Never want to hear a discouraging word about Stetson Bennet…the QB who brought UGA to a national championship…and a great coaching job by the staff…and a great defensive effort by our Dawg defense…and a great leg by Podlewsky (sp)…just a great night by all..including you fans who made your way to Indianapolis. I watched from the comfort of my living room with wife, grandson, and daughter in law and received congrats for Dawgs from Utah, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia. The whole world is happy….except I live in Alabama now and mighty Saban has struck out!!

I was wrong, in more ways than one. Better to admit it, apologize, and enjoy this win like it could never come again. I’m going to hold tight to 2021 forever, because it surprised me. The Braves and the Dawgs delivered hope from despair, and about 12 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of this, I was feeling despair and too much of brown liquid demon known as Woodford Reserve, but in Stetson’s tears we can all hope again.
If you can’t find joy in the end result even if the journey was fully of pain and suffering, then I dunno.

I’m glad I stayed sober tonight. Looked up from my phone and there was Uncle Got loaning Arch Martyr a pen to fill out a Brandee’s employment application she received from FrozenDawg. That’s what comes from y’all interviewing the girls while looking through the square bottom of a Johnnie Walker bottle.
Anyhow, Arch Martyr didn’t make the cut at Brandee’s of course, what with the hygiene and minimum number of teeth requirement and all. However, being as she’s a newly converted Dawg fan, I will be independently pimping her out at the Butt Hutt BBQ dumpster for all you golfer’s convenience on the weekends and logging truckers during the week. I just took a look a few minutes ago after seeing this post. There are some angry sumbitches over there, some that probably qualify to be on a suicide watch, and some that are open about their realization that the hiring of Paul Johnson was the catalyst to Tech being where Tech now is and that the hiring of Kirby and the amount of money being poured into the Georgia football program (and the inability of Tech to do the same) means that the gap between the two is now so wide that it might be decades before Tech has any shot of closing it.

Okay, let me summarize why this was so great to me. First, the refs absolutely fucked us on three horrible calls on one play. Then they fucked our defense by missing obvious offensive PI and then ignoring Bama spiking the ball. But THEN…Stetson throws 2 TDs late to bring us back! (He can’t bring us back!) And then the OMG best Heisman winning QB in OMG history threw his second INT of the game, a PICK SIX to seal it!

So happy for every Dawg, especially all the players who have given us so much to root for and be proud of across the years. This national championship was earned by a special team of Dawgs, but it was won for every Dawg, and for every team that came before it. The men that made up the last 40 teams can all smile a little wider now everytime they see a Georgia G or hear a “Go Dawgs!”

I am still speechless. When the refs called Stetson’s pass a fumble, I was sure that the refs had taken charge of the game and we were headed for disappointment. But, Stetson picked himself up and took control right back before Kelee Ringo sealed the deal. I sat in the nosebleeds in New Orleans on January 1, 1981, and I sat in the nosebleeds tonight. No more good tickets for me. Go Dawgs!

Y’all , I am 43. The Herschel years and anything before that might as well have been my grandpa talking about when gas cost a nickel a gallon and nobody knew the price of rubbers.
I’m so glad for us to win one when everybody has a color television and it was not the result of one awesome player. The fact that we did it by beating the greatest coach and dynasty in college sports is just red and black icing on the cake.

I cried like a little girl on my wife’s shoulder for about five minutes. then I smoked a cigar that has been in my humidor for six years just for this occasion. Oh yeah, and some bourbon. These Dawgs are the best. I was there for the 1980 Dawgs, but this was more of a team effort.Very cathartic, The best is yet to come. GO DAWGS!!!!

Just finished watching the 4th quarter again. Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean that really got out of hand fast. It jumped up a notch. Not as fast as the final 2:35 of the first half of the Florida game but the results were the same. Two offensive TD’s and a pick six.

It happened in my lifetime.
Last time I was 8 years old, watching it on TV with my dad at home in Atlanta. I had no idea what it meant.
Tonight as an alum (UGA Law 1998), I was watching with my doggo in my lap who tragically will take the Rainbow Bridge later today (kidney failure). I cannot help but feel my wonderful dawg’s dying wish was for her papa to see his other Dawgs win a national championship.
Thank you so much players, parents and families of players, fans, supporters, Coach Kirby Smart, and every coach, trainer, and member of the program now and before who helped get us here over the years.
Not quite 70-0, but it sure feels like it today.

What an amazing win! Was pretty much speechless at midnight. I’ve watched replays of the big plays (and there were SO MANY) over and over. But especially love cueing up the SBIV fumble back to back with the Mitchell TD, Ringo INT, and then SBIV crying at the end.
SBIV, man. I know you all saw his face on the sideline when they ruled it a fumble. I believe what he said in the post-game on-field interview when he said he just told himself, “I am NOT gonna be the reason we lose this.”
I was seriously afraid he might be, honestly, after the first half. But I was pulling for him! Just wanted him to settle down and be patient and wait for his downfield shots that would come. And, man, he sure didn’t disappoint down the stretch.
Those refs were awful. Glad we didn’t lose in a close one. The awful officiating site would have made an L that much worse.
Not those Dawgs hunkered down and never let up!!!
And, one more thing. Our secondary didn’t get called for a single PI, right? Do I have that right? So proud of all those guys. After getting embarrassed in the SECCG they played with serious discipline and composure.
Can’t wait to get me some National Champions gear!!!

I’m at a loss for words. So many ups and downs over the years. I was born in 1981, so I’ve literally waited my whole life for this! I rarely comment, but I’ve been reading this blog for a decade. I’ve read the Senator’s posts for consolation after so many losses. I’ve hurt with all the commenters after disappointment after disappointment. And now I’m so thrilled to share this with all my fellow Dawgs! It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog!!!!

I’m happy for everyone on the team and most of the people in the fanbase. That final 8 minutes was the most fun I’ve had watching a Georgia game in years. Watching guys like Bennett and Ringo go from potential goats to heroes was just beautiful.

This was a small detail with Ringo from last night. When he got beat by the Bama TE trying to undercut the route he didn’t quit and hang his head when making a mistake. Instead, he ran his ass off to catch his man and make a TD saving tackle. We held them to a field goal there. That could have been a huge swing in the game, but instead Ringo minimized his mistake.

When you’re wrong, you’re wrong. I honestly didn’t think Smart could beat Saban but he proved me wrong. Georgia won the championship on the field and you can’t take that away from them, congrats to them. We will be back next year.

Had a lousy weekend, felt awful. Confirmed yesterday afternoon, tested positive for the Corona. Wife and son have followed suit. Wasn’t able to enjoy cold beers and watch the game on the dock as planned.
But, UGA is by-God National Champs and I couldn’t be happier!
