At Georgia Tech, you get to do that!
In 2023, the ACC will adopt a 3-5-5 football scheduling model and all 14 schools will compete in one division.
Teams will play 3 primary opponents annually + face the other 10 teams twice during the 4-year cycle, once at home and once on the road.

âAnd Georgia fans, donât be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. Itâs awesome. If you donât win this year, itâs still not a failure. Itâs a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasnât been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like itâs gluttonous. I feel like itâs not OK. But weâll be in the mix.â-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
That’s certainly bad news if you suck as bad as Georgia Tech does, and it’s bad news for anyone in the short term. It’s going to be very interesting, though, to see if Clemson can maintain their performance from the past ten years or so over the next five given the changes in the game and Dabo’s seeming unwillingness to adapt.

Clemson’s 2023 commitment class currently ranks fifth, so I’d probably wait a little before shoveling dirt on Dabo’s grave.

More like Dabo is ecstatic he gets to play the NATS ever season.

FSU got SCREWED, though. Man. They have to play the ascendent Miami and Clemson every season.

Maybe it will toughen them up to play the Gators.

Hell if they still have season ticket holders, Iâm sure theyâre excited. Get some real football coming through town.

The athletic department has to be excited that they’ve got a second game every other year that they’ll be able to sell out.

They have always had that. They play Clemson at home on their away years at Georgia.

Yes, I’m aware, I imagine they’re thrilled that will continue to be the case as it was not certain before this announcement.

Yup Coach 404 has one foot in the grave and one on a banana peel. He’s so gone after this year.

Better than the 1-7 the SEC is talking about, IMHO.

I mean, let’s be honestâwhen you’re the worst program in the league, any perma-opponents you get stuck with are going to be a challenge.

Am I missing something here??? A 13 game regular schedule???????

They worded it weirdly. âThree permanent opponents and the remaining ten teams two times during a four year cycleâ means an eight game conference schedule with three permanent and five others rotating yearly.

For an SEC version of this, I ended up with the following:
Georgia – Auburn / Florida / South Carolina
Tennessee – Alabama / Florida / Kentucky
Florida – Georgia / Tennessee / Kentucky
Missouri – Kentucky / Vanderbilt / ?
South Carolina – Georgia / Auburn / Mississippi State
Vanderbilt – Mississippi State / Missouri / ?
Kentucky – Florida / Tennessee / Missouri
Alabama – Auburn / Tennessee / Ole Miss
Auburn – Georgia / Alabama / South Carolina
LSU – Arkansas / Texas A&M / Ole Miss
Ole Miss – LSU / Mississippi State / Alabama
Mississippi State – Ole Miss / Vanderbilt / South Carolina
Arkansas – Texas / Oklahoma / LSU
Texas A&M – Texas / Oklahoma / LSU
Oklahoma – Texas / Texas A&M / Arkansas
Texas – Oklahoma / Texas A&M / Arkansas
The obvious problem with the numbers difference is that I don’t have a 3rd for Missouri or Vanderbilt. But I think this accomplishes at least as much as the ACC’s does in terms of creating exciting matchups yearly. Feedback?

SEC needs to move to a 9 game conference schedule and then do 3 permanent opponents and then 6 & 6 on the rotational opponents. I think yours didn’t work our because you have too much SWC inbreeding going on with TAMU, UT, OU, & Ark. đ

Whelp Coach slingblade can’t play Clemson every year if he’s fired from the flats this season so theres that. But that said, he should go ahead start packing now.

The ACC can keep Clemson GT going as well as both Duke UNC, and UVa UNC but the SEC is looking at 1 rivalry game.
Meanwhile in Hoover…
