It’s a legal matter, baby.

Boy, I sure can’t wait until the details on this emerge.

A longtime, trusted aide to University of Tennessee football coach Butch Jones is not with the Volunteers’ program at the present time.

Three independent sources in three cities and two states told 247Sports late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning that a key member of the Vols’ football administration had been legally removed from his duties.

Football Operations Director Chris Spognardi, Jones’ first hire at Tennessee and on Jones’ staffs for a decade, was relieved of his duties late Tuesday evening and placed by the University of Tennessee on paid administrative leave, pending the University’s examination of the situation. UT Senior Associate Athletics Director for Communications Ryan Robinson confirmed to 247Sports that Spognardi had been placed on paid leave on Tuesday afternoon, which has been indicated as standard protocol.

The situation is a legal matter and comment is prohibited beyond acknowledgement of the situation, but UT officials stressed the need to allow due process in this matter.

A fixture on the Vols’ football practice fields and gamedays, Spognardi was not at Tennessee’s practice Wednesday morning, the program’s first of two scheduled sessions on the day. The evening practice is closed to media.

It’s a lucky thing that Booch’s program responds well to adversity.

Have no idea what this is about. Just here for the obscure Pete Townsend reference.

Beat me to it! “…just want to keep doing all those dirty little things I do…” Is rather appropriate for UT

I can’t help but notice how breezily you imply that Booch is mired in a sea of fireable offenses, but they could all be brushed aside with a trip to Atlanta. To be clear, I agree. But even my jaded a$$ was struck by seeing it laid out so plainly on my monitor.

Agreed. It’s disconcerting for sure but no one has ever accused Vol fans of being rational. If he beats Bama or wins the east it will take him damn near being criminally indicted to get fired this year. Sad….but true.

We know it’s not sexual assault, because they’re o.k. with that.

Over at VolNation, they are saying that it is related to UT or State auditors finding some accounting irregularities.

It won’t be major, TN would never let things get that far. Just camouflage for the bullying Sgt Carter did to intimidate the football player who dared help the rape victim inn her time of need. That has to be buried, regardless of who gets sacrificed. Nothing to see, just move along.

Does that explain why they’re all worked up about the photo on the UT game ticket?
