Your (non-Dawg) game day post

Rivalry Week comes to a head today.

What I’ll be watching:

  • Michigan at Ohio State.  Once upon a time, we’d have been arguing about whether the loser of this game deserved to be in the CFP over Tennessee.  Ah, well.
  • South Carolina at Clemson.  Which Spencer Rattler shows up today?
  • Auburn at Alabama.  There’s probably a drinking game involving the number of times Brad and Gary discuss the Auburn coaching search to be had today.
  • LSU at Texas A&M.  This could get ugly.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
  • Notre Dame at USC.  One of those rare times when it feels okay to root for the Irish.
  • Tennessee at Vanderbilt.  I know, it’s not gonna happen.  But I wish it would.

And you?

Root for the Irish? Some things should be left unsaid.

Yeah, no. I’m pulling for USCw to get in. Shut the door on someone backdooring their way in. Want UGA to take care of bidness, then see B1G, Pac12 and Big12 get in. Then, have at it boys!

I think Vandy can get Tennessee. Tennessee’s D backfield is bad.
    Vandy will be inspired.
And who knows. Maybe Heupel has pissed off one of his units this week and they’ll mail it in.

It seems like a mediocre Iowa St. always ruins at least one team’s season. Hmmmm….

Unusually weak rivalry slate this year. The night time schedule is especially dreary.

My choice would be USC in the Peach..Song Girls for the win.

Going into the season, conventional wisdom was UL would be a cakewalk for UK. Cards defense has over performed and Cats offense has been terrible, so hard to call.

I sort of hope USC makes it into the playoffs. It would be good to beat the shit out of a Lincoln Riley team.

Hah, if I recall correctly, you didn’t think they would get 3 wins this season. And UT has a built in excuse since Hendon won’t be able to go. It feels like it is possible.

Notre Dame. I don’t hate ND like a lot of folks, but I think it would be good for USC to get in the CFP (Kirby knows how to deal with Lincoln Riley) or let USC think they are going to get in to the CFP only to lose their conference championship game. Lots of juicy possibilities there, even this late in the season.

But the only games I am watching all the way through are Meatchicken/OSU and LSU/aTm, because we’re likely to play them this year.

    If Santa comes early,

    Michigan wins,

    Vandy wins,

Clemson looks terrible but ekes out the W, then beats UNC (need lil ol Dabo in the CFP),

TCU wins, then wins the big 12 (need ’em in the CFP),

    and

USC looks terrible but ekes out the W, then gets humiliated by Oregon in the Pac 12 title game.

    Dawgs roll, 100 to -2.5.

Clemson and tOSU go down. Glorious. Lord, let the playoff field be the Dawgs, Michigan, TCU, and USC.
