“I was so stoned I had no interest in having sex with anyone.”

Man… when I first started reading this post about what the return of Antonio Callaway means to Florida’s chances this season, I was chuckling about how over the top his argument was, but by the end of it, I felt like I needed to take a shower.  Ugh.

Top 1 % of the Top 1%. The tradition continues, who is shocked he has been cleared to play?

I am. The Hearing Officer found that the accuser wasn’t too drunk to give consent, meaning that the Hearing Officer found that sex did happen, just that it was consensual. Thus, Callaway’s testimony that he was too stoned to have sex must have been a lie. So the “impartial” Hearing Officer exonerates a liar in a university court proceeding who admits he was smoking dope at the time and the FU people think that is a basis for clearing the guy to play? Good Lord! Is there no depth to which the Gators will not sink?

  2. What the hell, at least he didn’t shoot anybody like some of Coorch’s boys did, and then played on.

I doubt this will be Callaway’s last run in with trouble. That was a kangaroo court for sure. UF was moving forward and why not? They had the right judge and the complainant wasn’t present. Case closed. Rig the system and then cheer the results. As a man that is about to send 3 daughters to college starting next year, it makes me want to tell them to steer clear of athletes on any campus. I’m sure that’s probably not rational but still….

By this point I shouldn’t be surprised (which is terrible) but every time I read these articles, I still find myself asking, “Really? People really think this is okay?”

What difference does it make NOW? It wasn’t my fault. Too stoned. Defenses for the new morality.

When I was in my early 20s I don’t think the title of this blog post would have ever been used to describe me. Freaking snowflakes!!!

Florida, the Auburn of the SEC east. Or is it Tennessee? If this is the kind of crap that has to be tolerated to get a natty, I’m not interested.

Same here. If we can’t win clean, I don’t want to win. One of the things I really enjoyed about having Richt was my absolute certainty that he would never bring this kind of crap upon our university.

I love how coaches refuse to suspend players for games because “they’ve already been through/suffered so much.” For offenses of this magnitude if you didn’t lose playing time, you didn’t suffer. The cherry on top is when Jim claims it’s all about preparing these guys to be better fathers. What horse!@#$!!!

McElwain: I wish you media guys would stop asking whether or not Antonio sexually assaulted someone. Why doesn’t anyone of you guys ask me how high Antonio is?

    Media: How high is Antonio?

McElwain: Not very high. Less and less high everyday. We’ve asked him to be sober for the opener and we have every reason to expect that he’ll be able to achieve the goals that we’ve set for him, which are quite stringent by the way.

    Media: You mean being sober?

McElwain: Absolutely. For some of these guys they’ve never been sober, but we’re in the business of taking care of these young men for 3 or 4 years and making sure that if and when they kill someone that it happens after their eligibility has expired and/or in Massachusetts or some other foreign country. Go Gata!
