Here’s a great look at Saturday’s two-point conversion play.

I can’t tell if LSU is more butthurt over this play or when Carter lifted JD in the air like he’d just won a prize at the fair.

Tis been a good weekend for the Dawgs boys.

I don’t think Brian Kelly complained about the two point conversion in his interviews, though Gary Danielson was certainly stirring the pot. However I’m sure Brian reserves the right to use said two point conversion as a motivational tool for the next 10 years and more if he lasts that long at LSU.

I think it was Kirby’s way of saying “I gave you the chance to lay down and you didn’t…”

Can somebody explain the reasoning for the two point attempt. The TD and a PAT would have made it a 49-23. LSU would need three TD’s, three two point conversions, and a field goal to win. The two point conversion made four touchdowns and four PAT’s necessary to win. I can see making them score another TD, but that’s a pretty small improvement. Maybe Kirby has some Bill Belichick in him after all.
    Am I missing something?

27 points equals – 3 touchdowns + 2 pt conventions are & one field goal to tie. Tenuous reasoning but that would be the math.

Math. The math said he was supposed to go for two. In his interview Kirby said, “the book says you go for two.”
Personally I think he was just keeping Kelly’s arm up behind his back and twisting it little.

I think I see the rationale. It seems a bit tenuous with that big a lead in the 4th quarter, but on the other hand I was alive when John Elway was at Stanford.

I don’t get wasting a trick play on it. Looked douchey to go for two as it was, even more so to use a trick play on it, but YMMV.

A great in game practice for a goal line stand and it got us to fifty.

It’s tough to top Carter holding up their QB as a trophy, the dead ball scoop & score, or the head-bounce interception, but at least Kirby was trying.

Hey, it’s LSU and they deserve anything we can slap on ’em. I’d have liked to go for two on every TD against the corndog smelling yahoos.

Maybe having that 50 up there was to further the bad impression of Bama’s loss to LSU? (yeah, it’s a stretch).
Probably CKS and Monken just wanted to let the team have some fun…and they sure did!

We scored 49 in our previous game at the Benz. I figured we have to score more to show we’re still improving.

I recall the smiles and smirks in ‘19 as they handed us our ass in a biblical beat down. To my thinking they had it coming.

Kirby hung 50 for the fan base and let Monken show off all in one play. Like a master signing his work.

We went for two because we couldn’t go for three.
