What’s the opposite of the GPOOE™?
During a recent episode of “All Things Covered” hosted by Bryant McFadden and Patrick Peterson, former Florida and Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said he believes Bennett is the most underrated player ever to play college football:
“Stetson Bennett is the most underrated player, I think, that has ever played the game,” Meyer said. “I can’t believe how small that guy was. But he’s a monster, his leadership, his toughness, incredible.”
MUPOAT? Not sure it has the same ring to it.
SBIV has one more national title as the starter as the GPOOE. Bennett as a college passer is so much better than Tebow was. Denver was really dumb to use a 1st round pick on him.

Just wait, plenty of people slobbering over AR15. I almost expect the Falcons to draft him.

If Al Davis was alive for this draft, he’d probably sell his children for the opportunity to draft AR. I’ll never forget when he drafted Darius Heyward Bey in the top 10.

I have, over the years, threatened from time to time ending my Falcons fandom for front office/ownership stupidity. Some of that stupidity was from Mr. Blank doing really dumb things like making a few different players the highest paid in their position in the NFL even later in their careers (looking at you, Julio), at least you could argue that Mr. Blank never was tight with his money in his pursuit to win. However, if the Falcons draft AR before the 6th round I will officially call it quits with the organization.

I gave up on the Falcons after they let Gurley get away for Vic Beasley and then trolled Georgia fans by showing him sack Aaron Murray from 2 years before on the highlight reel.
They downright pissed me off taking the guy from Montana State over Nakobe last year.

Gurley pissed me off, but on the other hand drafting a RB in the first round no longer makes good sense. I also was like, “WTF?” when they took Troy Anderson at 58 in the 2nd round and Nakobe was still on the board.

Stupid move also by drafting Justin Shaffer 5 spots ahead of Jamaree Salyer.

Hiring Bobby Petrino as coach was enough for me. I was out as soon as I heard that. I have never regretted it.

I quit them when they hired Glanville and went to the run and shoot.
Jerry was an ass clown and the run and shoot is an abomination to football.
He’s fine if you want to go from 1-15 to a wild card, but you aren’t winning postseason games with that crap.
Haven’t been back. No plans to.

Hell no, I aint forgettin’. It will always be in the mind of 81Dog, and the UGA program what a douche (talented college coach, sure, but a douche) he is.

Totally agree, on both counts.
He could read the defense well, accurate on passes , and shifty.
Hope our new qbs are good

What part of the multiverse am I living in? B2B NCs, things are looking bright for a 3peat, and now Urban Fucking Meyer is saying complimentary things about UGA players?
If Steve Spurrier starts waxing eloquent about what a beast Stetson was the last 2 years, I’m going to faint. Just because they’re both right doesnt mean you’d ever expect them to say it out loud.
What a time to be alive.

Great post, Sanford!
I think you may have jumped the shark with your first sentence.
I’ll remember that quote that the next time I hear someone trying to belittle SB4.

Stetson is bigger than bryce young…crickets on young’s stature.

Agreed, we’ll know soon enough at the NFL combine..I ASSume Bryce will let them measure his height/weight etc…

There’s not as much focus on Young’s stature because his talents jump out pretty clearly. I think Stroud may get taken sooner simply because of his advantage in terms of stature.
The question for Stet at the next level is can he overcome his physical limitations in a game where he won’t get protected at the same level and he won’t have better players on his team than the other every week.
How far does courage and confidence take you in the nfl? I wouldn’t bet my job/money/future on it, but he may well shock the world once again.
I’m waiting on that 40 time. If he cracks 4.5 someone is going to place a bet on that kid. I’m skeptical but I’m rooting for him.
There is never been anything like that guy. He’s a unicorn.
Every other hs qb with his measurables, and they are legion, not only would fucking fold under the pressure, the vast majority of them wouldn’t even show up. For one to actually show up and succeed at that level is surreal.
It just ain’t supposed to happen because its never happened.

I wont disagree that he is seemingly quite small, but I’d say there have been a few successful ones. Doug Flutie for instance.

The problem with that comparison is that Flutie was a three sport all state all star. He also had a scholarship offer to BC.

Bad comparison.
Stet was the best baseball player in the State.
And Flutie never won back to back National Championships as a walk on and then QB1.
