The downside to last night’s massive win is the opposite of Dawgrading — Kirby’s gonna have to try really hard to find anyone in the national media disrespecting his Georgia team, at least based on this small sample size:
It was, in short, the best team in the country clicking on all cylinders — ostensibly in a win over the No. 9 team in the country, but also in a message to everyone ranked ahead of Ole Miss, that the road to the national title still runs through Georgia.
Move over, Ohio State. There’s a new No. 1.
At least there is here in the latest prediction of what the College Football Playoff selection committee will do when it releases its third of six rankings on Tuesday.
Georgia beat Ole Miss on Saturday in resounding fashion, avoiding any sense of an upset and winning its second straight game against a ranked opponent.
Nicole Auerbach ($$):
The Bulldogs are moving on up to the top spot in my rankings this week on the heels of a dominant 52-17 win over No. 9 Ole Miss. This game started as a top-10 showdown and ended as a stark reminder of the difference between true national championship contenders and everybody else.
Georgia’s sluggish starts and uneven offensive performances seem like a thing of the past at this point, especially now that Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers are healthy at the same time. On the strength of the Bulldogs’ two top-15 wins in as many weeks, it’s very possible that the College Football Playoff selection committee slides Georgia past Ohio State on Tuesday.
Of course, I doubt that’s going to stop Smart from trying.
The good news is that if they move us up to 1 he’ll have a cautionary tale. Hell, we told it.
Kirby will be able to say that no matter their record UT is going to want to get us back for knocking them out last year.
UT got all big headed left home and got whipped. We’ve seen it happen. Don’t let it be you!

I guess this means that we’ve played somebody now.
And, Nicole, we’re not national championship contenders–
we’re two-time defending NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

Off subject. Medical update will be interesting – saw 3 or 4 of our guys go into the First Aid tent. A couple of injuries looked pretty bad.

I don’t think it will be a problem. With Saban and Alabama waiting in the SECC the media will be on Bama’s nuts. They love Alabama and see Georgia as the workin man who made himself rich. New money instead of blue blood. Georgia is going to beat the shit out of Alabama. I don’t mean hang half a hundred on them but I believe we score forty and I’ll be surprised if they get much beyond twenty. Mildew ain’t that guy. He’s equate brand Bryce Young.

Those ass wipes will be back to drinking their fart sniffing, anyone but UGA kool ade once Monday rolls around and they’ve sobered up from seeing UGA football spank the opposition, the need to roll another what if, Blah, Blah, Blah narrative prior to next Saturday….GO DAWGS!!

Amen. At one point in the fourth when it showed Herbstriet and Fowler, Herbie looked like he was going to cry. I will be very surprised if Saturday in Knoxville isn’t billed as yet another, “UPSET SPECIAL!” The Dawgs just go about their business playing clean, disciplined, professional football. Kirby doesn’t wear gold jewelry and act like a middle aged kid like some coaches. And I guess that’s boring to the grown up teenagers that are the sports media.

I’ve taken my fair share of shots at Herbstreit over the years, but I thought his coverage of UGA last night was gracious and appreciative. I didn’t get the sense at any time he was upset by Georgia’s success.

Senator,
I was waiting all night for Herbstreit to say something about Ga. and some cutie remark. It never came, surprised the hell out of me.

Also, Heather Dinich’s positive comment was more surprising that Herbstreit’s no negative comments.
It is a surprising and great time to be a Ga. Bulldawg.
If anyone predicted the ass kicking that beset the Old Miss team, they had to be living in a fanatical world. It was great, but I never expected that score.

Know the opposition my friend, saying nothing against UGA football, only comes off as a hint of positivity, they have alllllll week to bob-n-weave and throw crap at the wall….

Yeah, I’m not a fan of Herbie or Fowler but they were singing our praises last night.

I got a little bit tired of Fowler trying to will ole miss back to life in the 2nd and early 3rd but Kirk-street was OK, better than a lot of them we’ve had this year. I actually listened with the sound on in the second half.

If Agent Herbstriet had any amount of gotdam sense, he would STFU, pay attention, take notes and listen to Mr. “Do you believe in miracles? YES!”…and build him a brand unrelated to tosu or the http://WWW…but, alas, WTF do I know…GO DAWGS!

Not sure if you’ve seen Alabama the last couple of games but Milroe is definitely impressive. Not sure why it took so long for Saban and their OC to play to his strengths (maybe to avoid early-season injury?) but dude is playing lights out and Atlanta will be a tough out.

Yep. Seen them. They play on my TV too. They don’t scare me. Dart was supposedly gonna give us fits. How’d that go? I know, I know, this will be different. Like all the other people that were supposed to beat us this year we’re going to be different.

Alabama will be tough, but let’s take care of Tenn. first and then we will worry about the next game, then Alabama.
GO DAWGS
It is a great time to be a member of the Dawg family.

#6 with Bama and Penn St(!) ahead of us. I don’t know what FPI looks at, but I will die on the hill of stating that computer rankings are more corrupt and flawed than a smokey back room of NYC sportswriters.

Speaking of, why were wer announced as the #2 ranked team at the start of the game yesterday? Is Kirby paying our own PA guy to pour mouth us???
