‘Cause I guarantee you, as obscene as Mel Tucker’s deal is, this ain’t it.
Fully guaranteed and lucrative bonuses? Hoo, wee, it’s gonna be a fun Thanksgiving in the Tucker house today. Dude has a career record of 16-14, his team just got pantsed by Ohio State and his reward is to be making almost 50% more than Kirby Smart.
Oh, wait… I may have just figured out the answer to my header question.
I like Tucker, but Sexton just pantsed Michigan State. There is nothing about Mel’s record that makes you think, “Yeah, he’s worth $9,500,000 per year guaranteed.”
Something, something about a fool and his money.

In this case, LOTS of fools. Rich, desperate, and stupid is no way to go through life, but a whole bunch of MSU boosters are doing it, anyway.

$20,000,000 a year within the next 10 years is my best guess.

So is Kirby $120MM over 10 years fully guaranteed? Or at this point does he just start asking for points on all Athletic Dept Revenue?

I think that masterpiece is gonna paint itself. Boy, talk about a freight train of momentum.

Jimmy Sexton uses ADs like rented mules. I’m not sure it’s good for the long term health of the game, but it’s good for him and the coaches he represents.

Serious question, is Sexton a billionaire yet? I mean the man’s got to be close right?

Kirby is about to get paid, son!

Don’t know when he’s going to paint his masterpiece, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we aren’t the ones supplying the canvas.

Sexton dabbles in oil and charcoal. ADs use watercolors…

I think Kirby is waiting to see what the Braves pay Freddie Freeman before settling on an opening offer.

I’ve got a couple grand left in the safe. Will that cover one Smart immediate family dinner next year?

This is an atrocious contract, and with the best possibly recruits you can bring to MSU there is no way any coach would ever be worth that much.
Nick Saban couldn’t go back there and be worth $9.5m.
