That is a man very comfortable in his knowledge and players on his roster. To maintain his standards of performance for Georgia football.

No more if not now when crap,

This man is on top of every aspect of his team. We could not ask for a better coach.

Kirby’s confidence and comfort are high for good reason.

If I live to be 100 years old I will never forget 8/1/1966. My first day at UGA. A wide eyed lost 17 year old just following the crowd. Coach D. talked to us for about 2 in. and Coach Ayers told us we would be a family and he looked forward to knowing our parents.
brothers and sisters. Then Coach Dick Woods said. “that shit from Ayers sounded real good, but I am here to you the truth. Your ass is here for one reason and that is to win games for Georgia and if you don’t do it we sure as hell will replace you with people that will”
At that moment I realized I was no longer in high school, this was a business, and I and the other freshmen were machinery for that business. I loved every minute being used, The benefits were outstanding (there was no money passed around and nothing but legal benefits, that I might one day try to explain), but trust me, as an old fart I have great memories and some great stories that I can tell. Many, many memories that I can’t tell, but I will never have an experience like that and I have never had an experience like that again. Very grateful for the time spent as a UGA player.
