On top of the record, Napier is facing the prospect of closing out his first year in Gainesville by becoming the first coach in school history to lose to Tennessee, Georgia and Florida State in the same season.
That’s something we should all be able to get behind.

Sun Belt Billy has had a rough year. Here’s to hoping Norvell’s Noles put a beatdown on the Handbags tonight.
We also have to remember that Kirby lost to Tech, Florida and Tennessee in his first year. Of course, Kirby had no head coaching experience before, so SBB doesn’t have that excuse.

Unlike most of his predecessors, Napier doesn’t strike me as a megalomaniac like Spurrier or Meyer or entitled clown like Mullen. While I’ll leave the disparaging nicknames to others, it’s gratifying to root for continued failure of that program and misery of its bizarre fanbase (principally of panhandle tweakers or NY-NJ alums or students).

Napier is the first UF coach I don’t dislike intensely. I’m having difficulty coming to grips with that. The others were so easy to hate.

I get it. He’s hard to hate and I’ve hated every coach except Pell. He was just a cheat’in macaroon. But with Napier, is it just me but is his hair cut just odd?

I be known Billy for years. My son played for his dad, kids went to school w him & his brothers and we attended the same church. He is in person one of the nicest guys you’d ever want to meet. The whole family is extremely likeable. I hate it for him personally that he is enduring a bad season. But I honestly believe that he coild be the one who actually turns it around down there. Yes it’s a bad season now, but if those boosters leave him alone he is a different type guy than they’ve had down there in quite some time.

I know ‘turd fans are trying to point to Kirby’s 7-5 first year in 2016 as proof that Sunbelt Billy is going to be fine, but Kirby didn’t lose to all of our rivals. He beat a Top-10 Barn. Yes, he then immediately biffed-it against the NATS the next week, but that team was so up and down and led by a true freshman QB on offense who wasn’t ready and was also coordinated by an OC who was generally pretty awful that nothing really surprised me after we lost to Vandy earlier in the year.
While I always questioned the hire of Jim Chaney to run the offense and always will even in retrospect, I never believed Kirby was out of his depth. I never believed he wouldn’t ever get the hang of being a head coach at a big time program, especially because he was and still is a first-time head coach anywhere.
Sunbelt Billy has been a head coach for years, so what’s his (and FU fans’s) excuse for why he’s been so bad in so many situations where clock management and offensive play selection in specific situations in important parts of games this season?

From what I understand the Florida plan is that Napier will out recruit Kirby or at a negligible level and then the team will.out perform us because he will “coach” his guys up to a level way above Kirby. As plans go it is certainly one but it ignores the 6 year head start, Kirby Fucking Smart, and that Florida under Spurrier and Meyer didn’t have a Georgia anywhere like what it is now.
Their next coach will be Riley’s brother or whoever is the most shit hot offensive coach out there in 2024 or so.
