Could be worse…
Two more kickoff times: UT-Martin at Georgia, 6 p.m. on Sept. 2 on ESPN+ and SEC Network+ and Ball State at Georgia on Sept. 9 at 12 p.m. on SEC Network

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I admit I expected both games to be at noon. UT Martin at 6 isn’t awful unless you planned to bring young children to the game.

6 pm starts only beats a 7-8 pm kickoff. Personal choice I prefer victim state served early afternoon 😇

Don’t forget UGA football staff is looking, searching for a few good men to play some starting positions and lead UGA football to victory, UGA football doesn’t need to be searching for starters in week three…GO DASWGS!!

Noon kickoffs in September in Georgia heat? Better to watch on TV than to experience heat stroke.

To borrow from Mark Richt at that 2002 Clemson game, “you can get hot after the game.”

Back to back defending CFP champions open on streaming networks. When is the last time a defending champion opened the season not being broadcast on cable or over the air networks?

Streaming is still a relatively new thing but this is completely schedule driven. Over the last 10 years the defending national champion has opened with:
UGA vs Oregon
Bama vs Miami
LSU vs Miss St (COVID) – game played on 9/26
Clemson vs GA Tech (Thur)
Bama vs Louisville
Clemson vs Kent St
Bama vs USC
Ohio St vs Virginia Tech
Florida St vs Oklahoma St
Bama vs Virginia Tech
Only one school was outside the Power 5. All games were broadcast on ABC, ESPN or CBS. The only defending champion to lose was LSU.

In September I blame the temps on Stephanie Abrams of the Weather Channel being she is a Florida Gator. She has her finger on the natural weather button for Georgia.
