Unhappy today, Georgia fan?

It could be worse.  You could be a Clemson fan today.

Dabo’s gotta replace both coordinators.  His AD is about to bolt for greener pastures in Miami.  He’s got a quarterback problem that makes Smart’s look simple.

All that’s before you get to that hideous purple/orange jersey configuration.  Just sayin’.

Let’s see how many assistants bolt with Venerables. And it will be interesting to see if his recruiting class holds – with the first signing day – just a few days away.

I guess one thing we can all agree on is how terrible that color scheme is, fuck orange teams.

Hate orange. Just an awful color. Except for pumpkins, pumpkins are ok.

And the Baltimore Orioles, but I guess that goes without saying? 🙂

Nah, I hate the O’s too. I attended UGA as an out-of-state student, and the closest MLB team for me wasn’t the Braves but the Washington Senators. My allegiance gradually shifted to the Braves by the early 1980s, but the return of MLB to Washington left me highly conflicted (especially since I hold a degree from a DC school as well as from UGA).

Dabo making key decisions with his AD out the door for another ACC school.

    This will be interesting.

I was really surprised Dabo didn’t bolt for another job before all of these defections.

Just shows how fast a situation can change. You better have backups for your backups and be a flexible and capable manager. Satan (er, Sabin) excels at this. I think Kirby Smart does too. Dabo has held his crew together for awhile, he is probably more resilient than we think.

Note: The above comment is not implying in any way that Clemson doesn’t suck.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Clemson and Dabo respond. Many opined that Venables was cut from the same cloth as Bud Foster and would be happy just remaining a DC and losing Venables is a big deal. Saban has been able to make regular DC and OC changes largely blips on the radar. We are about to see if Dabo can do the same.

We have a backup starting at qb. So yeah, Kirby gets it.

After 2001, Georgia choked out the Tennessee program via recruiting. Looks like we may be doing the same thing to Clemson. Hopefully by the time we play them in Atlanta in three years the gap is clear.

Yeah, it must suck being a fan of a team with 2 national championships in the last 5 years with 2 wins over Bama/Saban.

Where do I buy my purple hoodie to make that happen for my team?

  11. Last I checked, Dabo was pulling down more than $8 million a year. I need his crocodile tears over the evil influence of money in CFB about as bad as I need a Tabasco enema.

Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if the new narrative became Dabo, a product of his assts.

Kirby without a generational talent at QB has played for the natty.

Dabo without a generational talent at QB is……this.

Kirby left his generational QB talents to rot on the sideline so that he could start the game manager and the walk-on. Dabo benched his veteran starter (that got clobbered by Bama the previous year) part way through the season so that Sunshine could lead them to a title where they delivered Saban his worst loss since 2007.

Does Dabo honestly really care? He got a 10 year/$10 million contract and he says Cfb now is not in a good place? He could easily publicly express his full support for his coordinators getting promoted & leaving head coaching jobs but no, he bitches. Who would want to come work with that BS.

Dabo’s lack of staff turnover is a sign that people like working with him. Saban’s staff turnover is a sign that it sucks to work there and people only go there for the resume boost before getting out.

  21. It’s somewhat commendable that Dabo has had the success he has without abusing the portal or being a rehab center for coaches. It might bite him, though.

    • I don’t know if I’d call it commendable. Basically all Dabo did was mount up on his usual high horse, acting like he was somehow above using the transfer portal to fill immediate roster needs, and that stubbornness is a big part of the reason why his squad went from perennial national title contender to 9–3 with a busted-ass offense. I guess you could say he stuck to his principles, but I’m not sure those principles are any loftier than believing players surrender all rights once they sign with his program.
