It appears that y’all have noticed there hasn’t been any activity here at the blog in the last couple of weeks. It’s a little weird after sixteen or so years of steady posting to take an unexpected leave of absence as I’ve done. The explanation is pretty simple: I’m working my way through some serious health issues. Things are headed in the right direction, fortunately, and I expect to be back in the swing of things sooner rather than later, so bear with me.
I’ve received tons of emails and text messages about my situation and am deeply appreciative of everyone’s concern. It’s another reminder of how much this blog means to everyone. Stay tuned.

The QBR isn’t going to rate itself, Senator! Seeing a new post from you is the highlight so far of my birthday, so huzzah! I’m sorry to hear that you’re under the weather, but I’m delighted to hear that you’re on your way back.

Great to hear that you are ok! Wanna know how much I missed you? I had no idea spring practice had started until the reports coming out the next day. Having been through some serious medical shit not long ago, I can relate, and am relieved you seem to be on the steady mend. As all your devoted readers offer up hopes and prayers (as do I). I want to man up and offer to do something of real to help you Senator. I understand that Porches can get real finicky if they don’t get run periodically so being the giving person that I am, I hereby volunteer to take the 718 for a quick spin and blow out those accumulated hydrocarbons. We tried our best to run the place without you, but nobody could figure out how to lock the door and some weirdos got in, drank all the beer and caused a scene. Some of our faithful commentors started a long discussion about weapons and such. We think the weirdos got scared and left. They were probably Auburn scum, so good riddance. In the end we had to send some people on a beer run. Not sure where they ended up. Probably a strip club in Columbus. I will go check….

81Dog, I can’t recall the name of that particular establishment but the doorman that night was a Ranger Instructor on limited duty with his arm in a cast. Of course we were allowed in but didn’t stay long. That place was raunchy. The Sar’nt warned us the dancers were mostly thrice married Dependopotamuses with their doe-eyed E-3 husbands jealously guarding their virtue. Flabby, stretch marked skanks with no skills and looks that even low lighting and overpriced Jim Beam couldn’t camouflage.
We went on to the Traffic Light where at least the geriatric stripper with the trained doves smelled decent.
And y’all call Chelsea’s a shithole.

Take care of yourself senator. I had a scare myself in September. Had surgery on Thursday, was in Athens stitches and all on Saturday. All is good now thanks to the Good Lord above! Just heal up and be ELITE!! We’ll still be here when you get better Go Dawgs!

Holy cow! For the first time in my life I give up something for Lent, my morning routine of reading your post and other such Dawg things and when I come back yesterday evening just to browse, I see a post that is two weeks old with 500 or so comments!
So glad to hear you are doing ok, this getting older shit as my mother pointed out on many occasions “ain’t for sissies”
Take care of yourself! If all these posts don’t make you feel loved and appreciated I guess we will just have to have some kind of hype video for you at the spring game!!

Like Ranger, I checked in yesterday morning, got nothing, came back today and saw the good news! Glad you’re on the mend. If we don’t have our health, nothing else really matters. Hope your physicians aren’t diversity hires! Seriously, the best thing you can do for your health is get back to blogging ASAP. There’s nothing more healing than doing something you love. Besides, where else are you going to find such humanity, empathy, intelligence, and wit than here at GTP.

Back when I was a junkie in Soho I preferred China White. But Popeye Doyle interrupted the flow. I had to settle for Mexican Brown for a few weeks until Popeye’s corrupt buddies on the narco squad stepped on it and reintroduced it to the skreets. I made do.
JPM ain’t trying to replace GTP. But he’s offering a viable alternative. Beats the hell out of SDS and the insidious DawgNation.

It’s an incredibly good feeling winning back to back National Championships, Tejas Dawg. Not being a fluke makes it even better. Shutting those muthafukas the fuck up is just the cherry on top.
