  1. I agree with you, Senator. Coach 30 in the film room would be must see TV.

  3. The entire world is going to see why Jimbo can’t keep anyone on his staff: a complete know it all who won’t let anyone else get a word in edgewise.

Anyone else have to cancel all the extraneous recordings on their DVR for all the broadcasts? I had about 8 or 9 extra recordings for the playoff games since we record both Bama and UGA during the year. Our DVR isn’t smart enough to record just the main games.

I have enjoyed the different recordings…I watched the all 22 the other night for a while..interesting…still have the home town radio to take a peek at.

But yeah, pretty easy to delete if so desired.

I stopped recording stuff a few years back. It just seemed to have become obsessive and a bit too much like an addiction. I found if something is worth watching again it generally is on again. For instance the Georgia games are on ESPNU this morning. Arkansas is starting now. Damn sure can find a UGA-Bama game on; I simply don’t care to watch those and am grateful I don’t have to delete ’em.

I wouldn’t had minded it as much if I didn’t field a call from the wife asking me why I was recording 10 different games all with the same 4 teams playing. The DVR wouldn’t let her record a Hallmark Christmas show. Lol.

You had a good argument that all Hallmark movies are the same movie, just like the games.

Hahaha! Dog bless ’em. Hallmark Christmas movies.
RR-“Go on about your business, baby. I’ll tell you how it ends.”
TBG-“Will you reeeally? I have to be going nooooow!”
RR-“Sure. They all live happily ever after. Scoot.”
          TBG-“grumblemumblegrumbleByeSweetie!”

The All-22 is a must for a proper postmortem.

The AT&T 5G Sky Cast, otherwise known as the All 22 view, is my preferred viewing method. If given the opportunity, I would pay for this view each and every week.

  6. I watched a replay of the Michigan game with Scott Howard’s audio. Horrible. I am convinced no one listens to him unless they are in the stands, or stuck at a funeral because you absolutely will not know what is going on. He gets worse each year. The only value in the broadcast is injury updates from DJ. On the opposite end, I listened to Eli Gold’s broadcast replay from Bama-Cinci the other morning in SiriusXM. You can close your eyes and see the action exactly as it happens. We deserve better than Howard. Rant over.

    • Yes, he tries to hard to be our homer and gets a lot of the pbp wrong without providing “color” of the setting, but I’ll take him and Zeier over Herbstreit and Fowler who talk wayyyyy too much for so little insight.

    • But…but…I like Scott.

      I enjoy Howard’s take myself.

      • I challenge you to listen to him without the benefit of a visual and see if you know WTF is going on half of the time. A good radio play by play announcer tells you the ball location, down and distance, the formation, calls the snap, and delivers instant, precise play-by-play on the action. Howard does none of that consistently. You won’t know where the ball is half of the time. You don’t know what happened with the ball until the play is over and he or Zier finally fills you in. Up until that moment you only get a general description….i.e. pass or run to somebody. If you are just tuning in, good luck on getting the score before a commercial timeout. I am not even going to harp much about how excited he gets except to say that during Larry Munson’s greatest call he stayed cool as a cucumber and everyone knew what was happening. Howard would have blown everyone’s ears off. He sucks ass.

Howard is fine when you can see what’s happening on the TV or in the stadium… It’s like having a drunk college buddy yelling “Stetson to throw…. TOUCHDOOOOWWWWNNNN!!!” right in your ear. If radio is your only means of access to the game, however, you have no idea what the hell just happened other than it was a run/throw and the end result of the play.

Soooo, what you are telling me, is that Lawrence Harry Munson carried Scott Howard to some degree for many years and that Mr. Howard should have retired and or moved on to another broadcasting location instead of following a LEGEND, still deciding which is better/worse at hoops broadcasting howard or dantzler…GO DAWGS!

    • Eric Zeier is really good. The banking business must be good because I’m surprised he hasn’t been snapped up by someone in the broadcasting world.

Not a single option on network TV, and then they’ll howl about ratings.

  8. Coach 30 or Traphouse Sports would be great. Hell, I’d rather listen to comedian/diehard Bama fan Jermaine “FunnyMaine” Johnson call the game than be subjected to Jimbo’s smug ass for three and a half hours. At least Jermaine’s got jokes.

Jimbo or no, I do love the options. I will experiment with one on the porch with the main show on in the living room. The rest of the fam has the vid – the odds of me having it monday are high and it might go perfect with Jimbo.

Jimbo and the A&M staff. Should be a hoot if Coley is analyzing the offenses.

  12. Sucks they bailed on the home team broadcast to streaming ($$$). That SEC channel looks like it will switch to whomever is on offense. No way am I listening to that smug Eli Gold. Allll laaaaa baaaam ahhhhh! Ugh. Don’t want to watch Saban on the sideline either unless we are blowing them out, but even then that’s what DVR is for. I will synch the Georgia app radio broadcast with the main feed.

ESPN really trying to bring in viewers from markets outside the Southeast & TX with that move…smh

So we can watch and listen to “local radio”? Unfortunately I’m 100% positive that’s not what I have in mind…I’m going to try to sync the radio & TV for this one. Where’s Munson when you need him?!

Ps. Coach 30 is pretty damn funny…the comedy gold imo

So, how are they going to have both home team radio broadcasts on SEC Network? I listened to a good bit of Scott Howard for the Orange Bowl and it was much better than Herbie yammering on, plus I could actually see what Scott was screaming about (he’s terrible on the radio alone).

Sounds self explanatory, but I’ve never heard of the “high” skycam ? Anybody have details, insight or experience with that ? Is this a completely second camera roaming over the field ?

I asked this on an earlier post this week but, got no response… I was at a buddy’s house for the Orange Bowl, watching on YouTubeTV. The UGA hometown radio channel had the audio out of sync, the video was 1-2 seconds ahead of the audio. Just enough to make it too annoying to watch. Did anyone watching on cable or satellite notice it being out of sync or was it an issue with streaming on YouTubeTV? Thanks.
