Anonymous shit talking, an SEC tradition unlike any other

Jimmy Hyams talks to some SEC coaches about what they think of SEC East head coaches.  Here’s something one of them said about Kirby:

At Georgia, the NIL was alive and well at least for the last four years, make no mistake about it.

No specifics were forthcoming.  Naturally.

And here’s an observation about Florida:

“I don’t think Dan Mullen did a good job recruiting talent at Florida,’’ said an SEC coach. “He was a great offensive coach there, but ultimately he couldn’t control those kids.

“The same question goes for Billy Napier: can he manage those kids? Billy will recruit kids that fit his culture and personality and stay away from the guys that don’t. But the best kids in Florida often have an edge to them, and you’ve got to be able to handle them.

“Nick Saban is smart and can handle edgy kids. I don’t know if Billy (a former Saban assistant) is wired that way.’’

I guess edge is the new thug.  Some things never change.  They just get repackaged.

So all the criminals weren’t really Corch’s fault? It was just those edgy Florida kids?
Oh, how I misjudged poor misunderstood Corch.

    • That one sounds like Eli Drinkwitz burying the knife again in Dopey/Goofy.

I mean, obviously it was the players fault in Jacksonville either, everyone down there just becomes “Florida Man” the minute they cross the St. Mary’s!

Maybe the one kid from Bristol Connecticut was a choir boy until he joined Corch and mixed with those edgy Florida kids.

You’re on the right path there, chuckie,
but he was edgy until he got with those ditchlizard kids, and then, miracle upon miracle, for 4 years, they were all CHOIRBOYZ in jorttown…
he leaves those ditchlizard CHOIRBOYZ and heads up north and, bingo, he’s back to edgy!!

So the question I have is, we’re those lizturds really chameleons and change colors on their own for 4 years or did they never really change colors but instead were camouflaged by the jorttown enabler committee?

It may have been Oliver Wendell Holmes who said that envy and jealousy are the basis of most laws; they’re certainly the basis of a lot of anonymous digs.

Reading that quote is about as joyous about college football as I’ve been since waking up on January 11, bwahahahahahaha!

I don’t give a steaming pile of Bulldog shit if that’s true or who said it.
Dawgs won the National Championship and likely made his team look like said pile in the process.
    Fuck those motherfuckers.

Man, if you’re gonna play in Florida, you’re gonna have to play with Florida Man:

Kirby must absolutely fuck everyone up recruiting. One day he will get the same respect as Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly but he may have to win 2-3 more Natty’s.

Neither has ever beaten Saban or Smart, yet somehow Smart is constantly dinged for not beating Saban, and even when he does, it’s downplayed.

It is wild. Beamer is somehow on the cusp of being a great coach at South Carolina but Kirby just buys the best players, throws the ball out there and doesn’t mess with the QBs enough to win with “THE NEVER TO BE DUPLICATED BEST DEFENSE IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL.” Can’t wait til we put 45 on that Grantham like defense in Tuscaloosa this December.

If anyone thinks NIL was alive in Athens for only the past 4 years, they are fooling themselves. Of course, if anyone thinks that it was alive only in Athens, I have some wonderful oceanfront property in Hahira to sell to them.

So, is ir OK for us to scoff at Florida players as selfish and undisciplined, or nah? And is Kirby pointing that out, and that we ARE disciplined, bad now? I can’t keep up.

Anyone who thinks NIL hasn’t been alive and well forever must not remember the old Southwest Conference. It’s just out in the open now.

Would Aaron Hernandez be considered “edgy”?

  11. Am I the only one disappointed by the anonymous comments? They’re all so bland these days, honestly.

I still buy Athlon because they have the comments but you can tell that the coaches today are more savvy and have a lot more media training.

Best anonymous quote for me: “When you’ve got the No. 1 overall pick of the draft and he doesn’t make All-SEC, you know you’ve got talent. And many talented players return.”
To me that says we are reloading, and it also says that the people who make All-SEC picks are lazy dumb asses.
