Craig James believes people choose to be gay but shouldn’t choose to dislike him.
“The actions have also led to the breach of Craig James‘ contract and the impugnment of his career,” Liberty Institute general council told Fox Sports in a letter sent Tuesday. “We demand the immediate reinstatement [of] Mr. James to the on-air college football analyst position. If you refuse to reinstate Mr. James, millions of Americans will be left with the impression that you do not respect religious liberty and Liberty Institute will be forced to pursue subsequent legal options.”
Pass the popcorn, please.
Another day, another buffet line to negotiate.
I guess this is proof that Fox Sports and Fox News are run separately:
The Craig James era at Fox Sports Southwest will be a short one.
SI.com has learned that the veteran broadcaster will no longer appear on the network. Fox Sports executives were not happy with the hire by the regional network, according to sources, and the hire had not been fully vetted at the highest levels of Fox Sports management. A formal agreement had not been finalized, even though James appeared on FSS on Saturday night. “Craig James will not be making any further appearances on Fox Sports Southwest’s football coverage this season,” said a Fox Sports spokesperson, when asked for a comment.
Of course, you could argue that makes James’ next career move pretty obvious.
Hope this isn’t the start of bigger and better things.
If they ever hook him up with Thom Brennaman, my head will explode.
I don’t know about you, but it sure gives me a pleasantly warm feeling to see ESPN roll out its broadcast teams announcement and not find Craig James’ name anywhere on it.
Craig James gets caught in a lie about hiring a PR firm to combat Mike Leach and then defends himself by telling another lie about the timing of the hiring.
There’s really no way ESPN could bring James back after all of this, is there?
