Today, in shade

Say what you will about Nicole Auerbach ($$), you’ve got to appreciate somebody who’s got South Carolina in her top ten this morning… and doesn’t have Tennessee there.

Yeah, but where does she have the always overrated Suckeyes?

No one schills for the B1G and acts like Kevin Warren’s personal fluffer like she does. Seriously, her interview about his “heroic” decision to shut down the season in 2020 still makes me heave.

I saw that article. I wished I had a friend who was a Vol fan so I could send it to him.

Why DDB..what an ugly thing to wish for.
I’m kin to a Vol fan and while you can’t un-kin someone, if he were only a friend, he’d be dismissed.

The most obvious recipient of her shade would be the yowling stray cat with the initials DK, since the ACC is totally absent from her version of the top 10. OTOH she has a real problem with quitting the Bucknuts who are #5 after the consensus top 4. Added another B1G outfit in Penn State at #7 to keep them company. Bama at #6 and South Carolina at #10 – so that makes 2 from the SEC East and 1 from the West. I now believe that the East has taken over as the strongest division, even if the divisional setup may be entering its final years.

Utah at #8 and Kansas State at #9 round out her slate. The Poultry have had a dynamic past 2 weekends but damn they had some ugly outings including the one at Florida just prior. Not to mention what the Dawgs did to them in Columbia – Yeah, yeah, I know, it wasn’t on a neutral field 😂 Just goes to show the daffy unpredictability of the sport which is one of its most magnetic features.

Yes, but she always includes the caveat for her #10 slot: “The final spot each week goes to a team that may not actually be the 10th-best team in the country but still deserves a little shine.”

She’s the poster child for one game overreaction. Short term memory is strong with this one.

She was also the first one to fire up the UT bandwagon, making them number 1- and dropping us to #3- immediately following their win over the Tide, and presaging the initial playoff ranking. That one, as the kids say these days, hasn’t aged well.

This year, everyone’s opinion is just a hope slowly turning in the wind.
I have no more respect for these “experts” opinions (actually, I have less) than I do for the average poster on GTP.
Herbstreit (to pick on an easy case-in-point) is ALWAYS grinding his BIG axe…especially for anOSU.
Here’s my non-expert opinion…we’re going to hear all about Bamas “close losses”. Every time it gets mentioned, I hope someone counters by pointing out their “close wins”…which were complements of SEC officiating privilege.

Astonishing the amount of people who don’t read the actual article every week. #10 is more of an honorable mention.
