Thanks, kid.

Well, this is something.

The punter gets named 1st-team AA, and all the coaches get bonuses.  How silly is that?

It’s like ADs don’t even bother to read the contracts they sign.

That right there is just funny. And sad. I guess they were ‘doing it for the kids’?

(sigh) Praying that Mr. Hoke has the where with all to either throw the 10 grand at a team function, maybe at the very least donate all of those benjamins to a scholarship fund (maybe even to Mr. Araiza’s continued education), creating a school for way ward punters, or a local charity…

“…couldn’t move the ball out of its own territory.”

SDSU beat Utah and ASU, and finished 11-2. They had a helluva season, despite not having their own stadium. And getting any AA player at SDSU is a big catch. Hoke has overachieved there. Fremau doesn’t know WTF he’s talking about.

So, you guys think that a coach getting a bonus because a player he coach was successful is wrong? Morally? Ethically? Spiritually? How about when the sales manager gets a bonus because of the accomplishment of the salesman? Is it Ok with you if the GM gets a bonus because of the sales managers? How about the CEO? Can he profit off what all those other guys do?

    • Your example involves situations where all are paid. There’s something different about a coach getting paid a bonus for a player’s accomplishments, while the player isn’t.

Even worse are the bonuses some coaches get for their players hitting an APR mark.

So…you think the players aren’t getting paid? You really meant aren’t getting paid “enough.” That might have been true before but with NIL players get whatever the market says they are worth. And I’d bet dollars to doughnuts the salesman in my hypothetical above doesn’t think he gets paid enough too.
