It was not the prettiest of weeks for The World’s Most Powerful College Football Conference. (It sure was entertaining, though.)
I feel like this week’s ballot is little more than a placeholder, given the major battles we’ll see this weekend between four of the five top teams. But here goes, anyway:
- Alabama. Nick Saban doesn’t have time for his team to be losing. Although he has to be amused by the collective freak out over the Tide trailing in a regular season game for a whole fifteen seconds.
- LSU. Another mailed in effort. The problem with sleepwalking through multiple games is that you run the risk of not waking up in time.
- South Carolina. Even really good teams play lousy first halves now and then. But then really good teams ride players like Marcus Lattimore to play dominant second halves.
- Georgia. I think Georgia winds up being better than South Carolina by season’s end. But right now, there’s too much uncertainty on the defense and special teams for me to peg the Dawgs higher than the ‘Cocks.
- Florida. No bye week bounce, but things will sort themselves out on Saturday.
- Texas A&M. The Aggies just keep pounding people on the scoreboard.
- Mississippi State. The Bulldogs get the rare bye week drop because TAMU has looked more impressive beating the teams it’s supposed to beat.
- Tennessee. Derek Dooley adds another impressive moral victory to his resume.
- Missouri. The UCF game wasn’t pretty, but a win’s a win.
- Ole Miss. In a shocking development, there’s a real possibility that the Rebel Black Bears could win a conference game this season.
- Vanderbilt. If the Commodores want to show that they’re improved, it’s about time for them to win a conference game on the road.
- Auburn. Even Kiehl Frazier should be functional this week, as Arkansas comes to the Plains.
- Kentucky. This is Kentucky football: with a minute to go in the first half, the ‘Cats have the ball on the South Carolina ten… and can’t even get off a field goal attempt before the clock expires.
- Arkansas. So much for all the preseason talk that the Hog defense looked to be better this year.
Get The Picture 
UGA’s goal for that Tenn game is to try and save the head of somebody’s baby. VERY WELL ACCOMPLISHED, I’ll say.

By history, UGA and Cocks games whether both schools scores a hundred each, will end up who scores the last 3 meaningful points. If any team does dominate, that team will be a real challenge to any team nationwide. That is my view of this coming game on Sat.

If Richt and Bobo continue to be aggressive in the 4th quarter, UGA will have a good result on SAT. If they get cold feet again, it will be like ????? as usual and vanilla result. There is no reason to worry if UGA athletes will be fatigued after as they have an off week next. There is no reason not to give every ounce of effort on this game.

The Cocks also has LSU and FU the following 2 weeks after UGA. UGA has an off week and UK before FU. FU has LSU and SCe before UGA. So really UGA schedule was well conceived if not endowed. LOL. Can’t blame the whining of the Cocks.

I’m sure it’s just the Munson in you Senator, but I feel like a 7 point win over Tennessee is better than a 21 point win over Kentucky after trailing at the half. Our defense played big when it had to. Giving up 500 yards and 26 first downs is obviously not what we expected, but that is likely the best offense we will face until (hopefully) Atlanta. I think we are better than the Cocks, but it’s your rankings. Doesn’t mean we won’t lose to them Saturday, but just saying.
Of course, all of my ramblings will be considered meaningless after this weekend.

I agree with your assessment of the deal, Senator, although it would seem to me that Carolina is basically a year ahead….when you think of what Neal did, Lattimore is very scary indeed plus a quarterback who is a real running threat.
In some ways Bray is a tougher out than Shaw.
I figure both teams were a little bored by their opposition last week, but South Carolina is not wandering around in a new defense.
If our running back children have over 200 yards against Carolina, pass the sugar, I’ll mix up the Kool Aid.

Aw gosh, sorry about your condition…Pescataria can be a real problem, especially in football stadiums….lets decide on the substitution if the need arises, assuming I am going to be mixing is hubris.

Sugar Cane is natural, but table sugar is refined and not good for you. Raw Honey,(from your local area only),real Maple Syrup, bananas and pineapple are what I use to sweeten stuff. Truvia is the only substitute sweetener that is as close to Natural as possible. 🙂

Equal is composed of three naturally occuring amino acids that happen to taste sweet when hitched together. It doesn’t get any more natural than that.
You might try agave juice in addition.

Beg your pardon but Truvia is hardly natural. Mixture of Stevia and Erythritol. My bride is a vegan and the only gal in our household. She puts up with a lot as you can imagine. Us menfolk gotta eat. She is probably the smartest person in our family and us guys are no sloutches. No Truvia in our sweet tea. Plenty of turbinado sugar though. Watch out for the mercury.

Very strange week, the entire national Top 10 either lost, or looked vulnerable for a portion of their games. I cannot remember a week where someone didn’t make a case to move up. Sloppy football, and I still think LSU is weaker than thought but you are right, we are about to find out.

I hate to agree with you on this but I also have USCe ranked higher than the Dawgs.
Saturday tells the tale. Spurrier should win & if I was a USCe fan, I would be very upset if he loses to the Dawgs.
