    If we win enough, I’m 100% confident we can get the announcers to call it ‘Historic Mark Richt Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium’ eventually. They were so, so close to doing it this year already.

    Keeping this game on our schedule is brilliant.

    1) Easy win against a P5 opponent with enough historical relevance that people still consider it a decent win.

    2) Fully establish dominance over our state for recruiting.

    3) Rub it in the nose of some of the more clueless and obnoxious fans out there.

    Back in the Fish Fry days, there was an argument to be made that having to practice for a wonky scheme and dealing with injury threat from the chop blocking made the game not worth it. It was still worth it, but that was a good argument.

    Now that they are back to a vanilla style team, it is nothing but positives.

      Real bonus: right now, and probably for the foreseeable future, an opportunity to get a head start on the SEC championship game opponent.

      You know the coaches found ways to work that into the mix.

    Don’t have a really germane place to post this on any of the other posts on GTP, so this is as good as any:

    In another year that brought us more fantastic Georgia hype videos, this is my absolute favorite. Only the 2013 hype video for LSU that used the theme from Man of Steel is better to me, all time. When I rail about the horribleness of modern music, that obviously does not include the Zac Brown Band.

    Itโ€™s up to us to keep rivalry games rivalries, because TV and the conference offices donโ€™t seem to care unless they happen to have playoff implications.

    We should always play Tech. I’m glad that Kirby has impressed upon this team and the teams prior to this the importance of the rivalry. Tech sucks and it’s great to beat them even when they are this bad. (which is not an anomaly but rather a sign of how this will work moving forward). Go Dawgs!

    Take over an opponentโ€™s stadium in the center of one of recruitingโ€™s hotbeds. Nice warm up scrimmage for the secc too. Whatโ€™s not to like?
