Ummm…
“There is parity in college football”? Whatever these two are smoking, it must be some powerful stuff.
Ummm…
My man @TimBrando makes a lot of sense here. We should not be surprised when Appalachian State beats Texas A&M. There is parity in college football. We just don't see it in the post-season because so few get a chance. That's why we need a 12-team playoff as soon as possible. https://t.co/scs2SaaIis

“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23

There’s parity from #2-132. They all suck equally.

WHAT A CROCK OF BS!!
This is the same guy that said Scott Frost would win a natty at Nebraska. Ga State beating Nebraska was NO surprise. Everyone beats Nebraska. A few bad teams lose to a few Sun Belt teams and they come out of the woodwork

You would have a lunch mob after you where I live. It’s Southern…not State.

I guess parity is why so many CFP semifinals are highly competitive games.
Since rule 1 of being a shameless shill is “never admit to the con,” I guess Tim is doing solid work here. Keep flogging the “equity” narrative, Tim. Once they start playing the games, it probably won’t go how you suggest, but no one will remember this brilliant take.

Agree with Statesborodawg above. He was fucking making a video representing himself and his employer. He needed to dress to look as if he was working and representing his network, and the wifebeater made him look like some clown living in mom’s basement.
As 81 pointed out, the semifinals involving the supposed best 4 teams have not been competitive but if in 2021 the CFP substituted App State for Michigan it would have made a better game? That is something that an idiot in a pink wife beater living in mom’s basement would record after too many natty lights.

I was trying to think of some witty retort to Brando’s take (and Barnhart’s endorsement of it). The whole thing is too damn ridiculous to warrant the effort. When the SBC TV deal is equal to the BIG 10 and SEC TV deals then come back and talk to me. I suspect that there is just a wee gap in the talent level rankings between TAMU and Appalachian State. The only thing that the game highlighted was how bad a job Jimbo does with his talent and how good of a job the Appalachian State coaching staff does with theirs. When the top of the SBC can go toe to toe with the top of the SEC, BIG 10, BIG 12 or even the ACC ON A REGULAR BASIS will we have parity (I purposefully left out the PAC 10).

Why the assumption TAMU is a top 12:team?

I love how he cites Cincinnati and Houston as the best Group of 5 teams before quietly mentioning that each have already lost a game.
Most of us realize that there are some quality Group of 5 programs, but these dopes have to ask for it all and make themselves look naive in the process.

There’s parity in journalism apparently, guys like Tim soon too, will be knocked off their horses with thus kind of bs banter.

How we perceive the wins by GA Southern, App State and Marshall emphasize the fact that there is NOT parity. We were shocked – surprised – amazed (and admit it, thrilled). If there were parity we wouldn’t be any of those things. There would be exciting games, yes, but not too many “can you believe it” games.

Is App State a good program? Yes.
What will they do when they run into a interested #5 or #6 seed in a playoff game? Get run out of the stadium.

….”That’s why we don’t see it in the postseason”…
Summmmbody needs to tell those two fuq’n dumbasses that there is a reason that a college football season is 12 games long. Kinda weeds out the pretenders from the contenders.

I’ve had the #pleasure of being blocked on Twitter by Brando for criticism (albeit mild) of one his takes years back. Thin skinned to say the least……#FTB

If you look up the word “jackass” in the dictionary they just updated the picture to this screen shot of Brando. What a clown.

For those interested there’s a pretty good article inThe Athletic by Ari Wasserman on this point. He was answering a question from a reader who was pointing to App State and asking why don’t you admit that stars aren’t that big of a deal.

I don’t know why everyone is mocking Tim (aside from his wardrobe). There IS parity in college football. It just exists roughly between teams ranked 10-80. Hell, just look at the Senator’s post from earlier about Georgia being the only elite team left in college football.
