Post-rant reax: birth of a slogan

Shawn Williams can now claim his first moment of inspiration.

Okay, it’s not exactly GATA, but it’ll have to do.  I’m wondering what effect it’s going to have on t-shirt sales in Jax this weekend.

If the Georgia defense does wake up in time and plays its best game of the year against Florida, who’s going to be the first person to make a serious effort to compare Williams’ blow up with this?

So, how do we piss the rest of them off? I wouldn’t mind seeing 11 guys in Silver Britches knocking the shit out of some folks on Saturday.

It would be pretty cool if we won and had “Tried to knock the shit out of everybody” engraved outside of Butts-Mehre right next to “The Wake Up Call”.

Ja’Juan Story is no longer at UF, is he? Other than him, the rest of the Gators should be quite full of it.

I am thinking the D is going to come out jacked up. We get a lot of personal fouls as a result. Puts Gators in sort fields. Hard for UGA to win that way.

    Play hard, but fair.

If anyone claims that people on this blog don’t love Dawgs, then they are flat wrong. Look what happens when we get thrown a little red meat, (even by Mark Bradley) we’re all pumped and united for our hatred of the Gators. It’s pretty clear that we only want what is best for our program.

    Go Dawgs.

Gilliard’s response in practice only confirms William’s criticism.

    • God, I hate ESPN and it’s constant reaching for stories. I’m sure by the end of the week, the rest of the country will think it’s Georgia fans that suggested the rant will have the same effect as Tebow’s speech.

Check out Chip Towers’s column, interviewing Gilliard, Grantham, and Jarvis Jones. I was a little worried about the potential to divide the team, but it looks like it put a much needed chip on their shoulders’ to get them up. The middle of that defense needed it. http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/2012/10/23/mike-gilliard-on-soft-comments-i-felt-disrespected-and-yes-i-definitely-took-it-personally/

The only problem was that he was at the Chic-fil-A playground after practice before he started “knocking the shit” out of people.

Much has been made of the Gillard/Robinson situation, but did anyone see the ESPN football halftime analysis last night? They talked about (and showed) Jenkins/Geathers being pushed around repeatedly and then showed 3-4 clips from the USC and KY games where Alex Ogletree was backpedaling to avoid blockers on running plays to his hole instead of stepping up and trying to make tackles. This laid it out there for me that Williams’ comments were not only accurate, but also directed to more than just Gillard and Robinson.

Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and a Florida defensive player made these statements. What would the collective GA reaction be? To me, it would signal that the other team was excited and focused. To some, it might signal infighting.

Shawn Williams and Team adress the Dawg Nation:

Our sorry asses will take the field with a hardon borne of years of verbal atrocities spewed against our school spirit and teams. We, the unworthy few, will rise in the name of the G-Men we represent from years past and shall resolutely play to the roar of fans and teams gone by, who cheered the G Legions of Red and Black and whose teams implore us to represent their winning resolve and loyalty to Georgia. We do not play for personal accolades; – we play for the Glory of Georgia and the honor to wear the G like gridiron heros who came before us.

These Men of Georgia, our Team, will invite our opponents close in order to physically wrest their desire to triumph from their bodies and crush the hope grabbed from their hearts into the mire of the playing field.

And we start with FU’s ass.
