If Georgia loses the opener, what I’d pay to hear Smart condemn McGarity for not ponying up for an IPF sooner can’t be calculated. Not that he’d ever do that.
I would settle for a smirking Jeremy Pruitt, though.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I was surprised to read Bama would go inside every 3 days during camp even if the weather was ok. With Saban, I always thought he would have them in the heat and elements as much as possible to build toughness and stamina. I guess that approach is the interval training version of football practice.

Bama needs more indoor turf practice because they intend on being in the Georgia Dome at the end of the season.

I so remember the excellent snark years ago on here the first time CMR made a pitch for an IPF. ….game played outdoors… etc.
My favorite was that what UGA really needed was to lengthen the runway at Ben Epps so that the team could jet out of AHN.
Who one here made that comment? Please raise your hand.

I think RJ’s can fly in out of there. We should take 2-3 to games instead of busing to ATL.

I think the strip at Winder is long enough for a bigger jet.

If it is not the depth (roster), it is the heat, or lack of an indoor facility…..or something else. Honestly, I’d rather not hear all of what he does not have….he knew what he was getting into. Win more than 10 games a year and he can complain all he wants.

It is beyond dumb we do not already have one.

Agree, and think Bama is smart to get the kids out of the August heat regularly. 2-3 practices a week in high heat/humidity is enough to have them in shape for a game. Past that you are draining those legs, and setting them up for injury due to lack of energy and focus.

Hold on there, Greg. When our IPF is completed, we will finally have what all of the other thirteen SEC football programs have had for years.
Richt knew we needed one years ago, but didn’t want to rock the boat for whatever reason. Jeremy Pruitt made sure GM knew he thought it pathetic that a school like the University of Georgia didn’t have one, when everyone else in the league did.
It’s great for the players to have a place to get out of the bad weather conditions that arise every spring and summer in this state, and as CKS stated, it gives the players a way to recover their stamina and freshen their legs during the blast furnace – like days of summer in this state.
Lastly, and maybe just as importantly, our new IPF will add incredible value to our football program. Recruits love to see world-class facilities that will be available to them as a student athlete at the school they decide to attend. These are all very valid reasons to invest in such an amenity.
Why do you feel like this subject or the opinions of others concerning it, deserve such a condescending retort?
Honestly, if you don’t want hear about this subject, maybe you ought to tune in on another blog somewhere else.

Wouldn’t he need to condemn Damon for building that enclosed putting green he approved in 2008?

If a team without an indoor facility beats us (UNC), how will he and others blame our lack of one for the loss?

Obviously in this case, it won’t matter…neither has one.

I don’t think it will matter in any game this season unless we have a freak week of unending thunderstorms during the season. Having one will be nice, and a nice thing to show recruits, but lack of an IPF isn’t the reason for our decade of disappointment.

Like the Alabama game last year. Just noting that it was basically that bad week of weather heading into a really big game that can’t have helped the team be at their best for the game.
and no this isnt a excuse for CMR thing.

If Coach Richt said those same words posters would say he wanted the team to be soft.
