    Mathis was placed in a terrible position in 2020 having to jump in to start in a pinch, but I swear it may have gone differently except for the questionable hit on him by Bumper Poole on a scramble. He just lost any confidence after that.

      WV should be a hell of a lot of fun to watch this year. They’re running a very Mike Leach style air raid, and Daniels can throw it a mile.

        Their first game is against Pitt I think. Pitt’s qb is also a transfer from USC. He is the guy who got the starting job after JT got hurt in the first game of his second year— leading to his transfer to UGA. Should be an interesting game.

    Seems every CFB program is now a minor stepping stone for QBs. I think there was a recent stat showing 40% of all starting QBs now, came in as transfers from other schools.

      I noticed Pitt and USC traded their star WR for the starting QB.

      It is pretty crazy. The last three starting QBs for Southern Cal (JT Daniels, Kedon Slovis, and Jaxson Dart) are going to be playing on a different team in 2022. I saw a stat that like 18 or 19% of QBs that finished 2021 as a starter in FBS are going to be playing on different team in 2022 than they were playing on in 2021. And that doesn’t include Spencer Rattler or former blue-chip Quinn Ewers.

    Should we include John Rhys Plumlee? An almost until he decommitted, but now he’ll be starting for the guy with the “lucky rabbit’s foot.”
