I wonder if they thought of that themselves, or if a certain head coach made a suggestion. A forceful suggestion…
Georgia's Nazir Stackhouse said the defensive linemen won't be doing pregame walks around the field anymore in order to avoid a repeat of the situation at Missouri.

Part of me thinks it was a coach.
Another part WANTS it to be player led.

This also makes me believe that Missouri initiated that little skirmish

I did read that there was a players only meeting on Sunday to address that issue. Hopefully it was ironed out there. And there is no doubt in my mind that Missouri initiated it. Still though, we’ve got to be more disciplined than to take that bait.

If our players weren’t there, Mizzou wouldn’t have been able to initiate anything.

Hopefully they decided that before being told.

After five games in, does 78 have a sack? Has he sniffed a sack? Asking for a friend……

Seeing them jawing with Missouri. MISSOURI! Just doesn’t feel like a team focused on what it needs to be doing. We’ve gone from “point at the scoreboard and laugh” to being like that? Yeah, I hope somebody talked to them.

Jared, I have been thinking that very same thing since Saturday.

That little visit into Indian Country was the manifestation of an attitude.
It’s easy to ban the visits (and similar crap) but has the mindset and lack of good judgement that led up to the incident addressed?
(It wasn’t the whole team…just a good handful. And I wonder if they were baited, as has been suggested).
By any means, don’t do that shit anymore, Dawggies.

Why the fuck are our guys even talking to mizzou players before the game? If the other team is talking shit just laugh and take advantage of the fact you play football so you get to legally assault said shit talker once the whistle blows. Wasting your breath on a guy your coach never even recruited is auburn level retarded

The first question is wtf were our guys doing walking around/through the Mizzou players in the first place.

The problem I have with it is when you don’t back it up. Otherwise, what’s the problem?

If you’re gonna do it you better play the game if your life. Otherwise you’re an embarrassment aka Brenton Cox.

Exactly. Or stfu. Most coaches are going to discourage this stuff because most guys can’t back it up. However, if I was a coach who had a guy who talked, backed it up, and kept his cool when the other guy loses his head, I would have no problem.

As good at Georgia’s roster is I’m not sure we have a Bird caliber player.

If we have one, its Bowers.

Bowers is a top 10-15 all time football player who should be walking around talking shit during pregame warm ups? The former might be true, but we won’t know for a while. The latter I’d disagree with. Nothing to gain.

As I suggested. I don’t care about talking shit. Many sports legends have talked their share of shit and part of their rep is the talking of the shit. Not a recommendation to anyone that anyone should talk shit at all.
My point is that should you choose the path of talking shit, back it up. I won’t criticize you for talking IF you back it up.
If your point is that no one should talk shit except those who already have done it and succeeded, well we just disagree.

Another on brand ridiculous misrepresentation of somebody else’s point of view. Also known as a Derek special.
Pregame shit talk is for dumbasses and children. Talk all you want during the game. I don’t think Bird was over on the Lakers bench before tip off getting in Magic’s physical space, but even if he was there aren’t any Larry Bird’s on Georgia’s football roster.

Just don’t do it. Want to make an impression on an opponent knock his dick into his watch pocket.
We used the old bait trick in the army. Let them expose themselves then rain death down on them – worked well until they realized what we were doing.

I mean, okay on doing a field walk-around. I can see that. Time it better, be professional and kick their ass when the clock is running.

I thought it was a friendly gesture. Just wanted to show them what our championship rings look like.

You’re a competitive Alpha type. Some guy comes up to you pre-game and disses you and laughs at you and maybe even threatens you.
Or, Some guy comes up takes off his helmet and and has a disarming smile. “I’ve watched you on film. You’re pretty good! I’m looking forward to playing against you today. Good luck, Dude and lemme’ have your best shot and you’ll get mine.”
Which guy would you want to murder in the trenches? Which one would leave you scratching your head?
Don’t needlessly motivate your opponent.
Be that second guy.
Or better yet. Stay on your side of the field, keep your mouth shut and think about your responsibilities during the game.
