourth quarter or had a possession to tie or take the lead.
The team’s average net yardage – the average number of yards that the Jackets either outgain their opponent or are outgained – has dropped from negative-136.6 in 2019 to negative-69.4 last year to negative-34.3 this year.”
Everyone knew that was the reclamation project from hell. Transitioning into playing “normal” football with a Division II roster was never going to be easy. Frankly I thought we’d have some 1-11 and 2-10 type results. Anything north of getting pantsed every week the past three seasons is actually kind of impressive.
One thing major thing jagoff has going for him?
The acc is terrible.

The issue isn’t moral victories. The issue is whether yech is playing better football than they were 4 years ago. It appears that they are tho the w-l record doesn’t reflect that.
Shame yech didn’t hire Leach. If he’d achieved these “heights” over the past 3 seasons some around here would be nominating him for Coach of the Century.

Admittedly, I haven’t watched much of Tech this year. Probably no more than two complete games worth of time in pieces of several games. As you pointed out above, one thing that Tech has going for it is that the ACC blows this year. The flip side of that, however, is that one thing damning about Tech this season is that the ACC blows this year. Hidden within that margin of loss number is a 6 point loss to Clemson which in normal years is 30+ points and a 1 point loss to Northern Illinois.

I loathe the Jackets – loathe them….
Two years ago his first recruiting class was pretty good – 27th in the country and 5th in the ACC (Not counting the 2019 class – he got the job in December of 2018 – that class ranked 50th and 9th in the ACC. Last year he took a major step backwards – 48th and 11th in the conference.
Was convinced that if he did not finish with at least 6-6 record that he was likely toast. But so far, with only 3 wins, Tech has the 24th ranked class (5th in the ACC). Will be interesting to see if he can hold this class, with Boston College (snapped a 4 game losing streak last week) at home, then at Notre Dame (really over-rated, but better than Tech) and then at home against Georgia, left on the schedule. They have to win out to be 6-6 and bowl eligible right? I think he has better odds of winning the lottery.
Add to it, they he is really struggling building talent at OL and DL. His bet gets were out of the portal in 2020 (4 Star OT from UT and a 3 Star OT from Vandy). I do not watch these guys, but have to believe that they are really thin here – based on how they have recruited since he has gotten there. Highest ranked linemen he was set to sign since he got there was this year (high 3 star) and Georgia came in and took him over the summer.
We’ll see, but going into year four of a seven year deal, me thinks Geoffrey had better show marked improvement on the field – if not, he’s got no story for recruits.
The truth… Georgia State is better coached and plays a better brand of football than Tech. Better fix it soon or he’s toast.

One other thought. Tech has had 5 home games this year. They have averaged 35,600 fans per game, with the largest crowd being at MB stadium. Grant Field Capacity is 55,000. They have one big win at home (North Carolina – which at the time looked huge – but boy has that narrative changed as the season has gone on. Their other win at home? KSU.)
And they do not draw. Virginia was at 1/2 capacity, Miami was at 1/2 capacity, Duke drew 11,000!
ACC is stuck in a lousy TV contract with ESPN for another 10+ years and Tech cannot draw.
The only saving grace is that their student body ratio is 60/40 men to woman, which saves them a LOT of title 9 money in sports that do not draw revenue. (I’m all for woman’s sports – few turn a profit – just the facts).
It’s pretty dire on the Plains right now..

Serious question. I’m an old school fan and hate Tech, but they have become an AAC or Sunbelt team for the most part. Given this and what would happen with the SEC schedule going forward. Expanding to a 9 or even 10 conference game schedule. Is it time for us to rethink playing them every year?

Maybe rotate them every 3 years with KSU and GSU to upgrade our SOS?

Nah,
I can remember their smugness in the 1960’s, even after Coach Dooley made Boobie Dudd quit. They had a long run of victories in the 1950’s.
I have a looooooong memory. Paybacks are hell!!!
We don’t have to deal with cut blocks anymore so keep playing; they are our new “sisters of mercy” game before our championship runs.

Not until we’ve put the Drought behind us. After we win our 10th straight, I’d be open to letting them ask to quit playing us.

In the press conference after our 10th in a row against them, Kirby can announce we are dropping them from future schedules in order to play better competition and then announce we are adding Georgia State.

Agree with Russ. Until the Drought is on the ash heap of college football history, we play them every damn year.

My biggest concern about the Fech series is that they are going to cancel the series as an annual game before we break the Drought record. We could literally be on a Handbag/Mildcat type of run against the nerds if Fech’s trajectory doesn’t change.
