Your Daily Gator is advised to cope.

Pat Dooley lists a dozen reasons for Florida fans to be optimistic about the coming season.  It’s about as lame an exercise as you might expect.

Here’s his number one reason for hope:

Look, we’re not trying to say that Billy Napier is going to do what coaches before him have been able to do. He inherited a mess and still has a lot of mop duty in front of him. But we know that there is a tradition around here that coaches excel in their second seasons.

Steve Spurrier won the SEC, Urban Meyer a national title, Will Muschamp 11 games, Jim McElwain the SEC East. Nobody is expecting a playoff berth, but the second year for a coach is always better than the first.

I guess making it to a bowl game would suffice.  Have fun in Shreveport, Gators!

Top 10 plays of 2022?

What do y’all think of this list?

Me, I don’t know how you leave this one out of UGA’s top ten from last season:

Starks doesn’t make that play, it’s hard to see how Georgia leaves Columbia with a win.

And if I’m picking Bennett runs, my preference would be for this one instead of the one on the highlight reel:

Your thoughts?   Have at it in the comments.
