Brenton Cox IS Your Daily Gator.

This has got to absolutely thrill Billy Napier.

Former Georgia Bulldog outside linebacker Brenton Cox, now on the opposite side of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party rivalry matchup against Florida, had something to say for his old team on Twitter over the weekend. Cox, who spent one year at Georgia before transferring out of Athens prior to the 2019 season, quote tweeted the official Georgia Football account’s video of the Bulldogs in practice, telling his former teammates they “better get ready for me.” That sparked a feud between Cox and fans on social media Saturday night.

Yeah, that’s a good look.

Georgia fans immediately filled the responses of Cox’s tweet, including a video of him being outrun by Bulldog quarterback Stetson Bennett in last year’s 34-7 Georgia win. The Bulldogs would go on to win the National Championship while Florida finished with a losing record including a 2-6 mark in the SEC.

Cox took note of that and made it known that he had better stats than anybody on Georgia’s defense last season. Cox led the Gators with 14.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks, more than the 10.5 tackle for loss (Nakobe Dean) and 6.5 sack (Robert Beal) marks that led Georgia in 2021.

“I had foot surgery 1 month before the season and still had more sacks and TFL’s than they WHOLE defense… not to be cocky, stating the stats and the facts. u Digg”

Twelve guys from Cox’ 2018 class are in the pros now, eight of whom were lower rated recruits.  Figure that’s eating at him a little bit?

Cox replying to his team failures with his statement about having better individual stats than anyone on Georgia is exactly why he’s still in Gainesville and his classmates are making coin in the NFL.

Cox is a member of Me First & the Gimme Gimmes. Glad he transferred.

“Goood widdence to bad wubbish”, once this guy saw his name on the 5 A.M. work out sheet, then heard CKS on the megaphone, dude figured he had to change his name, address and grow some facial stuff (NIL), brent cox jr., handbag with stats, should he duplicate those numbers again, it only means a 6-6 record at FU and another NC at UGA football…#FTMF

I, for one, will miss Brenton Cox. He’s not only the ambassador UF needs, but the one they deserve.

I do look forward to seeing him get cut from the USFL.

    Oof.
    1. Leave a historically great defense littered with NFL talent
    2. Transfer to rival team with middling defense, instantly become a top player
    3. Brag about your individual stats to fans of old team that just won a NC.

Remember kids, when trying to own someone on the internet, make sure you don’t own yourself in the process.

Why doesn’t it surprise me that Cox was quoting his individual statistics?

I thought his problem was he can’t set an edge. But he’s stupid, too.

I imagine Kirby already has his speech spun up.

      (*pushes play on tape recorder…)

Agent Cox, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to place yourself above your team, not pursue former walk-on QBs as they blow past you, and to self-immolate via ill-advised tweets.

Your hopes for a lucrative NFL career will self-destruct on October 29th.

Im acquaintances with a former Georgia player so take this for what it’s worth. According to him the reason Brenton only lasted was due to his shitty work ethic which was only surpassed by his being a shitty teammate and overall douche. As you can imagine Kirby and his staff weren’t particularly thrilled with guys who won’t put in the work leading to the eventual separation. This was in direct contrast to say Lorenzo carter, roquan, Chubb and Sony who were not only super hard working but just overall good dudes.

It also warmed the cockles of my heart that this person also said from the couple guys who stayed in touch with Brenton when he went to Florida that cox liked Florida under grantham and Mullen A LOT more because 1) they were nowhere near as demanding so practice was waaay easier and 2) the lack of talent on the roster meant Brenton could coast and still start. All good things if you’re a Georgia fan

That kid sang there on draft night and watched that defense get drafted player after player after player. Telling himself that he was better than all of them and how he would show everybody this year how great he was.

And you touched on it. He doesn’t want to work. Not only in practice, but in the game. My son was an assistant coach at a rival HS his Senior Year. There strategy – run right at him. Quick hitters to the outside of where his rush lane would be (he was too lazy to turn back and pursue). Oh and to hit him in the mouth.

Only time he was affected is when they stood in the pocket or rolled away from him. Not much has changed.

If the kid grew up, shut hit mouth and went to work, he would be a top 10 pick. Just do not see that happening.

Not sure Cox could get a spot on our roster as a backup.

Being an ass on Twitter always helps your draft stock.

He better start looking for ways to stay at fu in ‘23.

He was part of the 2017 class. Played in 18, Sat out 19. Played in 20,21 and now 22. I just hope the kid gets his degree and applies himself. He doesn’t have the work ethic for the pros.

Florida fans continue to believe Brenton Cox left because he just wanted to play for Florida more and that he was a loss for our program. They think we were fighting to keep him.

Let’s not spoil it for them, they’ll figure it out.

Oh, I think they figured that out a couple of years ago. The one’s who know football and watch more than the QB and skill receivers saw that rather quickly.
