Musical palate cleanser, reactionary edition

Haven’t done one of these in a while, so here’s a little power pop from Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander.

“Well, baby, have a bitchin’ summer, see ‘ya next fall” is a killer line.

This is great Senator, thanks for finding and posting this. I’ve been a Cheap Trick fan since I bought the Live at Budokan 8 track in high school. I saw them at Chastain with Heart and Joan Jett a couple of years ago. They did a great cover of “The In Crowd” along with Heart. It was excellent.

Wow. Cheap Trick. Takes me way back to the early teenage years. You have inspired to capture a bunch of YouTube videos of classic artists.

This is one of my favorites (you may have posted the same years ago) — for those of you who really dig R.E.M. as I do. Don’t go back to Rockville in a house somewhere in Athens.

    • I may have to turn in my Possum Key for Brandee’s gentlemen’s club…but back in the 90’s I was cruising up and down Prince Ave. blaring some Indigo Girls trying to bag hippie chicks that liked the smell of patchouli

I made it to :32 seconds. Fuck me to tears! That would make a gotdam hippie resort to violence.
You hang on to that Possum Key there, FD. Reliable sources have assured me your testicles have dropped since your dirty bush hunting days on Prince.
        Nasty fuckn hippie.

        • That’s much appreciated, RR. I had to work through my “sweaty wasp nest” phase back then, but for what it’s worth, it was for the greater good…I did what I had to do for Tang…and just like Chuck Yeager, we ain’t talking about no astronaut drank.

…ole Ac-Delco was one tough sumbitch

I hear ya buddy. This nasty scar on my right shoulder is where I had a GI Joe pop off arm installed. That was easier and cheaper than chewing it off every weekend. Before that I developed the excellent habit of always having a cooler of ice on hand. Drink the case of cold Wild Turkey 101 and then ice the arm down for the trip to Athens Regional.
I learned that canned corn worked as well as fresh ears and both better than cologne as an attractant.
          Yeah, Chuck was a badass.

How appropriate Senator … I watched this earlier this week. Power pop has something for everyone and this is the best time of year to listen to it. Outdoors on a perfect fall day enjoying a libation or two with good food, friends and family with the knowledge that college football’s finest team in the land is about to play an old rival in the Greatest College Town in all of the country.

I know its a Brit narrating and its a little long but well worth it.
