Richard Pryor once famously joked that cocaine was Gawd’s way of telling you you have too much money.
Richard Pryor never saw an athletic director fire a coach with a 67-26 record, just months after giving him a pay raise that will net a $16 million buyout.
What a time to be alive, eh?
Damn. I should have gone into coaching back in the day..

One thing about cheese land lovers, is those gurls are corn fed, but they can drink and love a party…vs UGA football at the “Big Sombrero”….GO DAWGS!

WTF are they thinking at Wisconsin?

Seems as though getting punked by Bert with the reclamation project that is Illinois was just too much insult to bear.
Crazy.

Wisconsin is a horrible job because it has a fan base that is used to the winning of the Packers with the high school talent base of Nebraska. Can they win the Big 10 West? Yes. Do they have a chance to do more when anOSU and Michigan have their collective $#!+ together? No.

On Wisconsin! On to the next coach search.
Can’t wait to see Ilini84’s response…bet he was doing cartwheels.
Bret’s homecoming was a humdinger for WI to fire a winning alumni with a big buyout…it was very stupid.

The craziest thing to me is that all but 4-5 of these millionaire coaches with 8 figure buyouts are not much more than glorified PE teachers!

No, they ALL are glorified PE teachers. Back in the day, colleges at least hired an Army ROTC PMS as head football coach – that’s why Neyland at Tennessee and Van Fleet at FU were head coaches in the 1920s. I’d rather have some random US Army infantry company commander coach than I would 99 percent of the bums who coach college football today.

The assumption is always that they can do better. Reality will sink in soon enough.

Prior to this happening, wouldn’t most college football fans said that Wisconsin was a fairly normal and sane fan base. Expectation properly aligned. Satisfied with 10 wins and a NY6 bowl. Know that they dont have the talent to compete with OSU every year, but..They have been very steady.
but this move would suggest that they are also crazy as rest that of college football.

Yeah, Wisconsin just exposed where they are on the Crazy-Hot Matrix and it isn’t appealing.

But also the bucket of booster money is bottomless. These contracts and buyouts happen because boosters want to see this happen. This is the college football that the most wealthy people want.
