“We’re not condoning what he did morally.”

There were only about 200 people at the “Team Save Coach Petrino” rally last night, but what the crowd lacked in numbers it made up for in religious fervor…

understanding…

the command of grammar we’ve come to associate with Petrino’s supporters in the Arkansas fan base…

and a certain delusional detachment that’s comedy gold, Jerry.

“… I wouldn’t ask him for marriage counseling, but at the same time we’re supportive of him and we want him to do well.”

For now, I think Petrino’s a lock to keep his job, but, man, at the first sign of adversity (translation: a seven-win season) these people are going to turn on him in a heartbeat.

Wow. These supporters are certainly well connected. They have already consulted Jesus. I thought only Tim Tebow had those kind of connections.

It’s curious. There are no minorities in any of the pictures. So what? It hints that all were recruited or gathered from a specific population. In other words, this is not a impromptu gathering of typical Arkansas fans, (although I have no doubt that if a vote were taken across the whole of the Porcine Nation, Petrino would easily and surely survive). There’s just something about these SEC schools that start with an “A”. Personal character and morals be damned if the man can manage nine or ten wins every year. Hire the devil himself if he can win a national championship.
As for me and my house….we’ll continue to be thankful for CMR.

I sure hope the dude who is holding the “What’s wrong with scoring in the off season?” has a wife and children too.

He is a fine example of why this saying is true: “When you have a son, you worry about one boy. When you have a daughter, you worry about hundreds of boys.” And I do mean boy, not a real man.

From a national perspective it’s horrible. Yeah, wouldn’t want to whittle away the golden image of Arky in the public eye.

I think that with the use of the exclamation point, Mr. Jorts is saying that to define is inappropriate. From an existential standpoint that is pretty profound.

Innappropriate (in.a.pro.pri.ate) Adjective…describing behavior that is not consistent with societal norms. (e.g. riding a motorcycle with a young woman who could be your daughter, whom you’ve hired to be on your staff, while married to another woman your age with whom you’ve raised a family…and crashing then covering-up the circumstances of the accident including soliciting the help of your state-funded policy trooper escort.)

Seriously…they need help with that definition?!

I take this as a good sign. We must have solved literally every single one of society’s problems if the only thing these people have left to get fired up about is coming to the defense of an adulterous football coach who lied to his boss.

So long, poverty, drug abuse, absentee parents, racism and homelessness! Nice knowing you . . . NOT!

This is easily one of the funniest GTP posts and comments threads in a while. And you people are just getting started. Thanks for starting my day off right!

In the background of the jorts spelling bee champ, I see a few young girls. Those parents are undoubtedly real jewels. “That’s right, sugar, if you stay trim and fit and purty, maybe you can ride on the back o’ coach’s motorsickle.”

    Woo pig sooey, indeed.

I do not see anyway in hell he keeps his job. I know Long would like to keep him but Petrino’s hiring Ms. Dorrell surely violates not only university rules but also state ethical laws.

Apparently, you are new to this thing called SEC FOOTBALL.

State ethics hold no one’s attention until the football team loses.

Seriously, though, I don’t see where she wasn’t qualified for the position. So long as it was a publicly funded job and posted properly, there isn’t any reason she wouldn’t have been hired beyond you know, her “friendship,” with the head coach. *snicker*

I am a lifelong Arkansas fan and that is quite possibly the stupidest image I have ever seen in relation to anything related to Arkansas athletics. What an embarrassment.

Yes. I make mistakes. Own up to it anytime I do.

But you do understand the grammatical error undermines the point of calling somebody an idiot, right?

Last I heard, Miss Piggy is headed for the Ozarks. She was goin’ on about “riding his big hog” or vice versa.

Meanwhile , many bloggers on this site are preparing to journey to Porker Haven to see if he is interested in coming at UGA. They are carrying a list of promiscuous women who will arrive later with “W”s around their necks signifying they want a “winner” like Petrino and will try to entice him back to Georgia after his earlier surprise exit. They exitedly exclaimed, ” We aren’t getting some pig in a poke, we are getting a pig AND a poke”. Ah yes, the big hog-ridin’ pig poker is riding high in his poles.

UPDATE: A rally of “Jesus for Petrino” will be held in The Crosses, a small town in the Ozarks, and at the INN Appropriate, a B&B known formerly as Tucker Inn. It is not known what the relationship is between Jesus, a Mexican immigrant worker at the Inn, and Petrino.
